I saw Virumandi by paying extra.
Why KAMAL..? Why u proved all that told by K.Balachander in Virumandi VIZHA.
It is better to have directors like BHARATHAN ( DEVAR MAHAN ) to deliver a good interesting movie.
Virumandi was very raw and not able to sit in the second half.
Dont confuse the audience with ur confused state of mind.
Iam UPSET and my friends ridicule me as a fan of yours.

Is Virumandi a Box Office Hit? SIFY has reported it has taken a fantanstic opening among Pongal releases.. Any comments?

Thanks. Didn't you feel that the court scene was more impressive? I mean, the one in which the priest hides Annalakshmi's ring while testifying against Virumandi? That impresses me more.

As regards the BGM, Ilayaraja has preferred to leave it silent at most places. There were just a few pieces here and there that one could point out - the title music was the one that stood out and it has been used effectively in 3-4 scenes in the movie. As i said earlier, I missed those cool ViruVirumandi chants in the movie; that would have been great actually. IR sticks to 'silence' in a manner which perhaps he alone can. With 10 people in almost every frame and loads of shouting, it wouldn't make sense to have a music in the background. So Ilayaraja has done what he could possibly do.

I do know that rear speakers doesnt imply DTS and the same can be achieved using 2 channel output. I just did not know how to refer to the speaker in which the sound came from! :-) So I decided to say rear speakers!! :-)

some say virumand is great

as far as i know virumandi is being released in u.s. coming weekend only..tamilcinemaworld is working on an agreement with rajkamal to release t..atleast thats the case with new jersey..

Second Half boring?? ... I found the film boring when it started. Like, I was like "God, when are things going to start off"...but once it did, I was never bored!

How am I going to decide on the Box Office collections? I can just put across my opinion man. I speak for myself, not for the fate of a movie at the Box Office. I don't see what confusion you can have on this.

Because i feel pity for kamal i want the film to be a big hit but the reviews so for i have seen seem to be bothering in the sense i am ardent fan so flop will certainly bother me anyway he has got a long way to understand tamilians.He should understand that his audiences are not international.

unless he realises this poor guy he is gonna suffer lot.

Anand, You HAVE to see the movie. That's the only way YOU will know for sure.

Yes. People are saying this as if this is something unique to this movie.

That's not really a negative. This movie could not have been made without the violence. The violence is such an essential part of the film. But, felt it has been fairly contained. I mean it is violent but it is not gory. If you don't like violence in movies, well you gonna have to wait till the next Vikraman movie.

I don't know who these people are. I only read this on a couple of reviews. One of the reviewers, I think from Dinamani, gave Kovil a better rating than Virumaandi. I mean, that guy is not really very intelligent. I think it is quite easy to confuse him.

That's a load of bull (as in Raja and Surya) excretions. I am from Eelam. A Yarlpaana Thamizhan. Never been to India, leave alone Theni distrcit. I understood the dialogues no problem. If you speak Thamizh, you should have no problems with the dialogue.

Yeah well, like I said, some people are easily confused. The scenes are so clearly etched, that in many scenes you don't even need to understand the dialogues to understand what is going on in the movie. May be the final jail riot scene could have been shortened by a few minutes, but that's about it.

Yes. As usuall, Kamal is brilliant as a director.
