  100,000$ ? for releasing an album doest it cost this much? This is not a sarcastic question.Its almost 45 lakhs which is probably just a couple of movies salary to YSR or IR. Why go through this rigamarole for all that?

  Here we go again! For the umpteenth time.... The total cost of this project is 5 crores. For detailed split-up, pl. visit the websites.[TiS or Raaja]. $100,000 is roughly 1/2 crore. You do the math. This is not just any other album. This is SYMPHONY music involving over 200 artists in a foreign country to practice, record and then release the CD. Now, may be you understand that this is not any rigmarole/rigamarole and why your help is sought after!

  Evidently, you haven't heard of Madras Symphony Orchestra, or any other orchestra in India. When it involves money and effort why can't they do it with artists from India? . What is the necessity of getting artists from hungary?

  " On 22nd, the TiS team met with Maestro Ilayaraaja and he posed keen questions on the progress made so far on the fund-raising efforts and expressed his satisfaction and offered his suggestions as to the future course of action. He also gave clear directions as to our role on the proposed meeting the next day with Mr. Stephen Schwartz, the Oscar winning music composer and lyrics writer of Pochahantas. That evening, Maestro Ilayaraaja went to NY to watch a Broadway Musical called THE PRODUCERS and enjoyed it very much. He retired for the night at 1 am!
  
  With all that, he was up and ready at 7 am the following morning and we had additional talks on TiS. He met with Mr. Schwartz at 1 pm and the meeting lasted for 2 hours. The meeting between the two Maestros was a treat for all of us [only 2 of us, to be exact!]. At one point, when Mr. Schwartz was unable to fully grasp what Maestro Ilayaraaja was conveying with regards to the moods of the verses, Maestro Ilayaraaja suddenly got up, walked over to the piano in the room[Mr. Schwartz'] and started playing and simultaneously singing the verses as well!! That literally choked all of us to tears and we were thrilled to witness TiS unfolding right in front of our eyes and ears!! From that point on, it was real child's play between the two Maestros and the meeting went very smoothly with each of them understanding the theme, mood and the music of TiS. 23 verses from Saint Manickavasakar's SivapuraaNam will be set to symphony music as of now. This is all you need to know! Anything more, will kill the purpose and the interest! Maestro Ilayaraaja was very happy and words flowed from his mouth thus--" Thiruvasakam in Symphony has really taken off today!"
  
  This is all the report says.
  
  It does not really say Stephen Schwartz involvement, except for the one liner in the reply which says "He is the one translating the selected Thiruvasakam verses for the symphony."
  
  What translation? - Is he translating Thiruvasagam to other languages (I heard the symphony will also be out in other languages) - Can you please explain what "translating the selected Thiruvasakam verses for the symphony" mean?

  The way I understood it, Schwartz is traslating the selected Tamil versus to English.

  Please, please... donot lose the focus! Jeera has every right to ask for clarification. We thought that almost everyone participating in this forum are long time followers of this thread. If you remember, way back, we have said that the symphony will be done in various languages with the original Tamil script in place. Anything more will spoil the uniqueness of TiS! Please bear with us and as rightly expressed by IR fan in Boston, please divert tour energy in helping us raise the needed fund and let your querries be focussed on that! We have only 26 days left in Feb and need to raise the assured funds from US end. Please tell your friends, collect from them and send them to us asap. All your help is the only thing we ask from you now. We have firm faith in that that the fans will raise up to the occsion and make TiS happen. In the meantime, we sincerely appeal to all the fans not to lose temper and do not indulge in beating others with words!
  Mr. Jeera, Mr. Schwartz is translating the selected verses from Thiruvasakam into English to fit into the score done by IIR. Similar Hindi translation is already finished. For now, English and Hindi are ready and German translation is being worked out. I hope now you are satisfied. It was our mistake in not including the word ENGLISH in our reply.

  As the controller of the 5 elements,[of which I am made of]is within me, let me now try to say HIS/ITS glory, to rid of my past effects.
  This stanza has a very profound meaning in that, once we are aware of the fact that we are also part of the 5 elements which is everywhere, the only way to even get rid of that consciousness is to sing His glory alone!! That way, we become one with the Nature and will be able to appreciate IT very clearly and thereby, understand that WE ALL ARE ONE!!
