What is missing in AR RAHMAN's Latest Albums??

I am sure as you all know that lately, Rahman's songs have not become what they used to be; mega hits. People have different opinions as to why this is the case... please share your thoughts.

  Hi Maddy!!
  just cool down. There are facts to correct here.
  1. The first instance of synth, used in TFM was by KVM in Aeni-p-padigal.
  2. It was continued by MSV in subsequent movies (e.g., Ninaithale inikkum)
  3. It was perfected by IR (Vikram, Punnagai Mannan etc.,)
  4. Mastered by ARR.
  
  Now as to answer the question by someone earlier in this thread, "Rasaathi" song in Thiruda Thirudaa had no musical instruments whatsoever. But the recording was so perfect in that song, that no one missed any instruments.
  
  Secondly, patriotic songs by IR , "Vande Mataram" Pathos version in Sirai chalai and the whole album "Bharathi" is an example. As an extension, Ir had composed many of left wing films in 80's. Classic example is "Kann Sivandhaal Mann Sivakkum" , the great song "manidhaa manidhaa ini un vizhigal sivandhaal" written by Gnaghei Amaran.

  I am afraid, I can't confirm that. I dont have Thiruda Thiruda cassette / CD. I guess you must be correct. As far as what is missing in his recent albums, I have not heard all of them completely, but film albums have to have good story/script backing up his musical efforts. plus as i said b4, he is way tooverburdened with projects. That has not been his style so far(I mean accepting too many projects ).

  Originality is missing.
  
  Even in his 2nd album, Gentleman, he picked a tune from Osibisa troup who had come to Chennai late 70s. People who are casual listeners can enjoy it. Not me..

  Now you agree that they (YSR, HJ) did not take 10 years. Appada, oru vishayaththa puriya vaikarathukkulle pothum pothumnu irukku. TB did not come from the sky one day and composed Roja. He worked many years to get trained with kbs/synths and so is the case for others. YSR neither worked in the ad industry nor with his father. He came straight to tfm. So obviously he would take couple of years to learn. Hj worked with TB and learned a few years and came out with Minnale/Majnu.
  
  92-00: Frankly speaking I think you know nothing about tfm. I don't want to explain you each and everything. You search yourself who were there from 92-00 and what they did. why didn't succeed etc...still if you couldn't find anything yourself, then ask me.. I will explain.

  This is another false claim raised by thundhu bhai fans. There was a bass line coming in the song, ofcouree you need to listen very carefully.

  parkadhey parkadhey's tune is taken from hilele hilele. both are available at 12f2 site. That site was run by a TB fan, so he left the decision to the visitors.

  Well i was a ARR-veryian from 1992-2000, so i was indeed keen abt. TFM and IFM....this is wat happened as far as i know....
  1.ARR's albums sold more than IR albums and it destroyed IR's albums LEFT-RIGHT-TOP-BOTTOM-CENTER..........
  2.All big names in the industry like MR,BR,KB,Shankar,Rajinikanth came rushing to this smiling assasin.....
  3.He made Northies listen to tamil movie songs....i still have a maharashtrian frnd who has an entire collection of ARR's tamil songs.....and i feel proud when i tell ppl. that ARR is from my hometown........
  4.He won 2 national awards within 5 years and n number of filmfare awards......he is also a padmashree......
  If u want to attribute all these achievments to a lifeless instru called synth then sorry buddy, u r STONE-HEARTED........i'm 100% sure that there is no way ARR could have fooled ppl. with just a synth in his hand......i might be a fool but wat abt. entire country and other ARR fans spread across the globe......there is no way u can credit ARR's achievements to inspirations,copying,synth.........it is all ARR's magic......

  I agree. IR lost the ground on commercial basis, that is a fact. The same thing has been happening to thundu bhai from 2000. Every tom and harry kick him like anything as you said LEFT-RIGHT-TOP-BOTTOM-CENTER, you forgot one important side BACK! May be IR wasn't kicked at BACK, that is why he is sitll around???

  You are wrong again dude. BR, KB, and Rajini left IR even before TB came to the scene. Now IR should be smiling all the way.. Because all those people are biting the dust.

  Who cares what northies like or listen? What matters to me is what I like/listen...The same northie racists kicked Jesudas out of the field... But we are not like them.. We even listen to Udit ..See the difference. BTW, aren't you from Bangalore and a kannddiga? when did tB become your hometown bhai?

  If that is the case, where is his magic now? why his movies/albums sunk like titanic? he was good when there was no competition..... but now everyone has access to the same tech.. it will take some efforts to beat the competition.. but i don't think he will do it. he is a gone case as far as tfm concerned. Period.

  according to ARR also kicked by back since 2000...well man...after 2000,ARR won 2 National Award...so..even ARR was kicked everywhere,he still manage to be win National award..hahah...ARR just kick IR LEFT-RIGHT-TOP-BOTTOM-CENTER

  Lets stop this street fighting. I will suggest one thing. There are 2 groups here,
  A) ARR albums don't lack anything, they are just fine.
  B) It lacks quite a few things.
  Now let us put it for a vote.
  SMS "ARR A" to 7827 if u feel it is good in quality.
  or
  SMS "ARR B" to 7827 if u feel otherwise.

  wat a "saakku"......then how did MGR get it b4????he was a big shot in TN but he was a no-one outside TN and he did not have any influence, how did he get it????
  
  this is getting pretty silly, we r fighting one-on-one in this DF.......i dunt think we'll reach a solution also.......u can never make me accept that ARR is lesser to IR and he is bad.....ARR was/is/will be the idol in my life......and as far as u, i think i can never make u accept that ARR is good......i never comment abt. IR cos i really dunt care abt. his music now, but i do know he is gr8.......so i think we can end this pointless discussion......i know u like to tease ARR fans but bring back some sanity in urself and lift ur standards and stop calling him names like TB and stuff...
