Have a grip! Conducting a symphony by itself is a great task! Just imagine a group of world-class artists to play for the symphony for the practice and recording purposes in Hungary and if a concert needs to be held in USA, it literally means airfare, accommodation and touring expenses for 200 people or so! So, Concert in USA is an expensive affair and may happen only if there is big banner backing it up here! For now, let us concentrate nd pray for the success of the symphony happening and its subsequent CD release. At present, to my knowledge, only one such concert in Rome is on the cards. Thanks.

We will soon be posting the selected verses chosen for this project. That will clearly show how this is directed towards world peace. Pl. holdback the skepticism but sincerelywish for a Tamilian's attempt towards world peace in the manner known to 'him' and in which 'he' excells, all the success!! We all can make it happen! After all, world peace starts from within!! Thanks.

An interesting perspective about the versatility of IR!!!! ( after seeing Ti Burton's Night Before Christmans 1993)
Even after his multiple Academy Award nominations in 1998, Elfman is considered by many to be an outsider in his own field. Extremely talented in musical theory and performing skills, Elfman is self-taught, a trait that distinguishes him from every other major composer of his era. He jokingly refers to himself as a "Graduate, with Honors, American College of Hard Knocks" with post-graduate studies at "Nose to the Grindstone University." Defending his art, Elfman states, "Film composition is a unique art with unique requirements. It is not the same as writing a symphony-- something I've never professed to be able to do. Film music is written for no other reason than to accentuate the images on the screen, to underline the emotions of the characters, and hopefully, when we're lucky, to help breathe life into a two-dimensional medium. A film score is not 'pure music,' and should be judged on its dramatic, emotional, and/or visually enhancing merits."

In a span of 20 ys elfman created 54 films, immersing himself into the fictious charecters to speak out tunes for them. The faces music has is unknown, thats why composers like elfman say that film music is not pure music. In a span 30 yrs with 900 films to his account still producing awesome timbre tunes for film charecters in pithamagan Ilayaraaja had never said a statement "Film music is not pure music" .That still shows his love for film music on the condition if how much workmanship is made by co-producers in the film. I personally dont want to get plunged into rules made by man himself in writting a symphony, if i do so i will not be able to appreciate "Thiruvasakam in Symphony" when its released.

We need to hit our target on the set date. TG2RD is for real. You can call it whatever you want. The idea is is to show your support on that single day and maximize the donation drive. Much like the BBC poll.

Thanks to overwhelming response from most of you, the plans for a successful TG2RD are almost in place in most of the leading cities. We already have volunteers lined up for promoting TG2RD in NY, NJ, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Atlanta[Georgia], Indiana, L.A., Seattle, Nebraska, Cleveland[OHIO], Pittsburg, Houston[Texas],Toronto[CA], Montreal[CA] and we request volunteers from other states to contact us immediately. With all your co-operation, we are confident that TG2RD will be marked as a Historic Event. I sincerely thank all the 'nalla uLLangaL' who have spontaneously offered their help and services to make this a memorable one.
But, we need more volunteers to help those already there to make it even greater. So, we appeal once again to all the IIR fans to identify themselves with us immediately and together we will make it a great success and let our 'collective enthusiasm' and support propel IIR to Hungary in the first week of December to complete the symphony!! We will be providing the contact names and id's in our next mail tomorrow.
Friends, this is an important moment in our life time and let us do 'EVERYTHING' we can NOW to tell this proudly to our children LATER!
Here is a genius who gave us so much. Just sit back and retrospect. Somewhere in the journey of our life he MUST have touched us. In the moments of our loneliness... joy ..love... infatuation... tears..... and betrayal..,.his music was there to make some sense, meaning and quite often, comfort. Now is the time give him back little and say a thank you.

Sridhar, is the paypal thing on? If not, pl. suggest the easiest way to do the payment(for people in US) preferably not involving any postal mail. I dont see anything in the site (or in this thread) that describes the method of payment. Please ask the site admin to include this. Pardon me if I have missed anything.
