  Vasu - it is Malayamarudham without Ni - should be a janya of Chakravaham - am not sure what the name of the raga is - Sa Ri1 Ga3 Pa Dha3 Sa - Sa dha pa ga ri sa - seem to be the notes in that raga...

  Ethilum ingu is in 'Rasika ranjani' janyam of chakravakam. it is mohanam with variation in 'r'. mohanam has r2. rasika ranjani has r1.
  
  IR. dha used is d2 as in mohanam not d3.

  Hallo Sri.Senthil, I saw your query posted in quadreplet(?a technical repetition in net error!).
  In all musical systems they have only 7 notes like
  our Carnatic music which goes as sa,ri,ga,ma,pa,
  dha,ni,- and the 8th note will be again Sa(sa in
  the next octave).In western system also only 7 notes A,B,C,D,E,F,G again A.(You can see all notes
  in the English Song'DO RE MI'from 'Sound of Music
  the original version of our Santhi nilayam'Tamil
  movie.
  These7 notes are common in our Hindusthani also and are akin tothe VIBGYOR - 7 colour spectrum in
  sunrays-(you can compare this 7 colors withthe 7
  different coloured horses driving the chariot of
  our Sun God)while the colour spectrums are measured in Amstrong scales (from 3600 amstrong
  units to 7200 au) the musical notes are measured
  in cycles spectrum.
  Apart from the the constant 7 notes, additional
  swara sthanams are present in our music,the variant swarasthanams occur in RI,GA,MA,DA,NI-
  Only Sa and pa are singularly constant.
  By a process of permutation and combinations difft ragas are created(like English language with 26 alphabets constitute around 4.5lacs words
  and our Tamil 5 lacs words from 230alphabets)
  It is estimated that there are around 35,000 and
  so ragas can be documented and in these only 1000
  or so number of ragas are in use(prayogam)

  i think somebody said "Nee oru kadhal sangeetham" is in desh. please confirm. I'm pretty sure "Ethilumingu iruppan" is in rasikapriya. ( same as amudhE thamizhE from koil pura.)
