Hi! We've made a major addition to newtfmpage, and that is a big song bank. Dhool features thousands of songs for your listening pleasure. This site is a part of the newtfmpage.com - swara.com group. Together with newtfmpage, we wish to make this the best place to listen to tamil film songs online and know about tamil film music. Our collection includes old, new, famous, rare and unheard of songs. We are still fine tuning and fixing the database errors, so please bear with us. We value your feedback, and this will help us build the site better. Please post your comments below or mail to comments@newtfmpage.com.

  3-4 months back, some channel showed some function which GA compered and some singers were present. There was a interesting duet between SPB and GA which went like this:
  
  SPB : tere mere beech mein
  GA : naanum neeyum beachiley
  
  SPB: kaisa hai ye bandhan...anajaaaanaa
  GA: Sundal vaangalaama, ye maaaama?
  
  SPB: maine nahin aanaa, tu ne nahin jaanaa
  GA : .....Dhuttu illayeyyyy, ma!

  vijay :-))- You can say I have a fascination for banner names! Btw, this one was easy, I remember Manmanagan Thevai was a Bhanumathi production, and all her productions came under the banner 'Bharani' (her son's name is Bharani)
  
  I remember reading an interview of Bhanumathi, wherein she spoke about her habit of reporting late for shooting schedules- when she came late for 'Manamagan Thevai' shooting, Sivaji is said to have remarked to Ramakrishna (Bhanumathi's husband, and perhaps MT's director as well) "Akka (that's how he called Bhanunathi) indha lateaa varra visheyathilae paagupaadu paarkirthu illai- sondha padamaanaalum lateaa thaan varaanga!"

  AAThan is a harder hitting film at men's view of women than SNSM.Both the films highlight the plight of how a single woman becomes the unsolicited target for lecherous men's sexual advances.
  In the song "Uravugal", I esp like the flow of tune in the line

  In some audio cassette after "iRaivanaarin thiru kuraLilE oru sol", the singer sings a thirukkuraL, which actually not a part of the song, the person who has typed it has types the thirukkuraL too in the middle of song:-)...innum konjam sothappals irukku...if somebody wants to use the above posted lyrics, pls. cross check with the song:-)

  GA is one of the sharp wits on the stages. He had(s) an excellent partnership with SPB and the duo's stage magnetism is great > they can bring humour aliging as parellel or antiparallel poles.
  
  There are several songs where GA shone brilliant. Some of them incl. anthi varum nEram, athikAlai nEramE.

  bb- chandrababu is one of my all time favs. It was heartwarming to hear my little son singing "konjam thallikanum; angE ninnukkanum" the other day.
  
  pamparakkaNNalE should not evoke comparison with Strawberry... ivvidaththil kavingnar yaathu kURukiRaar enil -: her eyes revolve and scan like a top, (unlike those stupid fruits).
  
  [BTW, only those who were brough up with PIN Code 600 XXX in their addresses will pronounce bambaram, ballai, etc. South of chengalpattu we have only one pa in tamil ::))). I have seen one of my cousins attempting to make a 'Battam', with such unbearable heaviness it could never fly.]

  I remember reading an interview of Gangai Amaran, where he said he wrote the song "maNNil inthak kAdhal inRi" with the specific intention of writing a song in the style of his older brother PAvalar VaradarAjan. Also, he said that he wrote "sIr koNdu vA veNmEgamE" (nAn pAdum pAdal) with the intention of writing like his (and probably every lyricist's) idol, KaNNadAsan.

  GA himself had told many times that he wanted to Work with Vaali. He asked vaali whether he can be his Asst. Vaali asked what will u do as an Asst.   Apparently, Vaali once sought permission from Gangai Amaran to borrow one of GA's ideas in an existing song to pen a new one. The idea is "ninaivAlE aNaiththal". GA used it in "un pArvaiyil OrAyiram" in the lines "nidhamum unnai ninaikkiREn ninaivinAlE aNaikkiREn". Vaali borrowed that idea to write "enai nI thAn pirindhAlum ninaivAlE aNaippEn" in the song "nilAvE vA" from "mouna rAgam". I wonder how thrilled GA was, given what raj said about how GA wanted to be Vaali's assistant.

  - A decent song by Mani Sharma. The film *s Vijay and Richa Pallot. Sung by Harish Raghavendra. I remember watching this song in Sun TV, Vijay dancing in a way not much related to the mood of the song.

  hope VM would have thought abt ..Inangalile enna inam Pen inam a Great Tune by V.Kumar..
  
  Inspired by that he had used Mellinam ..

  & the best part is Harish Raghavendra who has the Touch of Unnikrishnan(not Par with UK) but makes the Song complete by his rendition
  when he sings "oovoru thudipilum un peyar..."it's awesome to hear him..

  who had another Song "sakkarai Nilave" hope bb will put this too as SOTD..
  
  The -'ve Part in both the songs is vijay dancing without any reason & doing the same in each & every film

  Isn't the interlude music from the 3:45ish mark a lift from a very famous WCM composition? The same was also used by KR in "Kavithaigal sollavaa" from Ullam Kollai poguthae.

  VM-nnu theriyalaiyaa? Thuppaataa-ndra oru vaarthai poadhumae! Plus, VM has recycled the mellinam, idayinam concept in at least ten songs by now. This must be his new catch in a long regressive line such as: vaervai, thaagam, swaasam, thaaimozhi marandhaen, thinniyae, konniyae...
