is arr unfair to spb?

arr did not use spb in jeans,bombay,kandu kondein kandu kondein,rhythm,alaipayuthe.

  I doubt if any one else would have won the national award for the MK song"Tanga thamarai", if it were to have sung by some one else other than SPB,

  ARR introduced singers with horrible tamil pronunication like Hariharan, Udit Narayan,
  Sadhna Sargam etc. And tfm was the loser with
  the likes of SPB, Yesudas singing very less.
  
  And the national award for Minsara Kanavu is
  the biggest joke that has happened in the last
  10 years and after that the national awards
  have been given to more and more undeserving
  films. In fact most of ARR's songs have singers
  nearly screaming as it happened with SPB for
  Minsara Kanavu and many other songs.
  
  Also making SPB singing songs with horrible
  lyrics like Azhagana Rakshashayee is a big
  insult for SPB who has sung many great songs.

  I just agree with Athi.ARR gave nice songs to HH and SMD and gave the Azhagana rakshahayee to SPB!
  Thats really unfair.Why shouldnt he give songs in the movies such as Uyire,Rhythm,Kandu konden,Jeans,Tajmahal and so on.Why must he do this and i think ARR didnt use SPB with perfectly.

  that arr is totally unfair to spb is proven beyound doubt. but one should say that if he uses spb, arr loses his credit to a great extent. every body writes about the way spb sings the songs and he get equal credit.this may not be to the liking of arr. this may be a very narrow view of mine, but i also think it might be true.

  U need not advise ARR as to which singer he should choose. Cool!!!
  
  Every MD has his favourites and he has the RIGHT to have favourites. Even IR used janaki and later Chitra more extensively than others.
  
  New singers need a chance after all!!So ARR has encouraged many new singers and tried them well.
  Throughout this forum everyone wants to find some fault with ARR and make a mountain out of a molehill.

  sorry 2 say this but ARR is a bit jealous, that if uses the magical voice of SPB, 4 his films, that the Legendary SPB will take all the awards, rather than him, a bit narrow minded in it.
  
  I think "ullunthu vidhakayile", in mudhalvan would have sounded alot better, had SPB sung it rather than the so called hariharan, with his blocked nose voice!!!, ARR could have used SPB more in his films, like he did in duet!!!, the songs in duet "Anjali, Anjali", "mettu podu","en khadale", were amazingly sung by SPB

  I think that the MD's should give more songs 2 SPB,cos billions of people r dying to hear this legend's voice, ARR used SPB in his first couple of films, (Roja, Gentlmen,Duet) to gain a place 4 him in the music industry,as that time (early 1990's), IR was the don, Arr was a chinna paiyan, so once ARR has used SPB 2 gain a place 4 him in the music industry( so selfish of ARR), arr then bought in the hey fewer sufferers like Hariharan, Unnikrishnan, Srinivas.
  
  ARR gives most of the bad songs 2 SPB, cos he knows that even the tunes r bad, if SPB signs it, it will be a super dooper hit, hence he gives all the good songs to Heyfever sufferers, like Hariharan, Unnikrishnan,Udi narayan & srinivas, all of these heyfever sufferers turn into a women, once the reach to high pitch in any songs, funny is not it???

  ARR doesn't give SPB songs? Well letz c, Padaiyappa was basikally all SPB, and so was Jodi,Thalam had SPB as well.. Kadhalar Dhinam had SPB yet again.. En Swasa Kaatre also had SPB in it, Ottam as well had SPB in it.. so did Ratchakan.. Kabhi NaKabhi had SPB for a couple of songs as well ..Kadhalan also had SPB and Rahman's first ever venture Roja had the great SPB in it ..and there are many more albums .. his latest Star also had SPB in it .. so ARR does use SPB ... i guess he tries 2 put the best voice for each song or somethin' ... then again .. if ppl are dying to hear spb's voice, there are other MD's who are using him .. they can always hear him there... and don't get me wrong .. I love SPB's voice ... he's my favourite singer!!!`

  you know me, i have given you a list of films which arr has not used spb and i can add to it.after arr become a super hero, he never gave good songs to spb. he used him in the begining to gain name and fame and then ditched him fearing spb will corner a good percentage of his success.
  these things will happen only in tfm .even now he is giving one song in each film after forgettinm him for several no . of films . perhaps arr's conscience is begining to prick.

  What the hell do u mean by saying Hariharan has a blocked nose?
  Hariharan is a singer par excellence, though maybe not as good as SPB , IMO.
  
  However ARR has the right to choose the singers he does, right??? Also,just because Chitra,Kavitha etc and also hariharan,SPB etc have done great justice to his songs, does NOT mean that they will overshadow his music.Therefore there is nothing for ARR to be SCARED of.

  lv, we are never scared or jealous of arr's success and glory. today he is the number one. no dobut. but he can nowhere come near illayaraja or msv. he just does few films in a year and because of his knowledge of hindi, got an all indian image which msv and ir did not possess. there is nothing to be jealous of arr as he is nowhere near msv or ir or for that matter rdburman,sdburman or laxmikant pyarelal.we are in the music field since 1968 and has a rich experience. hariharan,shankar, udit are all very ordinary singers remaining on the reflected glory of arr.

  other thing ARR songs do not last 4 long, they r all seasonal variations(even though they remain the best songs for couple of months, they gradually fade away), but IR & MSV's songs are still a traet for ears, even year after year,
  
  ARR is scared & jealous of SPB, as high percentage of credit will go to SPB rather than ARR, if he uses SPB in his film, this is fact!!!

  Please list recent SPB songs by MD's other than ARR in tamil and compare it with ARR. Then everybody can see whether ARR stopped using SPB or whether SPB reduced his singing in tamil. ARR as recently as star,jodi,padaiyappa,tenali, mudhalvan etc. used spb. He uses SPB more than most of the present MD's (including IR who prefers HH and UK more than SPB).

  I like arr music alot, I got nothing against the guy, but every one knows including Arr himself, that if he uses SPB 4 all songs in a film, all the awards & praise will go 4 spb rather than him self, hence he heitate 2 use SPB 4 all the songs in a film!
  
  So arr uses SPB 2 sign bad tunes, cos he knows even if the song is crap, but SPB sings it, it will be a mega hit!!, pls learn 2 accept this fact!!

  AS i posted in other thread, the current trend is to use singers other than SPB. whether he reduced songs by making himself unavailable or MD's are not using him is really a great question for all of us. But the numbers show that in Telugu, in 2001 he didnt sing more than 15 songs so far. (source www.idlebrain.com ). even greats like Chiranjeevi are going with current trend and making Udit, Hariharan, Shankar mahadevan to sing for them. The songs are really horrible. May be ARR is going with the trend. Also many of his songs doesn't require SPB. We need SPB back desparately. But who is going to tie the bell???
