Dear Friends,
Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!
I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!
Let us all do it at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/us/features/topten/
Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

Sun News was doing a recount of the impt events this year or something and in one item, they announced tat it had been a special year for IR bcos his RKT topped the BBC Polls. I caught tis yesterday.
Tis is not the first time Sun news is reporting false news. Last year, after Lagaan had been selected for Oscars, they announced tat Monsoon Weddings had been sent it and there was no correction made either.
Thing is, they cud have featured this news on IR still, but jus stated tat it took the 4th place, rather than reporting incorrect news.

In this week's kumudam,
Subbudu has talked about general music this year 2002, and this time around he has reduced his "acidic quotient" drastically. Not the usual "pachai milagai" subbuddu, a bit milder subbuddu.
He has talked & praised abt both "IR rank in BBC Polls" & "ARR's Bombay Dreams & Lagaan"...says we shud be proud of both of these composers.
In a separate comical section of this week's edition (kumudam again), IR is termed "James Bond of music world"..and it reads something like this,
,,,never say never again is applicable to james bond...it applies to maestro ilaiyaraaja too...he has made a successful comeback (?) in TFM. Rakkamma kaiyya thattu leads BBC polls...raja raaja dhaan...

like the misinformation vande mataram is the most popular song on the planet?-I have decided to ignore BBC poll results that an Irish song is the top song.VM rules-to me that is the top song!!!!!

Are Yaar,
RKT did top the polls when considered amongst all the Indian entries that competed ;-).
Thinking abt what u just said, Polls or no polls, RKT and thousands of other IR songs will stay longer than just another 100 years, dont u think. I hope no one will contradict that when it comes to "longevity" or "life of songs", IR wins, no questions.
And thats why most of the audio retailers have a standard list of IR's evergreen compositions...all u need to specify them is," i need IR's (old) hits.." And most probably you get a reply,"How many cassettes would u want?" [A friend of mine got a series of 15 "ninety minutes audio cassettes" recorded without having to name individual songs...every song is a gem btw..]
Aren't we goddamn lucky to have this legend in TFM world...Hmmm..

tail-party, LLayaraja...very bad and poor taste. shows utter disinterest in spelling the name leave alone pronouncing it.
what next? raagaman instead of rahman?

Just a doubt ..avvalavudhan..?
