In this thread, I want to highlight some of the songs from IR in the '90s which are brilliant but have in my opinion gone unrecognized because of the popularity of the movies. I would frequently play these songs to my friends who would not have heard of these movies before and they will be absolutely impressed by these songs. Pls. join in to contribute to this list.

Every movie of IR has been a wonder and every song of his deserves a page in this great forum. He is a gem. I would suggest more threads to be opened and suggest the following topics so that we can spend more time discussing than he took to compose.
Topic#1. Super Hit songs of IR in 70's
Topic #2. Super Hit songs of IR in 80's
Topic #3 Super Hit songs of IR in 90's
Topic #4 Super Hit songs of IR in 00's
Topic #5 Almost Super Hit songs of IR in 70's
Topic #6. Almost Super Hit songs of IR in 80's
Topic #7 Almost Super Hit songs of IR in 90's
Topic #8 Almost Super Hit songs of IR in 00's
Topic #9 Forgotten songs of IR in 70's
Topic #10 Forgotten songs of IR in 80's
Topic #11 Forgotten songs of IR in 90's
Topic #12 Forgotten songs of IR in 00's
Topic #13 to 16 Almost Forgotten songs of IR from 70's to 00's.
Topics #17 to 20 - 70's to 00's Songs of IR which can't be forgotten.

Rajanodu Rani Vandhu Seranum - Sathi Leelavathi
Krishna, a small suggestion. Please compile a list of the songs that people have mentioned here. This used to be the standard practice with "listing" threads in the DF. For some reason, people stopped doing it. This list (and links if available) will also make it easier for others to listen to these songs !

To Rajamani Rajkumar, (from the BGM THREAD)
On behalf of our Raja fans, I would like u to pass
the following requests to Raja, when u happen to meet him again. ( Requests from others too are warmly invited). You
can add others requests too and may convey to the Maestro.
i. IR has to Remix some of his old grand hit songs with fresh voices/singers under special DTS sound effects and must
bring it out in the form of albums.
ii. He had stopped with just 'How to Name it' & 'Nothing but wind' eventhough both of it had wide acclaim. It is high
time that he should start releasing more of such private albums.
iii. He must Release some of his best BGM Sound tracks in the form of volumes.
iv. He should restrict himself from doing music for new & unknown film directors and must concentrate more on giving new Innovatives, like
Composing Classical & Western fusions and Bringing out Ragamaligas with variety of Indian & Western Instruments.
v. By Utilising the Talents of Mandolin Srinivas, Flute Shahshank, Kadri Gopalnath etc he can bring out some of the best Musical positions.
I am sure these musicaians will be really happy to work with IR.
vi. He can release Bharathiyar Poems & even Thirukkural in the form of Melodious Songs.
vii. He must try to set up a Symphony Orchestra in India & I am sure he has the calibre to handle them & he can go to great hights.
Vii. He is the only music director in India who has given a variety of Tunes (about 3000) and still in a position to give newer tunes. This is becos of his indepth knowledge on Raagas. He has utilised some of the very rare carnatic raags in his songs. He can share these experiences with his fans. I think he can conduct Musical Interviews on TV analysing Carnatic & Hindustani Raagas with Great Musicians like K.J.Jesudas, Balamurali Krishna etc.

IMO, all the songs from 'ChinnathAyee' were great, but went unrecognized (may be because of the starcast). Atleast, 'nAn yerikkarai' and 'kOttayai vittu' were somewhat popular, but other good numbers like 'arumbarumba' (well rendered by PS) and 'nAn ippOdhum' (by SPB and SJ) went unrecognized.
