  If you IR fans think that I was sarcastic in respecting your immense "bhakthi" towards IR, I can only say that your insecurity on being censured severely for over-zealous IR admiration is the only reason for that.
  
  I have a cousin who is just like you guys! He is a great fan of IR! He gets very upset when I talk about another MD. At first I thought he was just a whacko and narrowminded idiot. But later I found out that he really has true and deppp love and appreciation for IR's music.
  
  
  I cannot really do anything to satisfy fans like MIL. Even if I say positive things about IR it is regarded as sarcasm.
  
  I was the first one who came in defense of IR for his comparison with other MDs after Rajasaranam.
  
  Why the hell do you think I am an antagonist???
  
  Anyway I dont think there is anymore clarification reqd on this topic. It will be good if we all stick to ARR in this topic. Better yet if IR fans keep out of this topic as it is related to ARR and they are bound to get upset by some inadvertent comparsion made by some new poster with no bad intentions. Damn This!

  I dont care whether you say +ve or -ve about IR, it aint matter to me anyways, and that is not going to deter me accepting the facts and disputing baseless arguments.

  i think the sarcasm part lies somewhere over here in ur post
  ....it is kind of like you can be an IR fan only if you worship IR's music and it is a sin if u listen to anyone else.
  and i think this has made MIL angry. and iam already aware of ur sarcastic comments too.so tehre is no point in saying that u were not sarcastic in this post.
  personally speaking i like ARR music and will defend IR to the core when u compare him with ARR. else its fine with me.
  still my younger brother is not able to digest this fact bcos i was the one who introduced him to ARRs music and now he is a hardcore ARR fan. he asked me one day " eppadi nee maari pona? nee thana iruvar cassette ellam vangittu vanthu pottu pottu kettutu romba nalla irukkunu sonna, ippa yen unakku ARR pudikka matinguthu". i answered him " pudikalanu onnum illa, ithu enga mela thinikka pattathu ARR music naangalum virumbunom.... ana eppa IR music nalla illai, ARR - IR vida nalla panrarnu solla aarambichingalo appa naanga engala tharkathuu kolla vendiya kattayathukku vanthutom. engala poratha varaikum IR oru kadal madri ARR yeri madri. rendukkum namma vazhakyila mukyathuvam irukku - aana kadalthan namma vazhkayoda jeevatharam.

  i am too a great IR fan... but Arr i feel has achieved so much already which IR cudn't...
  my turning point of giving more priorities to arr was not exactly when roja was released but more exactly when IR flabbergasted about his overhyped bgm score with the hungarian symphony artistes... also about arr...
  the words were... "i am not proud to say i was the first one to write a scoe of minimal mistakes and not like some guy sitting inside a small room and creating music with computers.." do you now know the meaning of vaitherichal... this is were ARR stands apart...
  now that he's scoring for a hollywood score... he's right on top... next decadfe is enought for him to conquer the world.. btw those who claim rahman is not the real bgm king - listen to those clips in warriors totally mystic and situation specific!!!!

  BTW the BGM clips were fabulous and excellent[ though it reminds me of crouching tiger.....] but no way he can be the king of bgm. there is already a king here and everybody knows whos that.

  I consider myself as an IR fan.
  
  Infcat I am the one who defends IR to the core in the ARR group.
  
  However My hardcore IR fans will never consider me as a fan. These guys think that once I went off to appreciate ARR's music more than IR I am dismissed from the fan club.
  
  Ofcourse these people are the close IR fans who are known to IR's orchestra people and meet IR in his recordings sometimes.
  
  OK I will try to think before writing anything abt IR.
  
  Your yeri and kadal comparison, I agree works for you but certainly not for me.
  
  For me comparing IR and ARR is like two guys comparing whose father is greater! It is utter nonsense.
  
  However I will appreciate if IR veri does not destroy intention-less posts that somehow hint at him and his music in relation to ARR.

  ARR achieved more, because he copied more.
  
  IR strained to give a unique structure for the TFM. He composed in different style for different artist and directors. For example imagine the IR songs compsed bharathiraja movie and fit in to maniratnam's movie. Imagine to put the kamal songs in rajini movie.It will never will suite.
  
  All the ARR music is like english albums. You can fit any song to any movie.
  Example when I listerned the bombay songs nee chiricha mastana I thought it may be a best youth full song. I was imaging a lot, how the steps will be for that song in that movie.I was disappointed while seeing the movie, the song in to express the birth of the child. For ARR it is not a matter of BR,MR,Kathir, whatever it will be same music for all.
  
  If he is a real composer he should be able to do BGM on his own. Somehow he will make the song by copying from somewhere and he will runaway for BGM.For JODI deva did BGM, for Boys Praveen mani did BGM.And in most of the movie there won't be any BGM.

  Whatever said and done, for me both IR and ARR are great composers. However there has not been any human being in the world in any field say music, sports, politics, journalism, medicine, science, IT and human care who has given me joy and pleasure which is different from ordinary worldly definition of joys and pleasure.
  
  To me ARR's music is bliss. Something inexplicably moving that no other person can evoke.
  
  IR is a genius to me, but he is nowhere near ARR when it comes to kindling and evoking the innermost feelings of hidden joys and excitement. His music is only soothing to me and attractive to my ears. The only song that raised me almost to the level that ARR's chords and melody have taken me is Thendral Vanthu Theendum Bothu.
  
  Coming to the topic, I am seriosuly not excited by the samples of KKS. I think it is pretty ordinary. I hope ARR does some rustic stuff like Lagaan or Karuthamma as I am waiting to hear some rustic tunes from him. With his new style of experimentation I am sure he wont stick to pure rustic forms and will induce elemnts unknown to that style of music to create an identity for the song.

  IR is is nowhere near to ARR . IR stays in TN and thinking to creat on his own.
  ARR goes far away from TN to get along with the international tunes!!!.
  
  Just think how much time IR and ARR takes to compose for a film and how far it is their own creativity. IR simply deliver the music since it comes from him. ARR works a lot so he need more time. He has to find the suitable western music to mix it in proper manner and differentiate from IR's music.
  
  Thats what all the new MD's HJ,YSR,VS did recently. Now ARR music is not interesting like before.

  One of my favourite tracks of IR was "enthan poovilum vasam" from murattu kaalai.. what a great song was what i used to think about it during those days....
  few years back i had bought this mozart symphony drak season17. And the 4th track is exactly the pallavi of the murattu kaalai song...
  i was disappointed.
  how the hell could IR do this! is this a blatant copy or could it be taken as inspiration of one of personal fav's of IR. If ARR does create a small commercial loop whcih is popular. people blast him like what xml says as a copycat.
  this was my transition from IR to ARR. THE IR COMPOSITION WAS EXACTLY SIMILAR to MOZART!
  is it a definition of plagiarism!! and how could IR do this????

  you must remember one thing..if IR copied (although that seldom happens)..it will be considered that IR is payign tribute to the original composer...
  but if ARR does...he simply stupid..and can't come with his own idea...
  
  if anyone else copies...it's ok..as long as the song is good....
  
  u see..that's how these people judge plagiraism in TFM
