Is YSR the new ARR? Is YSR the new ARR?

It has been mentioned on more than one occasion that YSR is the MD who will take ARR's place. YSR has produced many hit albums lately using new, fresh and funky styles of music. I believe that this statement has been proved by Yuvan after Dheena, Rishi and Thulluvatho Ilamai. When compared to ARR's recent Thenali and Star we can see that YSR has taken the lead in this race to be the best. YSR has been signed for many new and exciting projects so I can see that he will be the block in ARR's attempt to regain his position as No.1 in TFM.
What are your thoughts on this?

You should understand that the rights of ARR's albums are bought by producers...ARR has got no say in this...he can't refuse point blank, it is an obligation and honour...ARR himself has mentioned in some interview...his sound-engineers take care of the dubbing etc..ARR just reviews the final product and gives his ok...we are not talking about pure-pristine rain-bringing raagas and music here, it's film music for heaven's sake ! and when an album rights are bought over...there is no control in the MD's hands.

I am told he used to do one song in the morning and one song in the afternoon !!!! IR, I think 'hears' the song in his head. Like somebody was saying the other day IR could continue to compose even if he goes deaf !! This kind of capability is what I think makes IR fit to be called a genius !!

IR is a genius and how could YSR go wrong being born 2 such a great man.YSR too has inherited that gift of musical composition from IR.YSR's music is catchy,usually upbeat and really suits his films well. I feel KR is overhyped,I can see traces of all his old songs in his films. DDD was not that great, as was UKP.
Lets let up on arguing and agree that YSR is the only MD who is fit to succeed ARR. (I am not saying he is the new ARR but he will take ARR's spot if ARR doesn't concentrate on his TFM and just produces average albums,such as Thenali,and Star)

thanx for the reply-i'm relieved that my fav. M.D is not at fault!
But why does it happen only with ARR?coz he's the only one whose music is sooooo good that all producers want to keep repeating it?
and do u mean to say that all this is not at all due to ARR's not having time,running out of tunes etc.?

Does this thread mean a quick downfall OF ARR ?? OR a quick compeitor is in the race for ARR ?? Or The Music created by ARR is just possible to be made by everyone ??? Dont thrash me...!! I am just inqusitive to know as a TFM lover !!

I have a strong source who tells me most of the postings about YSR in the forum are posted by YSR and his friends, to gain popularity. They are trying very hard to promote YSR.
-- few names are always found onl in YSR related threads, comes mostly from UK based IP.

Now YSR having a real fight with HJ. HJ proves some hits YSR will get lose his identity.

YSR has not get ARR super naturual quality to compare with ARR still YSR need good stuff prove. Better to go with lower level then we thing about higher level.

ARRFan...u want me to state the obvious ? If producers want to dub some songs from ARR's HFM to TFM..what can it mean ?

1) ARR's name sells
2) The Director found that those particular ARR songs vibed with his story and brought the rights over !
3) The peoducers were doing a national service and trying for a North-South integration.

Take your pick :)

As 0f now ARR No1 and Harris No2....Summa Bay area vil irundhukittu, YSR ....N01...avannu....Kanavu Kanadhe....Both ARR and Harris arrived like Stroms...You require somebody like that to replace or overtake these guys....At the most YSR can be next Deva....Madhav...this is for you....A.A.

YSR taken over position of next DEVA, then who will taken over ARR position, wait for another 10 more years. Now a days ARR is monoply without rival.

hey guys u know one thing...arrahman is now buzy with his new international album with legendary musician SIR ANDREW LOYD WEBBER--the one who is album sold more than 3 BILLION---across titanic ..
he have 2 concentrate on it 2 plus u know rehman is producing more film in hindi like lagaan 1 2 ka 4. and also future hindi films which i know more than tamil films...so as a universal MD..he is tremendous buzy...THERE NO OTHER ARR THAN HIMSELF!!!!!!!1

I have read one interview of ARR in which he said that, he used that perticular tune, because he liked it very much and he wanted it to be heard by many. You know, karuththamma didn't even do well in TN , commerically.

For instance I wanted to do a theme like Bombay, which would be a reflection of the incident, to create a symphony kind of piece. In the world of advertising and also film where deadlines are paramount...sometimes it is better to take a repeated or a rejected idea and fit it into a new situation as long as it is your own idea...and ideas are not manufactured in factories....

IR had a different style of generating ideas quickly..he whirled like a tornado in the systems of Carnatic and WCM to churn of endless different combinations...he still does it today !

ARR is totally different preferring randomness and diverse musical influences to play in the test-tube of his mind before the spark of creatvity is generated and a tune is born...this takes more time..
