Karthik S;
Hello, SPB charan is into more acting than singing, I agree, but that's because he is not given chance, but all other nasalists are given a chance, why???
I mean a world famous singer's son is not given enough chance, rather disappointing is in it???, why ???
KJY's son may be successful in his native language (malaylam), if that's the case, then SPB.Charan may be successful in telugu, I do not know, here are few SPB.Charan song;
1) "kadhgal sadu kuddu" (alaipaiyuthe)
2) "thir karthikai theepam", naser film, MD illaiyaraja, that is first tamil song, i think!!!
3) a song in narashima
that's all.........

Karthik S,
although it should be obvious to everyone as to why i asked raghu the question and with his answers i hope the intent is also understood :)
raghuvaran is the prime example of one of India's ills. They desparately want heroes. The future heroes should justify and give more credit to their current heroes.(not competitors)
somehow! (and believe me there is no logic here musical or whatever) being a son of a hero is the only and best qualification for a future hero.
This family worship, which killed India from nehru days is because of people like raghuvaran.
If I ask him to list the songs that spb charan has sung he knows only 1 or 2 ("kaathal sadugudu") the rest he has to pick up from the web!
But he will pray that spb charan HAS to be succesfful and HH will HAVE to flop! irrespective of their musical capabilities.
He attributes all failures to some controversy or "veli naatu sathi"
watch some music programmes in Sun TV and listen to their voices. except for being spb's son why is charan better!
raghu,
yeppa! singer'kku voice thaan mukkiyam ,
amma/appa illai.
its like saying "ungappan thirudaan so paiyanum thirudan thaan"
renduthukkum enna vithyasam.
i can quote u quickly on spb charans ancestorial comments u made so pls reply with care :-)

Thats another problem with us indians.. We are so judgemental and jump into conclusions in no time!. We are comfortable talking about others drawbacks without even introspecting ourselves!

HI Karthik...fantastic expose of NS ! Just to be fair, did you also verify the release dates of these Arabic albums ? Bcos I've seen that many Arabs in the Gulf are crazy after Hindi films.
- From: Karthik S (@ 164.164.82.29)
on: Tue Sep 4 07:16:44 EDT 2001
Yes, I did. I assumed that NS might come up with such a defense. But that album by Abdel Majeed Abdullah as far as I know came out in 1997 while the other one os even older. The next defense NS could come up with is saying that they composed it long back and kept it in the tune bank 'cos they'd no projects because of the case and then somebody stole it from there!

Raghuvaran:
I wonder how you can be so confident of SPB Charan based on his father's track record while he's nowhere in the scene actually! Its something like saying Rohan Gavaskar will one day shine and become a bigger and more talented player than Rahul Dravid! Strange logic you have!

Deva in Virumbukiren (actually dont remember the exact name of the song - think its the title song) has used the arabic number 'habibi' (sung by Amar Diab, in parts. Though the entire song is not ripped, there are definite shades of it in the song.

Speaking of Arabian music, have you guys heard Cheb Khalid's - Alech Taadi. If you have seen The Fifth Element you could have noticed it being played behind the cab chase. Isn't that song wonderful? I love it

Found this in another thread. That the song 'chennapatnam' from Alli thantha vaanam (music: Vidyasagar) has been inspired from the song 'silver malare' from Lovely (music: Deva).
Could anybody confirm? I havent heard both!

Karthi S,
The first line of the pallavi is exactly (101% :-) same as 'Silver Nilave'., NO other similarity I could find between these two songss.,
Similar to 'oNNu reNdu mooNudaa' and 'Desingu Raja'

if u see the movie "darling darling darling" . The scene where "kalla patti" Singaram is introduced (comes very early in the movie). He gets out of a bath tub and dresses himself and sits on the garden with a pipe and in his radio he plays some "spanish" music.
That songs sounds exactly similar to the hum of "aiyyaiyaiyaiyaah" in "jumbalaika" song.
can any one confirm that. I had also mentioned this much before...
- From: Karthik S (@ 164.164.82.29)
on: Thu Sep 27 00:12:09 EDT 2001
Bharath: That 'aiyyaiyai...' stuff is by Gypsy Kings if I'm not mistaken. As somebody had mentioned earlier, it was also found in the BGM of the movie Bedazzled...when Brendan Fraser is in the Spanish tycoon mode and falls off the helicopter after, just before his Spanish innings ends.
But the surprising thing is that the part heard in the jumbalikka song sounds much more extended and not as short as the Gypsy Kings version.

Just for the benefit of those who didn't know regd. "kanavu kaanum vaazhkai" and "kasme vaadhe" being exactly the same:
it was an exchange of tunes between IR and Kalyanji-Anandji done in good spirit. It was not like a blatant lift. K-A had taken IR's "ilaya nila pozhigiradhae" earlier.
Similarly, KVM has used many of IR's songs and interludes from around '85 onwards. This was again done in a good spirit and both had great respect for each other.

i think "ilaya nila" hindi version(nile nile ambar) was done by Anu "dubagoor" malik. wasnt he the one who gave an interview saying it was an original song of his..just like "tu thu tu tu thu thaara"(rakhamma kaiya thattu )

digression: from TFM to Hindi.
The starting tune and beats of the song
"Zara tasveer nikalke saamne ..." from Pardes(shah rukh khan)
closely resemble starting beats of
"Velli nilavey..." from Nandavana Theru.
