A great music director should be known for his/her trick on all trades when it comes to music. But AR Rahman is good only in recording crystal clear music. As far other areas are concerned he had failed miserably. Listen to all his village oriented songs same type of digital music. Even Deva and SAR do better job than him. What about BGM he plays the songs repeatedly. Deva does a better job atleast copying from Titanic or BraveHeart. What happened to songs based out of Raagas there also he lacks knowledge. What about his singing style man. Drs recommend his "Vandemataram" to clear Constibation than bringing out patriotism.
Discuss this fake, self promoting and copying star and remove his masquerade.

Good example ganga and very funny too!! you got sharper brains to better anyone i see here!
One more thing is, if ramu talks about relativity to komu, and ramu himself doesnt know what he is talking about, but only says "when u travel near speed of light, u age slower" by reading a few books, komu would think ramu is a fool. There is no education here when someone bases his points on what others say, but doesnt prove himself. If u want to explain relativity, u gotta know it first and then teach. Half-knowledge is of no use to anyone
Bhagavathar, if you are really interested in knowing things (or education as u call it), learn some basics of music first and then talk about it. Please dont begin talking before you fully understand what u are talking about. If others talk like the way u do, we all see only fights here.

polappathavan, Velaiyathavan,
I do not mind being your sincere thondan. But one problem with me is I make 'sameside goals' at times. This is because of the prevailing 'consistency problem' in all DFers. Is that OK?
swamiji,
I am truly blessed to have your appreciation. You could see that because of your impartial 'njaanakkaN'.

ganga,
do you think balachander who must have have explained the song situation to raaja(remember, this is a director who knows what he exactly wants from each artiste-if he had wanted a classical sounding song for this particular situation,he would have asked raaja and that is what precisely he would have got),vairamuthu who wrote the song, raaja who composed the music and finally the members of jury who gave the national awrd to IR ,are all fools?
If you think so ,then you need your head examined.
regards!

Chandy:
I substantiated my arguments with several examples but you seem to be blind sighted by ignoring them. Did you give any examples supporting ARRs skill in composing folk, Carnatic and BGM. zero. You don't have to tell me to be passive observer. I know your side is losing so bad because you don't have any thing to prove that ARR can be par with the elite group of musician's. You guys give just one or two songs to show ARR has classical knowledge. I can give 100s of songs from MSV, KVM, IR. What a pity for 8 years your great sound engineer has come up with only few songs in classical. It shows he lacks knowledge in those areas. You arguments remind me a old tamil proverb "No sand in my moustache".

qwerty,
I had my head examined at the same place yours was examined a couple of days back and the report says that my head has the same substance as yours save for some 'maNNaangatti'. I know you read my post in a hurry and posted something with a strong feeling of IR bhakthi. Assuming that I said baalachander, vairamuthu, IR and the grand jury are all fools, do you think ARR, his directors, his lyricists and the grand jury that gave him padmabushan are fools? If you say that then I agree I say this and since our heads are already examined and differences sorted out what do we do??
non-qwerties,
I have great regard for balachendar, Ir, vairamuthu and the grand jury and my statement about 'Thannithotti' song was about bhagavatha mentioning a complete album of Sindhu bairavi as classical.

I think, Tannithotti song is sivaranjani song. If you remember the movie, sivachandran asks for a song in that raga to offer liquor. Its a classical tappanguthu. Someone correct me, If iam wrong.
MSV, never got a national award. I dont know what it proves. But, it clears that there was a long neglect of tamil movies for national awards.

kk,
you have enlightened me. All along I have been thinking of dappaanguthu as some sound made of dabba. Now I understood the classicalness of dabbaanguthu. That too in sivaranjini.

Chandy,
I think everybody has said their piece. Let it go, guy. Let this thread die.
Ganga,
Weren't you the guy who claimed that your distractions were a result of useless fights going on in this thread? Weren't you also the guy who possessed such class that you got so offended by my invectives? I suppose then, your post to qwerty was a very refined one. And claiming that a fellow participant has 'maNNaangatti' in his head is perfectly classy indeed.
And congratulations on your newfound following and fame. With your brand of refined vocabulary, this DF is really going to go places.

Udhaya,
I know you would come back to settle the score. I have no pretense of arguing for the topic, against the topic, giving respect, decency of the forum etc. I never said that my distractions were a result of useless fights going on in this thread. All I said was if you guys argue without respect for the fellow-debater and pretend to be debating for a cause, what is wrong in my way of having fun? The remarks are qwerty were totally provoked and justified. Please go ahead and write anything on me and you are most welcome to have all the following and fame, if that's what irritates you. I do not need any fame and following and mind you, Ganga is not my real name, either.

But I see one thing - Ganga is more sensible and mature at handling a case than udhaya is. All udhaya wants to do is use fancy words to impress people...udhaya naanga kandukunom baa...

Swamiji,
First the classy remark about underwear and now I'm supposed to grow up? You should talk.
Ganga,
There's no score to settle. But you're being a hypocrite by violating the same standards that you held me by. Your grandstanding in this thread without discussing the thread's theme is what bothers me. Your digressions in the name of rising above petty fights is what bothers me, especially when you indulge in petty fights.

Thenga, Ganga and I believe in thinking in a simple way. We feel all this is fun...and a way to waste(sorry spend) time...udhaya wants us all to be serious which we cannot, but he may not think we are less knowledgable. Sharing knowledge need not be "serious" u know...and we dont need a "ringmaster" like udhaya
