Dear Friends,

Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!

I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!

  Certainly the most embarassed will be Rehman himself and the Rehman fans like me at a time when a geniune effort Bombay dreams crossed the £10Ml mark.
  
  But certainly BBC website should thank Dr.Vijay Venkatram for this maniacal hits.His "Rig" veda overshadowed by S(P)AMA veda.

  Getting caught up wit pointing fingers for poll rigging, it is being taken for granted how many genuine voters cud possibly be voting for VM. I'm sure ppl like hehehe who have been sieving thro ARRYG msgs may have noticed tat it was a general consensus among ARR fans, from the beginning, tat if anyone was interested in seeing ARR's name at the top of the polls, they'd go for CC rather than VM, as VM was not attributed to ARR then, nor is it now.
  Hence, if ARR Fans were the ones rigging, they'd have gone for CC.
  But leaving aside who is doing the rigging, let's concentrate on how many ppl cud possibly be involved in the rigging.
  
  With RKT, let us say all Tamils in TN wud want to vote for it. (Grp P) [I assume this savely since, i've been made to understand in this thread tat the Hindi version of RKT was not well-received]
  
  With VM, let's say all non-Tamil Indians across the rest of India wud want to vote for it. (Grp Q)
  
  Let's assume the following:
  
  i. The proportions of net users in both Grp P & Q are the same = x
  
  ii. The proportion of the popn inclined to vote for the respective song (for RKT in Grp P & for VM in Grp Q) are of the same distribution. = y
  
  iii. Assume tat awareness of this polls is double in TN, as when compared wit the rest of India.
  
  iv. Neglect the popn of Tamils in other parts of India and the popn of non-Tamils within TN.
  
  v. Assume tat the overseas Indian popn consists of the same proportion of Tamils to Non-Tamils as within India, and other parameters like net usage and inclination to vote as well as awareness of polls remain constant for both overseas Indians and local Indians. (hence including them wud not make any significant difference to our ratio)
  
  From 2001 popn census,
  Tot popn of India: 1,027,015,247
  
  Tot popn of TN = size of Grp P = 62110839.x.y
  
  Hence, size of non-Tamil Indians = size of Grp Q = 964904408.x.y
  
  Applying the awareness of the polls factor, we half the size of Grp Q: 482452204.x.y
  
  Hence, the ratio of Grp P to Grp Q = 13:100.
  
  Hence, if the intensity of poll rigging was to be uniform in Grp P and Grp Q, then the size of RKT shud be 13/100 the size of VM on the BBC pie chart. [Remember, I made quite drastic assumtions like NO Non-Tamils wud want to vote for VM, and tat only half the % of non-Tamil Indians r aware of the polls as are Tamil Indians.] However, the current ratio of the RKT to VM ratio looks well over 1:2. Which means the current intensity of poll rigging which underwent for RKT is about 4 times the rigging which went on for VM.
  
  Hence, everytime someone accuses rigging behind VM, we're in fact facing allegations that 4 times as much rigging went on for RKT.
  
  Hence, if we go by rajaG's theory tat poll rigging is done only by the unemployed, for every one unemployed patriotic non-Tamil Indian, there are 4 unemployed IR fans. (tho I disagree it's unemployed who's doing the rigging, probably computer professionals who sit infront of the comp the whole day).

  OISG why do you think it is not possible for an American to like Rakkamma....At first(when I was naive enough not to believe rigging and cheating) I asked so many of my American friends to listen to the songs........most of my friends liked RKT.......so it is not impossible for someone in America or Africa to like the song(if they luv music) unless they also have (just)the kick to see their man on top or to bring somebody down....

  my point is "RIGGING" was done by ALL the fans here.... initially the ARR fans were complaining - saying it looks bad blah blah.... and suddenly they were quiet when VM came first.... (iam not asking them to respond).... i remember reading one comment "wow, RKT leading by a huge margin, comeon, this is ridiculous" and now i see that VM has overtaken the "ridiculous"ness.... and i remember reading another comment saying that ARR fans never indulged in rigging....
  
  so my point was the "ugliness" is equally there everywhere.... so don't try to "polish" one set of fans as DECENT and others as "ugly" or whatever.....
  
  and as far as ARR fans voting for RKT or anyone else voting for VM - man, u know my opinion on this..... am least bothered....

  I agree it is both IR and ARR fans doing the rigging.....When I asked not to insult the great musician(by this i mean IR(ofcourse)) by rigging,i was asked to shut up....I did..... it is not a poll for best song anymore........it is a poll to find out "who has lots of time to rig n cheat" ( in other words, yaru niraya vettiya irukka....IR fans illa ARR fans.........)
