SIndhuja, Shivashakti is a beautiful raga - in the family of sriranjani, aabohi, varamu. It is a raga of recent origin and conceived by GNB. Varamu is known to have existed during Thyagarajar times.
GNB has also composed the popular Sri chakra raja nilaye Shivashakti... in this raga.
Notes: Sa ga2 ma1 dha2 sa
Sa ni2 dha2 ma1 ga2 sa
I am sure you could find Sri chakararaja by Sudha R or MLV in Music INdia Online.

This week's rudraveeNai-rAgam-senjurutti.This rAgam is supposed to attract the cows.
Scene-the man plays this rAgam on his veeNai and all the cattle come running towards him, surround him and get lost in the music...

This is what she has to say abt. the rAgam-{{This is a modern rAgam invented by R.Srinivasan.A modification of the MadhymAvati rAgam.An audava audava rAgam derived from ShankarAbharaNam.Ga and Dha r varjya swarAs in both Aro and ava.}}
So this ragam is the Ma variant of hamsanadam and Ni variant of Madhyamavati.

Yesterday's Rudra veeNai episode had senjurutti.
Two cowherd boys lose control of the cows, which
are running all over the place. Our veenai man
who comes that side sits down, plays a tune in
senjurutti and all the cows come peacefully
towards him and sit down...
senjurutti:
aavinangaLai mayakki kattuppaduththi Oridaththil
niRka seyyum rAgam.
I have been recording these epsisodes in video as
promised. The serial is about a mysterious sakthimaan musician (nicely played by YG Mahendra)
who goes in search of a mysterious rudra veenai.

Ram, MS and others:
A friend of mine says that the 'usage of ragas
to form moods' as mentioned by the Rudra Veena
guys for SunadhaVinodhini and senjurutti are
not mentioned or explained anywhere in the classical
music literature.. and that they could be downright
wrong. I wonder whether someone could shed some
light on this.

I was discussing Jinjhoti and Senchurutti with Ram after reading that they were similar at:
http://www.geocities.com/krishna_kunchith/rmic/rmic.1992.03.04.html
and Ni (among other things) are different. Then I stopped to read the caveat at the beginning of the webpage:
"The following table is from the book `rAga pravAham' by d.pattammAL and m.n.dhaNdapANe. It is incomplete (almost necessarily so) and does not (and cannot) account for the nuances of the rAgas in the karNAtaka and hendhusthAne systems. Take it with a pinch of salt." :)

Sundar: Yes !
They are the same.
http://www.funet.fi/pub/archive/rec.music.indian.classical/volume96/Dec/961228.02.gz
says senjurutti is jhinjoti.
More on the raagam...
The following page says jhinjoti has a carnatic quivalent jinjuti or janjuti (a janyam of harikhamboji-28)
http://www.geocities.com/spicmacaycu/raga.html
It lists Navroj too as an equivalent, but it is a janyam of 29, ShankarabharaNam and has a Ni3.
- Navroj may not be the equivalent.
http://www.carnatic.com/carnatic/ragalist.htm
lists
janjUti |28| S R2 G3 M1 P D2 N2 | N2D2PM1G3R2SN2.D2.P.D2.S
navaroj |29| P D2 N3 S R2 G3 M1 P | M1 G3 R2 S N3 D2 P

Interesting reading, Vidhya - Thanks. Ram finds some of the Hindi songs listed earlier to be more along the lines of "Amaydhiyana Nadhiyinile Odam" ... seemed like that to me also.
