  Hello All: Its been a privelege to be associated with a forum that promotes and educates members on the literature of TFM for the past few years.
  
  I am delighted and humbled to have been contributed some of my thoughts on various mezzo's including my favorite artiste of all times Smt P Susheela. I would like to congratulate all the members of the PS forum (SK, Manisegaran, A.A, Raj, Kalai, Yvsean, Adhepalli) whose unwavering commitment/knowledge to collect all PS songs and distribute them passionately in distinct musical formats every week to the largest south asian audience, maintaining the dignity without excessive interference capturing listener's attention from the curent or bygone era. Its really a awesome task to do every week and to popularly celebrate the contributions of legends like Smt P Susheela.
  
  Smt P Susheela's music has been always a positive influence as she has dedicated plenty of pages of fabulous music to TFM and the country. The echoes of her voice can still be heard today, as she who had created a true "musical potrait" whether it be a warm embracing, unique charm, cavalier fanfare, or mournful song and her contributions continues to generate a rapport in the souls of generation after generation.
  
  P Susheela must be considered the greatest of the TFM singers of the twentieth century and the early twenty first century, and she certainly enjoys the the widest national popularity. Her achievement was to bring together the music that derived its inspiration from various composers with the classical traditions continued till date by IR and countless others.
  
  Her voice have always offered music of characteristically vital energy relaxing where an academic material on playback singing could be developed.
  
  There will never be for centuries to come, a voice like that of Smt. P Susheela, her repertoire, a celebrated artiste of our times, and an artiste who scaled the heights and achieved a greatness for over 50 years that is only now coming to be appreciated. She has brought vocal qualities of both romantic beauty and passionate fervour. To me she is a "Maria Callas" the greatest soprano ever to be replaced.
  
  With deep regret, I would like to inform you that I would be away for quite a while, and would like to thank you all for giving me an opportunity to express my views and my writing including passionate criticism over the years. "Please shepherd the camapaign for good music....and recognize the brilliant artistry"

  Kalai, the two songs sung by PS in Neeya are for Latha (Naan kattil mele kanden vennila) and Manjula (Unai ethanai murai paarthalum)
  
  The songs from Aattukaara alamelu, Thaai meedhu sathiyam, Nee oru maharaNi etc are very famous for Sripriya with PS singing for her.

  Subbu, I remember seeing this film Neeya. 'Naan kattil mele kanden vennila' was picturized on Kamal and the snake(Sripriya)-in-the-form-of-Latha! Kamal realizes that it is not his girlfriend when he looks in the mirror and sees a snake instead. The lyrics too suggest this - e.g., she says 'Kathai mudikka nan naalai parthirunthen...', 'Oru uyir vazhnthida, iru udal thevaya'.
  Kalai, Subbu: MIO says SPB,SJ. Another mistake, I guess.

  Sun TV telecasted Manadhai thirudi vittai film on Sunday (26-Jan). P. Susheela acted as PS for a few mins. Though her Tamil language (spoken) was with lot of Telugu flavour, she appreared very cheerful in those scenes. I remember Aananda Vikatan's review on this film.... "PS apprears with very smiling face and she can fit as a Azhagiya amma in cinema acting, if she is willing".
  
  One more I just want to share: This time also, PS was not awarded "Padma" awards. From Tamil films, TMS, Vairamuthu, Sukumari were awarded Padmasree. I do not know what stops the central govt to honour this melody queen? Any views from others?

  No body from the PS generation is awarded yet by Central govt ( padmashree or padmabhushan and above..) like MSV, KVM, kannadasan , PS etc... First time they have recognised TMS who belongs to that group. Let us consider this as a Good opening and let us hope, PS will be awarded soon in a bigger way.
  Behalf Of all PS fans We are congradulating the great versatile singer TMS and the greastest fan of PS mr. Vairamuthu ..

  Hey.. am just listing the songs sung by PS in telugu which were sung by other singers in Tamil. Most of the songs directed by IR !!!:
  
  1. Rasave onna naan eNNi thaan (SP Sailaja from Thani kaatu raja)
  2. KaNNan engay radhai angay (S Janaki from ILamai Kolam acted by Suman and Radhika in Tamil, Saritha in Telugu)
  3. Idhayam..... pogudhey (Jency from Pudhiya varppugal)
  4. Thamnana thamnana thaLam varum... along with SJ (Jency & B Vasantha from Pudhiya varppugal)
  5. MalagaLil adum iLamai pudhumaye (SP Sailaja from KalyaNa raman)
  6. Nanoru sindhu kavadi chindhu (Chitra from Sindhu Bhairavi)
  7. Dharisanam kidaikaadhaa... along with SPB (IR+SJ from AlaigaL Oaivadhillai)... In telugu, it is full fledged song not as in Tamil

  I remember to have seen 'emanukku eman' , a Sivaji-Sripriya starrer of 1980 vintage, which has a duet 'aaththOram pooththa malli, aalOlam paadum vaLLi' by TMS-PS. (I'm not very sure about the singers though!)

  CV, Emanukku eman has only song sung by TMS, which was with SPB (Eman + Manidha Sivaji). All other songs were by SPB. Female singer was only PS. So, you can assume that the duet was by SPB + PS.
