Sandiyar renamed as Virumandi and cassette released

The most awaited sandiyar album is released .I heard all the songs.It has totally ten songs out of which 6 songs are sung by kamal himself and two are sung by illayaraja and 2 numbers by shreyaghosal.All the songs are perfect folk and 100% traditional tamil folk songs and the lyrics are excellent in the madurai slang and all are situational songs.I will meet u again with a detailed review.buy the album immediately for die-hard fans of IR

  my dear zulfi, why do you get emotional, please try to understand, no body is trying to defame anybody here....if you can appreciate the music appreciate (offcourse you should be able to comprehend these complex compositions in the first place to appreciate), and if you dont like it just dont write anything...probably u'll have to grow up and develop the right kind of attitude and be open to all kinds of music.

  anyways onnavida is a beautiful song.. i think if ir given that song to unnikrishnan or spb insted of kamal the song would have sound beter. definitly the songs will fit to the situation.. eagerly waiting for the movie.

  This can also mean that you have a very poor taste. Ungalukku folk music pathi oru mannum theriyadhu. Theriyadhada pathi edhu comment adikkireenga?
  
  Virumaandi is a nice experimental album by Maestro. Oru velai, ella songs-kkum Ilayaraja loops use panni Anton Sami-yum, Blaze-um paadi irundha nee ketpiyo ennamo.. Ungala solli kutham illa. Ellam ungala appadi keduthu vechi irukkanga.

  "Kombula Poova Suthi" interludes reminds me of
  MMKR "Per Vechalum" song and the tempo looks like that of Singaravelan's "Sonnabadi Kelu".....more of a jazz version of naattupura paattu ...kudos IR-Kamal combination !

  an observation on the way IR has used the instruments-in the duet , once the first lines of the pallavu has finished a saarangi mournfully follows-an indication that tragedy is going to happen in the future and this pair is going to suffer?
  if this is sad then the way IR has used the instruments in kombula poova suthi song is so funny that whenever i hear this song I find that I am smiling to myself.

  - Kamal's singing very good, but SPB would have been a better choice for some of the songs
  
  - nice lyrics for 'Onna vida...'
  
  - theru koothu kind of song may make people going out for cigarette and tea (like Anpe Sivam song)
  
  - Songs may not become huge hits, but will make the film hit because the songs are meant for the movie, not made as an album.

  the ViruVirumaandi chant is pretty cool though! ... so that covers 2 songs ... and then there is Kombula Poova Suththi which is nice ... Onnai Vida and Maada Vilakkey are the others that stay in my mind ... so i guess, those are what i like in this album

  The movie is supposed to be out for Pongal.
  
  For those of you living in Toronto: My advise to you is go watch the movie on the first day itself. Otherwise, the bas-tard theatre owners will chop scenes from the movie - like they did with anbey sivam, hey ram, alavandhan etc.

  Within a movie format I dont think therukoothu makes sense - its an immensely successful tool in a village stage/ street, but with the advancements in movie/music projection, it'd look completely out of place inside a theatre, however talented the performer might be.

  I agree when you say most of the movie formats. But when Kamal is asking for it means, I feel there will be real reason to fit it properly in the movie format.

  I agree with you. This is the problem with geniuses. They want to do everthing themselves. I think SPB could have done better job. IR sometimes kills his own good song by singing himself.
