hi udhaya
thanx for ur comments
belive me it just took some 15 minutes for me to write this song
i was writing all that came in my mind in simple tamil without any peotic words and formatted it to be in madurai tamils slang
why i wrote this is because "karumaathur kaatukulla" song impressed me very much
how simply and how efectively the people are conveying the message through entertainment
these village people are genius
nice effort by kamalhaasan
even the song in anbesivam was not this much natural
but this is great,i really enjoy hearing the song again and again

MR,
The software I use is called GigaStudio. You can find more details from the nemesys music website
http://www.nemesysmusic.com/sequencing.php. Along with this, I use Garritan orchestral strings. Details are in http://www.garritan.com. The horn samples are Sam Horns, from http://www.projectsam.nl
I have actually developed that "horn" piece further. You can listen to it here :

comments welcome.
best

Srikanth,
You and Sunder have done your thing again. I'll let others focus on the musical how, where, and when. I want to focus on Priya, the gifted new lyricist you've discovered. Let's hear more about her background. "un muththam, unmaththam" is short, simple, and devastatingly rich usage. Hope she writes more. Thaamaraikku thunaiyaaga indha Thaazhaiyum saera vaazththukkal.

u, thanks,
in simple words, priya is quite talented writer. the best part is she takes very little time to write. being a singer herself, it matches sandam to the core.
She wrote this as a poem actually, i had a tune composed for someother song, it so happened her lyrics was a perfect fit to my sandam. A great coincidence, we just changed few wordsm, She is from NJ, we will be working together more in future..
and Sunder is sunder! he has raised my quality and standard to a new level. Infact I call my songs as "sunder hits" these days :)

Hi !
I am an amateur composer. I have composed a few pieces and I have it in a midi format (.mid extension). Does anyone know how to convert this into wave format (.wav extension)?
Thanks
Ramesh

here are a few tips
Firstly, I suggest you ask these kinds of questions in a good forum like www.northernsounds.com. I see that this page is pretty much useless when it comes to sharing information.
In order to convert midi to wave, there are 2 ways that I know of.
The (noisy) analog way : You can hook up your computer to a keyboard like Yamaha with a midi interface (eg from MOTU). Then connect the phone output of the keyboard to your computer mic input. Playback your MIDI file through the keyboard and record it in an audio track in the sequencer (eg. cakewalk).
The digital way:If you have a software instrument like Kontakt on your computer, you can play the MIDI file with samples on your computer and directly burn wave files into the hardrive. No cables involved and is noise free.
search the web for more details. good luck/.

Alright Guys,
Finally! one track after a long time.
I got a little chance to do music for a launch presentation for a company, basically, a 2 minute song to go with a powerpoint presentation. Written in FLStudio.
catch it at http://www.dhwanii.com/artists/eswarpr/ZealTheme.mp3
It may sound repititive, since it is for a slide show. Please bear with me on that. But, please do comment on the ideas and percussions I created for it. I wish to know how good I am in it.
Thanks,
Eswar

The sound quality is good but the the piece is quite repetitive as you admit. There is not much rythmically or harmonically.
But then, it is not fair to judge someone based on a score for slide presentation! it has its limits I guess!

Is this is a useless page?...Perhaps not because the fact anand replied giving a good tip makes it otherwise - isn't it?
In simple terms this is a very useful page where bunch of good people will respond when their respective expertise is tickled...
Key is to tickle them enough that the response will be hilarious...

Positives of this page are, its good page to analyse each other's music as they grow.
Exposure to some new talents, especially when someone like Srikanth here trying to promote thru his record company (hats off!), should there be goods. Critical analysis is definitely a must if anyone wanna improve /achieve something in this field.
Negatives of this page are...musicians here I feel should try and reach the greater audience than try and please a small community here. This page doesnt help people with technical questions about studio setup etc...there are other sites which provide good support for technical questions in respective technology or software
Said too much.. :) Too much for this morning anyway

What I meant by useless was that this page doesnt have much traffic. No offense meant to anyone visiting this page. Maybe there are other forums for composers with Indian/Carnatic music background that I dont know of ... thats why I come here but I do not see much activity.
keep making the music anyways!
