  are the songs envanilae varum anbae vaa(of thambikku yendha ooru) and dady dady oh my dady(of mouna geethangaL) based on same raaga? i suspect especially based on their chaaranams. if so (or) if not so what is/are the raaga(s) of these two songs...

  also are the songs koondhalilae maagam kondu (sung by SPB, i think the MD is IR) and swaasamae swaasamae(KKKK? MD is ARR), set in same raaga? if so (or) if not so what is/are the raaga(s) of these two songs...

  Kupps - En vaazhvilae seems to be a mixture of ragas - it is very difficult to say that the song is composed in "a" particular raga... they have used Shankarabharanam, Gowri manohari/Dharmavathi, Karahapriya/Hemavathi notes... (uses the sudhdha and pradhdhi madhyama version - hence I listed the combination)
  
  Swaasamae, as I mentioned earlier, uses Hameer kalyani and Behag prayogas predominantly...
  
  Could not listen to Daddy Daddy at both Dhool and Swara.com... lemme know if there are other links for the song... :(
  
  I would like to get the link for the other song you had asked for.. which movie is that song from? (Koondhalilae Mogam) :)

  Kupps/IR: Koondhalilae Maegam Vandhu kudipugunthalo kavi elutha is in Bilahari.Swasame seems to be like that song to me after reading Kupps. Other Bilahari songs are "Maman veedu machu veedu"(Ellam inba mayam - Kamal film)."Sa Sa Sa Sa Ni... Nivedha"(film?)

  Isav - Sa sa sa ni dha sa ni paa ni dha maa dha paa ma ga nivedha seems to be more Shankarabharanam - I think there is a line in the song which rules out bilahari... pa pa dha ni sa ri ga sa ri...
  
  I am not able to find the song: koondhalile megam...
  
  but... swasame is definitely not in Bilahari... :)

  Koondhalile Megam vandhu is Bilahari..Its from the movie Baala Nagamma sung by KJY and its hard to find the song on the net..

  Kupps, 'Daddy Daddy' and 'en vAzhvilE' have charanams starting with the same metre or santham and hence the supposed similarilty. 'en vAzhvilE' has notes of natabhairavi, keeravani, gowrimanohari and uses G3 in addition to G2 . 'Daddy..' is slightly similar but uses only G3 and no rishabham at all.

  "Valli Valli ena vandhan vadivelan than" is set in Sivaranjani. Other songs in Sivaranjani are "Petthuedutthava than enna vithu vaddiyakattipputta" from velaikkaran, "Anba sumandhu sumandhu" from Ponnimani etc. Mostly IR has used this for sad occasions.

  Ragasiyamai from Dum Dum Dum is in MALAYAMARUTHAM, a janya of Mayamalavagaula.
  
  KR has given it a real 'sexy' feel in this song.
  
  A Carnatic piece in this Raga is Papanasam Sivan's 'Paadhame Thunai Parama Shiva'. You can hear Sudha Ragunathan singing it.

  Sorry Guys, totally right, the Dha and Ni are Chakravakham ones in Malayamarutham.
  
  Yes, Paadhame Thunai is in Valaji, it's very close to Malayamarutham. It's another song I was thinking of.... Karpaga Manohara, which is also by Papanasam Sivan. It is beautifully sung by Sudha R in one of her first album releases.
  
  In the meantime, I think 'Kanmani Nee Vara Kaathirundhen' by the Maestro is a really wonderful Malayamaruytham.
