This song has two versions by different singers (i am not sure if the prior version belongs to a movie, or it is a kirthi). MD of this version is KVM.

Can you please tell me if MKT's version was a film song or was it some kIrthi (or kIrthana , i don't know the difference between the two)

I think MKT sang "rAdhE unakku kObam aagaadhadi" for a movie. There was a time in the initial stages of TMS' career when he was asked to re-sing some of the songs sung by MKT. Another example is "Mugathil mugam paarkalam". After a while, TMS quit doing this. I remember that the TMS version of "rAdhe..." was in a Sivaji movie (Kugumam?). Great song, both versions of it.

Bhaskar,
TMS has quite a few nasal high pitch numbers like 'yearikkarai maele pORavaLae peN mayilae',"muthalAli" . There is another song 'annaiyai pOl oru theivam illai' (don't know which movie, Sivaji i think) in which he sings in both base and nasal voices. Whenever he sheds expressions at high pitches, he tends to shift to "nasal" delivery. Some "bhakthi" songs like "sabari malayil vaNNa chandrodhayam" (ayyappa.. saranam meyyappa..).

SK, about that PS clip, now I recollect....once I heard this in an HMV cassette - this cassette even had PS' name listed for that song! But, certainly I could not remember any of that until I read the explanation here!

un kaNNil nIr vazhinthaal has some different interlude before 2nd charaNam , which i am listening for the first time.(i am familiar with a shenoy interlude,similar to the one before 3rd charaNam) I wonder how we get such different versions of old songs !
