Where is SPB ? Where is SPB ?

Why are ARR and Raaja not using SPB these days. Bharadwaj and Vidyasagar seem to be the intelligent MDs around by using SPB for their best and choicest songs while Raaja and ARR seem to prefer the younger lot who are good but pale next to SPB.

yea IR, SPB & Janahi had peak time together . We could not expect same perfromance from them at this fast environment.

check out the Hindi version of 'Thendralae' from Kathal Desam feat. Sonu Nigam & SPB.
IMO sonu outsings SPB in this one...

Let me clarify my stand again. I do not question the class of SPB anyday. He is a genius. My point of starting this thread is why he is not being used. He is still going strong alright..Mun PAniyaa was a lesson for all new singers about how one can underplay a beautiful song with great voice modulations. While new singers like Harish Raghavendra or the resto fthe biig pack seem to be Ok, SPB deserves much better. His voice suits more actors than anyone else. And his modulation and pronounciation are unheard of today.
I only hope MDs are reading this thread or some friend of theirs to let them know..pls use SPB before its too late..and then we all regret the fact that we cud have used him well when he was at his peak..

Beautiful song but when SP Bala comes in at the end he makes it a great song!

The emotion the expression!!!!!!.....it gives me goose pimples!

And people say his hindi diction is bad ....that is crap.
The reason why sp has not been singing in hindi for sometime is because Bollywood directors are jealous of him!!

I rest my case!

Though I can't speak telugu, I love SPB's telugu songs. For more than 25 years SPB has been the most preferred singer for all the heros and producers in tamil and telugu. In telugu all his songs were mega-hits. In tamil, there is not even one hero that SPB did not sing for. I guess I am right to say that he ruled both telugu and tamil film music world..

well, I though I could took "T" in TFM for both Tamil and Telegu... to mean Tamil film music and Telugu film music?!

I think SPB contributed his whole life time for both Tamil and Telugu film industry; singing, dubbing; composing; acting and what not!!

Is he considered one of the best in kannada field, too? I don't know.

No he is not Considered one of the best there, but WORSHIPED in telegu/Kannda, Like the mallu's worship KJY, but who do the Tamils worship :)

it has to count.......coz the stress is on the hero and not the lang in which SPB sang for him

and btw,i heard upcoming heroes don prefer SPB coz they feel his voice is too elderly.....sheer stupidity........so is there a possiblity that SPB hasnt sung for Shaam,Tarun etc etc.......HCMF pleez clarify :)

SPB sang 4 maddy in "ennavale", the song is "Chinna chinna suhanghal valgaiyele", by SPB, and FYI Maddy's fav is SPB & KJY, :)

that spb is in the heart of every single tamil is once again proved when he delivered an uniamginalble show recently at music academy.

the crowd went into raptures on seeing this unbelievable great man and this great man had to sing non stop till 10 in the night. i came home after that . it was a remarkable show and shows that spb is worshipped in the state of tamilnadu

shaam, tharun are very very new. You have got to wait till they do another couple of movies. SPB will be there for sure.

It's true that SPB doesn't sing a lot of songs for vijay etc.. but isn't true for almost all the other singers too? These days movies come with around 6 songs on an average and each one is sung by a diffrent singer. Bcos the MDs and producers probably dont know who's people's faviourite and so they ask everybody to sing. Tell me how many movies in the past few years have more than one song given to singers like unni krishnan, harikaran etc. They just sing one song each and that's it (kasi is an exception). SPB is called for 'special' songs or songs that nobody else can sing (e.g satham illatha in amarkalam, o..podu from gemini etc).

MDs try to use new voices which is fine. If heros and MDs want SPB then they will come to him. If they don't use SPB, it's a loss only for them but certainly not for SPB!!
