Sandiyar renamed as Virumandi and cassette released

The most awaited sandiyar album is released .I heard all the songs.It has totally ten songs out of which 6 songs are sung by kamal himself and two are sung by illayaraja and 2 numbers by shreyaghosal.All the songs are perfect folk and 100% traditional tamil folk songs and the lyrics are excellent in the madurai slang and all are situational songs.I will meet u again with a detailed review.buy the album immediately for die-hard fans of IR

  All songs belong to a totally different genre, I'm sure only the maestro could compose such wonderful tunes which no other Music Director can even think off even if all of the current MDs join together and stretch their imagination to limits. I'm sure IR has fully understood his scope and has come out with such beatiful tunes which are purely situational.
  
  Just ignore the comments of IR haters, who need to think out of box to comprehend such compositions. Its beyong their comprehension.....
  
  I appreciate IRs guts in churning such different music in this age when people ridiculously expect songs like 'Humma Humma' or 'Boom Boom' for such movies which belong to a totally different platform.

  Just ignore the trolls.
  
  The songs of Virumaandi are pretty good. But I don't have much hope for the film. I feel it will be another film for Kamal, by Kamal, with Kamal writing max screen time for himself. Considering that the film is now named after the character he plays, this suspicion could be all too true.

  The songs from Virumandi are IR's answers to those ignoramuses who think that rhythm is not his strongpoint. The complex rhythmic variations that he has brought into the songs - kombula, karubakiragam vittu especially - are so innovative and catchy that even I, no Prabhu Deva, almost got out of my seat at work and started dancing. Each listening of the songs shows me a new facet. Magnificient stuff from the maestro.

  his ex - wife is dancing in films what more do u want . for virumaandi he is begging in each channel to watch his movie no body is interested in him now
  
  about KR he is a gone case even in his 1st film he copied a song from the animation film 'pocahonthas'.his recent 3 roses went to the dust bin .he is now cleaning latr*nes in saravana bhavan. IR is begging for money to make music (cos no brand or music company wants to sponser his sh*t music) YSR will be gone in a few days

  hey u mad swine zulfi, everyone is now convinced that u r a lunatic who knows not one bit about music, We do not understand what is the point u r trying to prove.... IR has been doing limited movies..agreed, but what ever he has been giving out were all successful...unlike ARR who is starvibg for success after Haris Jeyaraj left him.... In fact there is not a single hit from ARR for the last three year, probably his stuff is exhausted after after just 8-10 years which is nothing in the field of music....and please dont talk about copying, coz everone knows whose the biggest copy cat in the Industry and after Haris Jeyaraj has left him, he has also forgotten how to copy...leave alone composing own music. Please do not write anything more zulfi, it just goes to prove ur ignorance about music....we just can pity u....for being such a fool that u are....

  I love Virumandi Songs.
  
  It makes perfect sense for Kamal to have done the vocals for his character. I guess the idea is to have a continuity in the character's voice. (Although I'd like Hariharan to have done 'OnaiVida', I think it is not too bad as it is). Imagine Virumandi, SandiarWallah, singing in a polished, city boy, Hariharan vocals. It isn't suitable,right?!
  
  'Andha Kandamani' would make a wicked Rock number with Guitar riffs and drums. Great song. (The lead vocals is strange but I'd have preferred IR to have done it alone).
  
  Like someone pointed out earlier, this album is not for city boys. You gotta have roots in the country side to appreciate the music.
  
  Every sound and music has its place. Beethoven doesn't sound right in Karaikudi, likewise IR folk songs in Raffles Place (S'pore).
  
  My perfect scenario to listen to Virumandi songs is on a bus ride from Madurai to Karaikudi, returning home on school holidays. (Brings back the memories).
