Hi Srikanth,
cart song arrangement is very good. The melody is very catchy & you have shown expressions at right places. I'm sure that the song will sound very good with lyrics. but please select a good singer for this song.
one comment.. if possible, avoid using ARRs pattern.

hi naveen,
Thanks, but frankly i tried be different from arr,
the only common factor i could think of is
i use KORG-Triton and protools, arr also uses them.
otherwise musically!...tell me which places, i will try to rectify.

Well. In the melody, some of the notes sequence sounded like typical ARR's style. (eg. touching the 7th & returning back), synth pad chord progression, 'chil chil' maatu vandi sound etc. I forgot the tune (it is very dangerous!!! hope you'll understand why.. :) I'll listen to ur composition one more time and let you know. I'm glad that you are using advanced musical instruments & audio equipments.

Naveen - you are right.
There are parts of the tune that remind one of "suhti suthi vandeega" instrumental version.
But overall, Srikanth, congrats on a very good composition.

Fan it was very nice listening to Cart Song. The train crossing is a novel idea. As regards to the composition itself, I feel the tune became rather stagnant after the first few phrases. Your use of the synth pad is great, but I feel it would add more depth if you used it sparingly - that is during a chorus (not the voice, but the transition to charanam...)... and when u use the guitar, do some variations with the rythm , it will sound really cool (of course use your own style - and Iam only suggesting you to experiment new things)...maybe some oboe + flute phrases will sound nice for this "Graamiya" type song...
It is a good composition, please do more cool stuff..

thanks for your comments,
Naveen: Jumping to 7th is MSV kind of change not arr's. secondly, matuvandi makes "jal jal" sound only, how can i add 'click click', thats why i used the sound :)
Swamiji; did you note the sangathee's in pallavi. (especially the last bar of the pallavi in flute)
oboe and flute is IR's trademark, I avoided it wantedly.I use flute and clarinet for a change. :)
Good i am learning a lot from you guys...
I have added another song, this is a tune/arrangement for bharathi's agni kunjondru kaden, let me know how it sounds.

srikanth,
years ago, you used to have one of your compositions entitled "Emotions" in your rAgam thAnam pallavi site. please add that to your mp3 page. that piece of music is really good. (i didn't like the drum machine programming but the base was very good. that song had a quite few interesting transitions, if i remember right.)

Dear Friends,
I composed a funny tune (Oldie Goldie!) in oldies
style. In olden days, the left hand movement in piano
was amazing which took control of bass and all vamping
fancy stuff. I still love playing in that style. In
pop music, piano playing is not very challenging!
This time you'll find some improvement in my acoustic
piano recording.
check my page for the new piano solo

your comments are welcome.
Regards,
Naveen
ps Kiru.. I bought Roland UA-30 A/D Converter
thanx for your suggestion. This time I tried feeding left mic to left channel and right to right channel using 2 different pre amplifiers.
so you'll get a natural effect of acoustic piano rolling from left speaker to right speaker. I'm planning to buy a studio microphone within a couple of months. hope soon I can do a professional quality acoustic piano recording.

Good work with "Loneliness" and "Oldie Goldie". "Oldie Goldie" - good tune, excellently played. "Loneliness" - good tune, not so well played. But anyway, good work, Naveen.

Vijay,
Thanks for your feedback. u r right. In 'loneliness', I concentrated more on orchestration but I myself not satisfied with the way I played & the final mixing. Next time I'll do it well.

Both pieces are very good. They are more
powerful (single strong impact) than your earlier
compositions. The mood of loneliness is very well
captured.
Srikanth
Agni is a very good imagination. It is by far the best interpretation I have heard. The brass sound is very realistic.
Vijay,
I have uploaded a new composition called Temptation.
(Pongal release?)
Everyone's comments are welcome.

Naveen,
Looks like you enjoyed playing Oldie-Goldie. I liked it very much. Also, in the beginning I thought it had an 'Indian' kind of articulation. Maybe I am imagining this.
'Loneliness' conceptualisation is very good. I also am impressed with the way you had multiple scores playing. I think Piano players can think like this much better than others. The funny thing is 'Loneliness' gave me the impression of 'dejection' more. I can imagine a dark, cloudy sky by the sea side.
(I hope my suggestion for the UA-30 was good. I do love the piano in your compositions, its the synth keyboard which is out-of-place).
Welcome back Rjay !!!

Hi All,
Check my new track with vocals,
http://www.mp3.com/jsri
This is our first track in the series “FOLKAL POINT”. You would have heard the instrumental version of the score.
The Groove is set to a fast traveling bullock cart that passes through rough mud roads of southern Tamilnadu. A village peasant drives the cart with a group of local village folks. One of his passengers happens to be his girl friend. She is sitting at the end of the cart wondering what this guy is up to; he sings about the natural ambiance his cart travels through. He tries to prove that his girl friend is more beautiful than the picturesque route that he is traveling.

Rjay,
Nice to see you after a long time. Where did you go all these days? I'll listen to your composition when I get back home. I'm glad that you liked 'loneliness'.
Kiru,
I imagined something like this. I live in some town in Australia where it is hard to see any life within 100 mile radius! your imagination is also somewhat close to what I thought! yes, definitely pianists and organists will have more understanding about harmony and counterpoints than any other musician. Thanx for noticing the multiple scores playing at the tail piece. In 'loneliness', I strictly sticked on to the notes (including harmony & counterpoints) A,B,C#,D,E,F,G,A Later, RR said that the scale is charukesi.
Srikanth,
I'll listen to the song and let you know.

srikanth: "folkal points" is a very good title :-). somehow i feel the lyrics and music don't gel together. good shot tho'.
