  Hey... something fishy ...
  
  I listened to the song 'theivam indru arul thanthdhe' almost four years ago. The tune is exactly same as 'singam onru'. May be, Rajini wanted to use that one.

  A dull album with mediocre songs. Rajni would have been better served by Deva, I guess. Other than Sakthi Kodu none of the songs would appeal to Rajni's fans. Rajyama is the boring song of all. This is what happens to overhyped films, I guess. It would be advisable if ARR stays in London, a rude welcome will be in store if he reaches Madras.
  
  Overall, I would not recommend anyone to buy this album. THere are better things you can do with your money than boost Rajni's bank balance.

  I listened to the 'Deivam indru' song, and it is the same one that I am having for four years. I think 'kadhal virus' is playing games. If not, I don't know how ARR agreed to reuse the whole song of other. The song came as a bonus with 'Manam Virumbuthe Unnai' album.

  Never heard such a mediocore music for Rajani movie. Definetely not Rajani type. Total disappointment. ARR should learn to select correct voices according to actors. I couldnt Rajani's album without SPB. I dont know what would be the reason. Anyhow there is no song in the album which would have been worth for SPB.
  
  Lot of other things are missing in the album. Karthik, Shankar Mahadevan really are not upto mark. Rajani need not pay such hefty sum to ARR for this type of music. I personally feel anybody would have done a better job.

  Ok. I have listened to all the songs 5 times already. I normally believe that ARR music grows on me. I wanted to reserve judgement until I listened to these songs over and over again. I think 5 times is good enough.
  
  10 years ago, and almost during the same time in 1992, Roja album was released. I liked only Chinna Chinna aasai, Rukumani and Kaathal rojavae in the first hearing but the music grew on me with respect to all the songs in that album. Now I love all the songs in that album. There are probably many like me who love all the songs after having heard them repeatedly, seen the picturisation in the movie etc.
  
  Today, after so many national awards, and international projects, I think Rahman, probably under too much pressure to deliver on time, has given a mediocre performance overall.
  
  The only song that may appeal to a Rajini fan would be Sakthi Kodu. But as a HCARR Fan, I like Sakthi kodu, Dippu dippu, and Maya Maya.
  
  For all the hype that was created around the cassette sales and coupons and such, the result was disappointing, more due to the high expectation levels. This album definitely doesnt warrant advance booking after standing in long queues. I wouldnt go to the extent of saying "dont buy" becos I am both a RK and an ARR fan. But I would definitely recommend against the hulla-gulla / mobbing theatres to get the cassette etc.
  
  Songs like Oruvan Oruvan (Muthu), En peru padayappa (padayappa), Vetri kodi kattu (padayappa) are a lot better than title song here.
  
  Suthi Suthi vandeeha (Padayappa), Kuluvaalilae (Muthu) are a lot better than mayamaya and kichukichu.
  
  Vidukathaiya (Muthu) tune is better than Rajiyama.
  
  Lyrics-wise most of the songs in Baba are good, but the tunes are not upto the mark.
  
  I would give Baba songs a 6/10, on a 10-Best,1-Worst scale(relative to 8/10 - Padayappa and 8.5/10 to Muthu)- Again this is after listening to baba songs 5 times today.

  Yes. You guys are correct. Look at this link It has only 7 songs from the rahmanonline site. I dont think Dheivam indru song belongs to Baba.

  BABA songs are better than Padai, Muthu, Baasha, and many other rajini movies.
  
  Just listen to the hi-tech music.
  
  This is one awesome album.
  
  Deva produced good songs for Superstar, but it can't be compared to ARR work.
  
  Arr is unique! I know that it doesn't sound like Rajini songs. Don't bash a good album if it is not like typical rajini songs.

  Don't jump on IR. That song came in the same cassette, that's all and it was not even attributed to IR/Manam virumbuthe unnai. I guess it was just a remix of 'Singam Onru'. I bought that cassette here in US. The cassette released in India didn't have that.

  Unless you are a hard core RK and ARR fan, you cannot deny that this album really stinks. I have nothing against RK or ARR and all comments are marked IMHO.
  1. Theivam indru - what a rehash. The interludes remind me of a 'demo' tune from a low end keyboard.
  2. Baba - Is it Shankar Mahadevan who sings this song? Poor opening song for RK. Well, after the initial 'babaaaaaa...' and some army parade type drumming, the 'bruoooooha' spoils the whole thing. Where is the opening of 'Oruvan Oruvan' of Muthu and where is this? Come on.
  3. Kichu Kichu - Welcome return of SPB for RK? Sadhana for Manisha... "Un NNNiRam pol en NNNiRam aaga" she sings. She seems to ask if that amount of stress on 'N' and 'R' is good enough?
  4. Rajyama - is a decent song, reminds of some IR number, not immediately able to recollect.
  5. Mayaa - What is with the lyrics? Maaya chaaya? Could SPB have sung this one at least? Karthik, or whoever the singer is, does not to have the 'Gethu' for RK. Or may be I am just used to SPB's voice.
  6. Sakthi kodu - decent song again, probably appeals sooner than the rest of them.
  
  Lyrics are definitely ok. But 'Baba innum paapa pola' is repetitive. Also, the lyrics are very non-commital about politics.
  
  One song comes to mind at this time, "Innum enthanai kaalam thaan emaatruvaar indha naatile..." Goes both for RK and ARR, I guess :-) All IMHO.
