Message from A.G.Kutty in Saudi Arabia.
It is not just the mother tounge of the singer that matters when we talk of sucess in music.Along with the talents, the commitment of the singer to adapt himself or herself to the language of the music is the driving element of paramount importance in the creation of successful music. The Best example for this is
K.S.Chithra.She has sung in seven languages of India which includes Tamil,Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada,Hindi, Oriya and Bengali. There is hardly any singer in India who can match her as far as adaptability to the music of diffrent languages is concerned.Along with her god gifted talents and high profile music qualifications, she has the commitment to do the Best Job and these are the obvious factors which led her to the great achievements like winning of National Awards for 5 times in succession, honour by all the four sothern states as the Best Female Singer etc.

Its sad to realise that no one seems to remember Vani Jayaram, who is a Tamilian -the singer to have sung in max. Indian languages, also well trained in Hindustani classical and Carnatic music and who always had a flawless diction

Mr. Kutty has come up with a an eye opener and I fully endorse his views. I feel avid listeners are blessed to have people like K.S.Chitra,SPB amidst us.

The simple reason why non-tamil singers are chosen over tamil singers is that we don't have enough talent. If you look at the history of tamil play back singers none of them are tamil.
TMS - Sourashtra.
SPB - Telugu.
Yesudas - malayalam.
Janaki - Telugu
Susheela - Telugu
PBS - Telugu
Chitra - Malayalam

Music is divine...let's not differentiate based on the artiste's origin or the language they speak...we are fortunate to have so many great singers treating our ears....jai hind

Tamilians are courteous and welcome everybody considering only their talents. It is an open secret that non-tamil speaking talents are superstars in TN, which we allow here.
Can Kutty or any one else tell me the reason why Tamil talents (no less than any one else) are not invited to sing in Hindi films (Vani Jairam had a tough time) or how many songs has Kutty etta heard Sirkali, Chidambaram Jayaraman, Loganathan,TMS or for that matter SPB sing in his Malayalam. Does anything else other than language/adapatation matter there?
The truth is simple. TAMILS ARE MORE MAGNANIMOUS!

Dear readers,
Vani Jairam didnt get a chance in Hindi movies because she was not even a fraction as good as lata, asha or geeta dutt. You people are making mountains out of molehills. Moreover she was HORRIBLY accented and listless while singing in Hindi

This is the first time that I am posting a message to this forum. I am a diehard fan of Jayachandran. This message is for any people out there who consider Jayachandran as their *MOST FAVOURITE SINGER*. If Jayachandran is your *MOST FAVOURITE SINGER*, please contact me. I wish to discuss something that may be of interest to you.
If you do not fit the above description, but know of someone else that does, please request them, on my behalf, to contact me.
Thank you very much.
