Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

well actually, Boys was shankar's 2nd script after Gentleman, but he did not want to risk with such a script after a success like gentleman... so he shelved the project.... but after Mudhalvan, TI came up and shankar was shocked to see a similar script and was forced to change the script and it resulted in such a messy 2nd half.... this is wat shankar's asst. directors are telling ppl..... dunt know how far it's true.....

Piratheepan,
this is something like saying politics shud not be critisiced in movies. if a director makes movies on politicians critisicing them. the same applies for the politicians to criticise a movie. this is democracy.

MADDY,
r u the same who was shocked seeing boys and condemned shankar for such a movie. now u come up saying the movie is going to be a success when its announced flop by the industrty.
Hmmmmm u make all the forums interesting and funny by making such sssstupid statements.
carry on MADDY we all love u for the humour ur providing :--)

I dont give a damn about SUn TV Ratings! It is so stupid to see thennavan on top there.
The most palatable review I have seen so far is that of "The Hindu"s. Mostly it feels the same way I do. The script is interesting (though no big story) and the movie is excellently made however should one go so far in depicting things?? This holds true for Shankar and also Selvaraghavan.
However given the calibre of someone like Shankar I cannot believe he could not exercise some kind of prudence to tone these things. The song picturisations were really wonderful. Very heartening to see such technical whizardry enhancing the magic of ARR's tunes!

I dont agree with rajasaranam's view that politician's can freely criticize movies. Though objectively it is true that anyone can criticize in this democracy, politicians can do other useful things for the public than raising uproars about movies.
it just shows their "vettithanam"

Yea I guess thats true for Sandiyar too :-)
Still I feel Politicians should keep out. They should not use cinema to express their pathetic state of non-recognition and gain publicity.

rajasaranam:
Is all you like to do is disagree? Now really think about what you said and what i said k? Now if this politician complained about Gentlemen,Indian,Citizen or Mudhalvan it would make sense. But what does he have to do with BOYS or Kamal's new movie? To use his power to try and ban movies not even related to him is not democracy.Democracy would be leaving it to the fate of the fans.
Anyways rajasaranam i want you to really start thinking about what you say from now on.It will really help.

see mr.rajasaranam, i dunt like certain scenes in Boys.... but i want it to do well,so that ARR will stay in TFM for longer..... also industry never declares any movie hit or flop within 1 week... if they do so then their judgement wud be wrong...... also u remember u called Boys music a flop when it went to revive the dullness created by YSR,HJ,VS.....

V,
yes it applies for Sandiyar too.And i condemn IR and Kamal for coming up with already with caste based movie like devar magan which had stirred caste riots in southern tamilnadu. and this movie is gonna stir it up again if the movie is speaking abt caste again. while i feel Rajini kant is better in this area as his ejaman did not say which caste he belonged to and it was weel thought off. all the movies in the early 90's had a caste like kounder, devar tag attached to it. this had made those people frm that castes think they r some superior race in this country and tried to oppress Dalits more cruely than before but the backlash given by them to these castes made the riots calm down.
for the past 3-4 yrs TN is peaceful and the attempt by KH to revive wat he has done in devar magan is to be condemned and i dont want IR to come up with another crap song like 'potri padadi'. while his 'ejamaan kaaladi' is ok bcos it hails a hero, thats all, no caste in it. i think u get my point :-).
Heyram is a different story which i need to discuss elaborately.

Piratheepan,
let movie directors make movies abt directors, musicians, dancers etc., why do they make movies like gentleman, citizen or indian abt politicians who r not related to them at all :-)
critising politician thro the media movie is also unfair going by ur own standards and let the public decide abt the politicians fate:-)
