Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

Another highly disappointing performance by ARR. It's high time he takes a hard and long at himself.. and ask few questions like "should i consider retirement?"

C~P..
I've got just one thing to say. U've heard wrong!
It's technically the most brilliant film I've seen. Be it Camera work, Music, Direction, sets... u can only describe it as "mind blowing"!
Praveen..
Shankar's actually included a scene for u in the film where Juju hold's Harini's hand and the rest of the guys have a deadly reaction!
Lolo...
ROTFL!
And coming to the BGM's...
All the bit songs come in the 2nd half!!! Rahman must have been most inspired after Lagaan when it comes to BGMs in recent films. I especially loved the bgm when they drive to Thirupathi and the bgm when Sid chases Harini as she drives away in an autorickshaw.
The jail 'mabbu' song rankled me though... yet i found it quite funny!!!

Went to see BOYS last night.I am from Houston,TX,USA. The audience enjoyed it for the most part.I feel most guys will enjoy the movie i am not sure about girls (those in india) the movie is open about talk of sex, but it isn't vulgar.i believe it'll run well outside of india and in the cities, don't know about the rural areas.
The movie starts extremely well, audience can't stop laughing. However it does slow down a little bit nearing the end of the first half. But picks up again during the second. Songs are picture really well. But i have this to say about "Ale Ale," like in most tamil movies if a new technique of filming is found to be used in indian films it is often over used.Like in this song they over use the matrix bullet time technique.
The but songs are very good too bad they didn't come out on the cd.Very basic story but the presentation is what keeps you to your seat. A must see for everyone at least once for it's technical smoothness. Sure to be a hit like shankar's other loe subjects. But i doubt it'll be super hit like his social films.

One more comment, they showed the preview for E20U18 before BOYS the music is good there are different types of songs.A gana song, some melodious numbers, and an experimental one.

Had a chance to go through the torture last night. I really wonder know how a guy like Shankar made a movie like this. Atrociously "kadi" and irrelevant scenes. God save him and the producer.

Happened to watch the show in Singapore. Looks like Selvaraghavan (Director of Thulluvadho Ilamai & KK) has been a major source of inspiration to Shankar, but the inspiration is out of context. Would say everything is out of context. Rehman's music great, Special effects great, Cinematography great, but all out of context. Disappointment guaranteed.

Deva inspired one song from "That thing you do"
directed by Tom Hanks
Now its shankar turn to inspire from little bit TI amd That thing you do to come up with "Boys"
Sad demise for Shankar.

I went to the Movie Boys yesterday!! Here in NJ (Dunellen), but they did messed up after 3/4 hour of the movie, so got a refund and came back home. The first 3/4 hour was surely enjoyable, Girlfriend song, with the 3d animation was excellent, but would have surely loved the movie if i could sit through with the mess up from the people handling the projectors

I haven't seen the movie yet. But I have been listening to Boys every night and morning on musicindiaonline.com. What an incredible album. ARR's instinctual feel for the mood is simply unmatched. He is our first truly post 90s composer. One can literally view the movie in the minds eye while listening to the songs. As with every ARR album, the first listen sounds wierd and nothing great and then it gradually grabs you and then you can't listen to anything else. This is so typically an album produced by a bunch of kids with exuberance, heart and little else.
And then the night before last had the opportunity to watch a Jethro Tull show here - it simply blew my mind - such incredible improvisational music. Reminds we what ARR's music is all about. ARR is the first Indian MD to have compsed improvisable songs - no one else ever has. Just a guitar and someone tapping out a tattoo on a bongo. The counterpoints, inverse counterpoints, three voices into one; four voices out of one voice; counterbeats etc., everything and more is there in ARR's music! ARR is incredible. May he continue producing this magic today and ever more

Boys will be a loser!!!!
Highly Illogical the moview is.. Shankar should understand that 5 hits in a row never mean the sixth also will be.
ARR will lose his dedicated Directors if flops continue in a row.
Kathir is already gone..
Shankar directing a short feature on Income Tax earlier this year with Kamal and IR incharge if Music slightly portyars a different picture..
