Dear Friends,
Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!
I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!
Let us all do it at:

Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

AY, that doesnt end the recycling.
one more song from that telugu film is recycled.
from his own malayalam song 'kOdamanjil' from kochu kochu santhoshangal.
this seems like one heck of a recycled album

AY, he is talking about saathiya MD who ,despite doing 5 movies a year recycled songs en masse.he is talking about BD MD who, despite claiming to be in London for a 'new musical'recycled 60 -70 pc of the songs.
Doubts cleared?

tamil to telugu
'jaji malli' recycled from 'enna solli'
malayalam to telugu
'konadamalli' recycled from 'kodamanjil'
all in one film "Ninnuchoodaka Nenundalenu"

Right..but they are supposed to be recycles. Saathiya is AP in tamil so no issue to complain. BD has 19 songs and out of which 6 are recycles..IN maths it is not 60-70 %.
And BD is again supposed to be like that as ALW only asked him yto do that..ARR made it very clear in many interview...Okay...leave that that recycle itself could muster 10 Millon pound...
But for other MDs Re- Cycles --painted , thoosithattified and oil pottufied....still does badly than the original...I doubt was regarding those MDs.
Okayaaa Nakkal Saab...

AY
Sadma has recycled songs from Moodram pirai."Hey Zindagi" came back as ""en vaanile" in Thambikku entha ooru.Mahadev even had "Antha Nilavathan naan" recycled.
Ilamanathnil ezhum from Manjal Nila was from Mohanlal (Mal)movie -Unaru i think.
Please understand that if Rehman does it,it is RECYCLE with a BIG "R".If IR does it,it is as per the Directors request...

OISG,
it is called recycling when tunes are flying from right to left within the first 100 movies-when doing 5 films a year.even the telugu song which was a recycle of kada manjil had a totally different interludes. That,to me is not a bonafide recycling like Jodi or star or sathiya songs.

nakkal:
You are cought tightly.
Jodi and Star - the rights were bought by directors and ARR himself mentioned that he had nothing to do there. In star however he composed one song and months before the film release itself he made that public so as not to keep people in dark.
Saathiya...come on...you need different songs for same film?
The problem comes when you have given one rare chance to compose for a alien language and you recycle all the songs in it from various film.
Have you heard BM's "Aur ek prem kahaan" . IR was given a chance to compose for a Hindi film, he simply recycled...This according to you is a mark of genius..isn't it?

I have also heard a few songs from some Telugu/malayalam movies..
where IR have picked his best tunes and fit it in...
what do you say?.....

oops....AY...in that case...just to survive in this forum....
i will go with ur opinion...
IR only wanted Telegu/malayalam audience to enjoy some good musics that the Tamilians have enjoyed that's all.....
he is not recycling....or even cycling ......he just....mmmm...let me see...what is teh correct word ....can we say...."donated"....his songs to those audiences?....
wil that do AY?...will i survive here...hehehehe
just kidding

Are Yaar,
It was Balu Mahendra who had the brainwave and said he used IR's evergreen hits in that movie. Even in "Veedu", Balu Mahendra used the "How to Name It" Numbers without even consulting IR, for which IR was really upset.
Hope u wont contradict that IR for one will never be short of tunes or run out of inspiration.
Whats the big deal anyway, it takes him 10 minutes on an average to tune the song and write down the notations for the entire score, interludes/preludes included. :-)

I know that vel and what I told about ARR is also facts and better you people also get that right..NOM..
Time and again raising the same issue and accusing a poor guy is too much.....If you accuse ARR for recycling then IR is equally guilty of that and that is my point.

Vel.....What AY is trying to tell is that...
that same reason you gave about IR..may/may not apply to ARR as well....that's all....
Anyway, where did u foudn out from, that IR was upset about the "Veedu" issue?....a fact requires a source?...and where si yours?...
i am not creating a havoc here.......we are all grwon up...so, let's discuss it until we all are satisfied with the outcome of this thread...okie...guys

Paran,
If each and every post of urs needs an URL source that u can refer to, 99% post here in the forum will be invalid. I read it in some magazine long time ago mate. Can't dig up sources for pete's sake...:-)
Are Yaar,
OK, i am game for this. If the question is abt "GUILTY", fair enough, here is my counter point..
May i quote suresh krishna's interview while talking abt ARR & his music in BABA & SANGAMAM in SUN TV..
quote..
".. Its amazing to watch ARR work..he starts from the scratch, and then he builds up on the song..copy, paste...copy paste...copy paste...and you will be amazed at the final song when u here it..."
Unquote
Where does your "guilt" index stand?
I hate comparing ARR & IR like this. To be frank, i am willing to discuss pages on some of ARR's master compositions. But i genuinly find lack of interest in this forum for healthy discussions. Aint it some sorry state of affairs really ?!?!
I repeat...get ur facts straight before u start pointing fingures. NOM :-)

on: Sat Jan 4 00:52:48 EST 2003
Well, Vel...thats' right...not necessarily we ahev to post teh source here...
and that is a big loop hole for us...to come up with our own ideas...
tell me one things....if anyone were to go and ask IR about ARR>..his comment would be somethign liek this
"he is a genius, he made us all Indian proud"..
adn at the same time..u were to go and ask ARR abt IR...he woudl say
"IR is God of Music. I have learnt a lot from him. No one can replace him".
these comments are meant to be such way, so each and everyone could maintain their good image.
so, these comments sometimes, not really what they have in mind.
Just a tought....that's all

Subject: Maestro knows us! Part - I
Dear Friends,
I simply don't know how to explain my happiness and the
transcendental joy that I am now experiencing! January 7 was a Red-
Letter day in my life! It is really a HAPPY NEW YEAR, friends! I did
not wish all of you till now, may be it was destined that I must
start this year's wish with this message only!
I had an oppurtunity to be with Maestro for 20 minutes! The best of
all is He knows me and about the club and He talked to me! I don't
know how to even type without tension! Each time I remember that, it
is still new!
It all happened as I went with Mr.Guruprasad Madhavan to Prasad
Recording Theatre (this is the place where many of the great songs of
Maestro were recorded)! I was walked through the corridor where the
screen was and into the area near the personal room of Maestro! Mr.
Gopal Prasad and Guruprasad were waiting for me!
I was getting into an initial conversation with them when suddenly
they got up - I was confused and made an about turn - There He was -
My Guru, My Musical (God) Father, My Breath and My Everything! I was
spellbound but little did I know that it was just the beginning!
Gopal was kind enough to introduce me to the Maestro. I wished Him
with joined hands and He reciprocated and left immediately asking us
to wait. He came back after some time. He called us in and we were
with Him - I was sitting exactly opposite to Him! It was really a
magic!
Gopal Prasad then told about our club to the Maestro and said about
what we have done. Guruprasad was great in His action of mentioning
our role in Rakkamma (BBC Poll). They also personally said their
words of encouragement for me to the Maestro. At that extent I was
really moved at the grace showered by the great Mr.RaajaNGAHM Gopal
Prasad to this humble Vijay in introducing me to the Maestro with so
much of a super-recognition!
I started to talk and said that I had done nothing personally and it
was just nothing compared to what Gopal Prasad and others were doing.
I said I was like what He said in Ramanamalai - 'Kodi Kodi Adiyavaril
Naan Dhaan Kadaik Kodiyamma'! He smiled! My lifetime aim was getting
true but I was really at a loss of words so that I could not talk
anything, neither getting His photograph nor His autograph!
Part - II to continue...
Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

You deserved that rendez-vous every bit!
