Yes! "Invincible" Is the new album by Michael Jackson. ARR composed a song with him for this album about a year ago. Planet Jackson has announced a list of 15 songs that may figure in the album (with 4 songs possibly replaced in the last minute)
Will ARRs song make it. If it makes will it shoot him to popularity among mainstream listners in the wast. Especially Europe and USA. Will it fecth ARR a new international status and thereby a chance at the Grammy awards
Most important of all does it matter to the Tamil Folks if ARR, or that matter any Indian is succesful outside India, or they dont care at all

What does that mean...? Will we have ARR with MJ. Great. I don't follow pop as I follow FM and CM. But, I am curious.

Bharath...did ARR infuse something new into MJ's album or are they using some old numbers of ARR ?

I think some high level management of Sony Inc. brought about a meeting of ARR and MJ. Basically in 14 songs of an MJ album he invites other upcoming artists to compose 2-3. ARR was one such artist like R. Kelly.
ARR has actually composed a song for MJ ( co-composed will be more precise). A complete ARR involvement wud be MJ just lending his voice to a totally ARR dominated orchestration and tune. Though that level of ARR domination is tough since MJ is picky about sound engg and arrangement. Since both are into Sound techie stuff it should be a good combo.
Cosmician
I dont think they wud use old #'s of ARR since MJ ia paranoid about law suits etc( there r many already)
If you have been watching VH1 and MTV this is a big album already. No matter however an artist is klicked arnd in his prime after sometime people sort of get apologetic and more affectioate (like santana etc) I think MJ has reached that phase where people actually think he has been harshly dealt with. (after princess di's death media hasnt exactly crowned itself with glory)
ARR's shot at any popularity wud be MJ releasing that song as video. And that song being nominated for a grammy.

cosmician,
ARR wrote a song called Ekam Satyam and performed it 'live' in MJs munich concert. Apparently the song is in English and sanskrit and MJ sang the english verses of the song on stage.
The song was written by kanika bala (the husband - wife duo that did Vande Mataram).

"Sukra Dasai" is running in ARR's horoscope at present. What ever trash he produces will be called music.

In a recent interview with Hindu (Last week, in the downtown section...released only in chennai edition) rahman has said that his song ekam satyam will not be a part of Invincible!
Here's the typed transcript of the interview...the person who typed this apparently wanted to do it first and didnt care for the spellings!

since u seem to be allover the world today can u narrate something abt ur experienbce abroad?
ARR: it is interesting to notice different cultures nut the common thread is music. it transcends cast, religion, colors, and everytghing else. when u go abroad and u say that u r a musician u get great respect. there is immediate connectivity. over the last six months i have observed the recording of John Barry, a reknowned composer, his friend Don Black writes lyrics for me and when i went with him i had an opportunity to c barry perform.
what movie projects are on the cards right now?
ARR: ri'm currently working on a few hindi movies like Ada, a new movie with Amitabh Bachan and Rakesh Mehra, another film with Jhamu Sugandh as the producer as well as a new film based on TAJMAHAL with Bharatbala. there are also a couple of others, which are still in progress. In the tamil film industry, i'm doing the music for Mani Ratnam and a film called Ye le lo with Parthiban.
could u enumerate the workings of 'Andrew Lloyd Weber project'?
ARR: just as the film insdustry is popular in India, and those days, plays used to be popular, this one too, is a play. u know there r so many plays in London like Phantom Of Opera, Cats, Glam is fabulous etc. London Western plays almost measure up to Broadway plays.(Laughs)
these plays are very popular worldwide, almost like a landmark. for eg., people who visit London to c the Buckingham Palace anf then go to c a play. Andrew was interested in conceiving an indian-based play. Badically, i was selected as the music composer for this play.
It is based on fantasies associated with the Indian film industry; about how every asian's dream is to make it big in the Bollywood.
we understand that u r working tracks for michael j album. how do u feel abt working with him?
ARR: this track is not for mciahel j 's album. Actually it is a track in which he involves himself too. It wont be coming on his album. It is an indian track, which is done for his concert. I think this track should be relesed after his album hits the market. it is a single and is due for relese early next year.
how do u balance all ur assignement for Hollywood, Kollywood, bollywood?
ARR: it is quite difficult since each industry is completely different.(Laughs) In my opinion, everyone needs a break. People need somebody fresh. My share si there and every singer's share is there in the industry. Wvery good, creative person has a share in the music industry. SO it is fair enough to give them a chance.
u seem to be using children for a few of ur songs. How do u find them as singers?
ARR: some of them are even better than the so-called film singers!
they r much more talented. Ofcourse, they will have to be experienced to withstand the rigors of the industry..

well! thanks Karthik S!
But ekam satyam is an indian song and it definitely will not be a apart of MJ's album.
1) there cud be a english compsed ARR song in the new album
2) MJ cud hasve used "ekam satyam" or some other ARR composition as part of his another song and hence thats the reason why ARR's name is in the credits list

definitely not, the quality of his music is good but can never match that of msv, illayraja, rdb, sdb, laxmikant pyaralela. also his selection of singers is much to be desired

fan,
if u'd noticed carfully DF'ers have been carefully ignoring "expert" comments about ARR.
get the point!
I used to wonder when people asked me to ignore stuff, when i was new! now I know why!
after hindi thinippu dont indulge in ur opinion thinippu
