Unearthing Rare Golden Oldies of TFM into MP3s

There are many many wonderful songs in old TFM (especially belonging to the period before 1980) which many of us have heard and enjoyed in the days of their popularity, but, as years rolled by those songs came to be heard only rarely. This thread is an attempt to unearth such golden oldies. Those who have longed to hear such songs can make a "nEyar viruppam" request here. In response, those who have the songs can convert them into MP3s and share it with others here. Through sites like coolgoose.com and Yahoo briefcase, it is now possible to do such sharing easily.

As rare songs are unearthed and brought out as MP3s, it would be natural to listen to them and discuss them here, so that this thread does not simply become just a set of requests and supplies.

My sister Sathya Kabali has a large collection of rare TFM goldies in cassettes and she is in the process of converting them into MP3s and putting them in coolgoose. The songs she has uploaded are available at this link:

  I am actually compiling a few rare songs for a radio broadcast for a local radio station in US. I am also looking for the songs, 'Idhaya Vaanin...' from 'Parthiban Kanavu'. This song is available in dhool and musicindiaonline, but I need the MP3 version which I can download and broadcast. The next song is 'Pombale oruthi irundhaalam' from 'Adhe Kangal'. Both songs have a few unique things and that is the reason I am searching for them. If I am not asking for too much, do you have guys have those songs too ?

  I will check cool goose for 'Azhiyatha Kolangal'. The problem with that site is that the search option is limited (and we also type Tamil words differently). We will do better if we upload the songs with the name of the film before the song so that it could be easily searched.

  Da Vinci, I am not sure if you were the one who requested Azhiyaatha Kolangal songs in the first place because I couldnt locate your request here in the last 2 pages :-)Anyways, I have ULed the wonderful "Naan yennum pozhudhu" which ranks very high in my all-time SPB favourites list. The flowing melody, the singing, the tabla work are all a lesson to the present crop of composers in TFM who seem to be fairly clueless in melody-making.This song probably defines nostalgia for many and it scores heavily over the original LataM version in my books. Of course Salil's contribution to HFM doesnt need any elaboration at all.

  Since you guys feel pleasure in sharing such beautiful songs, I take the further liberty of making another request : 'Mampoove, Siru Mainave...', a duet of Yesudas and Suseela(?). I dont know the film, but it is another rollicking tune one cant forget !

  Have you heard SPB's 'Aazhkadalil ThathaLithu...' ? It was composed by T.Rajendar and it is another great tune, which seldom got in the lime light ! I think it is from 'Ragam Thedum Pallavi' and the film also has another lovely song : "Moongililae...". I must have heard both those songs around 8 years before.
