6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

ras,
I cant promise u the same thing that Dinesh did.
If ur looking for timeless melodies like KM, Roja, Bombay or Uyire.. nope. U arent going to get that.
But if ur looking for something fresh, a completely different youthful album from Mani and ARR.. u'll get it. That I can promise you.
Aayutha Ezhuthu belongs to the genre of films that can be given only one label - Slick.
Kaakha Kaakha belonged to that category.. Boys (minus the negative publicity) belonged to it too.
If u are able to listen to songs w/o ne preconceived opinions.. U'll surely enjoy this one.
If u still are looking for that melody.. AE's not the album for u. :)

Ras,
Now, people will prescribe you to listen to Kuthu, Jana and Adithadi (they think Roja, Thiruda Thiruda and Minsara Kanavu are in the same class). Because, that was what I recommended with when I expressed my similar views on AE.

curses,
Kaaka Kaaka had an extremely well composed number "Uyirin Uyire" (one of the best picks of last year, that made you listen to the song umpteen no. of times) and also a pretty decent song with a new sound, "Thoodu Varuma".
Please help me identify one such number in AE!
I didn't go with pre-conceived notions that the album will be rich in melody (In which case I wouldn't have enjoyed an absolutely offbeat "Garbagraham vittu" song from Virumandi or Alavandhan's "KadavuL Padhi" or some of the songs in "Avatharam" or some of Sandeep Chowta's and Vishal-Shekhar's numbers in Hindi of late.
However the music of AE has not offered me much listening pleasure (at least in the first 3 listenings so far) unlike most of Mani-ARR albums in the past. Perhaps they may feel better when watched in context of the goings-on on screen, but we are at present talking about the music, aren't we?

You must go beyond 3 listenings. It took me 7-8. Those you choose not to go beyond 3, because they have a "job" are at their own loss.
Though I dont much appreciate techno stuff, I must say Rahman has thrown me over the fence with this album.

ppl need to move on...this is music for the youth. If u dont like ur probably still looking for the melody-type music. like someone said before AE is not for u, go listen to carnatic or something.
I've listened to fanaah more than 350 times now and I absolutely love it. I'd put it in arr's top 3...now that's my opinion because im not really into melodies.
Listen to "hey goodbye nanba" closely, arr has done great in building up the "ohh"s from a flat pitch and ending on a high note. Its come out great, as with all arr albums u need to listen to it more than 10 times to start liking it.
The Blaaze rap is pretty good really...and its probably not of much importance in the movie. PPL who think any dj can put together something liek that should go and try it themselves.
And janaganamana takes this album to a completely different level...its unprecedented. I wont even bother explaining anything cos if u didnt like this one, AE is not at all for u.

AE -- Is another Mediocre album from ARR.
I do not see any rhythm in any of the songs. All songs resemble Disco type rhythm

Chomp ... chomp ... chomp (Sound of my eating my words!)
saNdai kozhi is by Madhushree. She is such an easily mistakable clone of Sadhana, except in the lower pitches, I think. (They don't sound all that alike in "naina milaike" from Saathiya, but I was misled here by her Sadhana-like enunciation and delivery.) So, Sadhana hasn't regressed in her Tamil pronunciation after all. The online versions of "saNdai kozhi" and "kabhi neem neem" sound a little bit like they have mild pitching problems with Madhushree's voice, but since that sounds SO ludicrous, I will give her the benefit of doubt and attribute it to listening online and on my computer. I may eat more of my words after I listen to the CD. Great singing by ARR in the interlude and in Fanaa!

Yuva mp3 out in coolgoose
The Hindi Lyrics and singing is not as good as in Tamil...most of the time the lyrics sound out of place in the song and unusual... Alos the lyrics are easily forgettable unlike in Tamil...hopefully the music will still hold these songs high up in hindi!!

A.R.Rahman is back with a bang
Undeniably, A.R. Rahman has done it again. And the songs of Aaitha Ezhuthu more than prove the fact, living up to the enormous hype and expectations surrounding it. When three giants - Mani Ratnam, A.R. Rahman and Vairamuthu - join hands to create music, expect nothing but sheer magic and Aaitha Ezhuthu is one of them.
There are altogether 6 songs in the film and the music has been designed keeping the essence of the youth in mind. A.R.Rahman has not deviated from his formula of composing music first and then writing the lyrics.
The best song in the album is ‘Dol Dol’. This rap, foot tapping, racy music proves why A.R. Rahman is still the numero uno. This song reminds you of the music played in the nightspots throughout Europe. And, don’t be surprised if it sweeps the Indian discotheques as well.
The song ‘Jana Gana Mana’ makes one dance rather than stand in attention.
No Rahman album is complete without a melodious track which comes in the form of ‘Sandai Kozhi’ and ‘Nenjam Ellam’ sung by Madhushree, A.R. Rahman and Adnan Sami (for the first time), Sujatha respectively. These songs are sure to find a place in the Top 10 charts of music countdowns. It is here that Vairamuthu’s class stands out.
Undoubtedly, Aaitha Ezhuthu is amongst Rahman's best offerings and is going to make the youth dance to his tunes.
