To bring our healthy/unhealthy discussion on music merits and demeits of IRR and ARR out of the Thangar Bacchaan thread I starting this thread so that it would be more appropriate.
I expect people who post here to be fans and not typical fanatics. Expecially the young ARR fans and the "Theevira" Raja fans
Thanks!

see RS all the movies u mentioned were IR's movies so it is not a big surprise....infact it seems like a very cheap publicity stunt.......
in Deva's movie "Khushi" jyothika tells Vijay that ARR is one of the most favorite persons in her life...... does this make ARR the gr8est???

all the pun intended.

Hi V,
About Sanskrit and Tamil ....
You need to look at ancient/pure tamil when you compare with sanskrit because tamil has evolved to modern requirments and thats why its spoken by alot of people now. Sanskrit has not evolved for centuries... though it has alot of language branched out (like Malayalam branched out from tamil) and subsequently not spoken by many. Infact there are still doubts about origins of some of the words that are both in tamil and sanskrit and still being researched. You would find good researched archaelogical facts about history of India here: http://www.harappa.com/
For any language to survive it has to cope with modern requirements. There are slangs, dialects and different accents in almost every "living" language in the world. I dont see people having affinity to their language which is considered one of the oldest structured language (though sometimes it gets too much when good stuff of other languages are not accepted).
I also find it absurd about mic. and vedas ....
I dont see it different from anyone reciting vedas in temple or practicing in a patasala.
Infact some of the contents of vedas is just facts about what happened. This mic. stuff is kinda myth rather than real fact, I think. Scientifically speaking we should explore these facts and try things instead of just saying something should not be done because ... I dont have a reason for it.
Unless the facts are distorted while propogating vedas, I dont see any reason why common people should not know the good things in vedas recited by someone or some artiist using it for his/her artistic work.
I dont see any reason why thiruvasakam shouldnt be experimented by IR. Its like ARR doing Vande matram (He did it without distorting the content in his own way). Unless IR does not distort thiruvasakam for his sake, I dont see any reason why you criticize about this.
Sorry for the disgression.
Vatsa

Vtasa,
I never criticized IR for doing Thiruvasagam. I have emphasized that so many times.
Having been a student of Tamil and Sanskrit, i personally loved the grammatical complexity and rhythmic vibrations of sanskrit verses!!!
Shlokas of Adhi Shankara Bhagavatpadal are really too good and enjoyable to recite nowadays. If one recites them with the proper swaras they will be even greater!
I am not belittling Tamil inanyway. In fact Sanga Tamil and its complexities are very scary to me!!
However I cannot stop laughing at how Tamil people have no idea how to pronounce the letter"zha". They say "palam" instead of palam!
haha and the million dialects too.
Sanskrit being a Deiva Basha has no dialects. You can ask someone. I am pretty sure sanskrit is one and the same grammatically and colloquially!
The great language of Bharatha - Samskritam!

Agreed IR is the undisputed local hero in TN for about 2 decades.
But I will surely pat in the back the sane and objective person who agrees to this and also agrees to the fact ARR has achieved a lot out of TN in territories Tamil musicians never even dreamed they would even enter , leave alone ruling it.
ARR turned the whoe fortune of bollywood music up! and his bombay dreams warriors projects are just feathers in his cap.
I am in no way saying ARR is greater than IR becos of all this. But as an objective fan I am happy for his progress.
My onl;y hope is that ARR should choose to ignore silly questions that ask him abt professional choices like working in London, tamil cinema.
"Neenga yen tamil cinema seriyave concentrrate panna mattingareenga?"
stupid questions...

V,
ha ha and
northies who r based in sanskrit doesnt know the difference betn RA and DA they pronounce chopRA as chopDA.
and many people all over the world doesnt know the difeerence betn. YA,YE and JA,JE some pronounce yahova and jehova and here people mistake themselves betn jesudoss and yesudoss.
only a fool can talk like this.
the closest related sounds r always mis-pronounced all over the world. it doesnt happen only to tamizhian's. BTW 'ha' is vadamozhi sound and 'ga' is tamil sound. so if people r pronouncing ha as ga its ok.
u can also laugh at these things like, when listening when many 'brahmanaathu' people speak
saptiya as shaptiya
chennai as shennai
ragam as raham
sadhigaran as shadhihaaran
saadham as shaadham
.......he he he
a language becomes rich with as many dialects are there and it will live longer in history with people. while languages like sanskrit are not peoples language and its is not a spoken language anymore. when a handful of people know a language and that too restricted for chantings while their colloquial language is other local languages then that language is bound to be distinct.
and about non-vegetarianism V is inadequate in vedic literature it seems or he is trying to hide the fact that many hymns in vedas ask god to giv them good meat to eat[that too cow or horse] and somabaanam[alcohol] to drink. and the hymns ask god to help them destroy the dasyuys and asuras [ the locals or aborigines]. and their god is less powerful hence the aborigines are still present and alive with rich heritage now known as TAMIZHS. and it seems that the war is not yet over......

C~P, MAddy,
i dont find the way brahmins speak to be laughed at. though some hardcore tamizh fanatic wud say that. Iam a person who belives in equality of human beings. I was asking V to laugh at them as he finds that tamilians arent able to pronounce zha properly to be funny and he wants to laugh at them. so i thought this wud also add to his enthusiasm to make fun of brahmins too.
and i dont want to keep any language above other. as tamizh happens to be my mother tongue i love it. but i still like other languages provided it doesnt make fun of my mother tongue and say its better than tamizh. u shud be geeting my point right now.
Maddy,
i also hate IR for somethings which i dont want to discuss here but predominantly i love his music and him. its not possible for anyone to hate or love any other person 100%.this holds good for anything we say we love or hate. the rate differs like i love IR 99% while i hate ARR 99%.

Rajasaranam
They also say Shaniyane instead of Saniyane!
haha yea I agree they have an awful dialect too.
"Aham" is a sanskrit word for "House". So to say "Ahathukku Vaa" they say "Aathukku Vaa" like come to river!!!!!!!1
hahahahahahaha
YEa we can go on making a list on how tamilians are so irregular and yet they boast of their language while they have no idea how to speak it.
Malayalam is great in my opinion! SO is sanskrit with no dialect at all.
Ofcourse Sanskrt is the king when it comes to language.

OLD IS ALWAYS GOLD.. then crappy people will talk NEW is platinum and all the stupid analogies.
Maddy, why do you have to interfere in a question that was raised to me, kusumbu thaane?
RS:
Superstar status: I believe why IR is different, though many people might talk so indifferently, give analogies of some low class material, the truth is IR by himself is a colossal, he could drive the business (atleast did drive) which is the TF-Music Industry single handedly. Sometimes he was the HERO of the movie and nothing else. people might call it Kuppai movies, they were the ones who watched, padam mosam analum music gnani-gnani thaan pa nnu sonna peru neraiya, athu mathiri ippo oruthana solla sollunga parpom?
Atleast pazhasa pathi pesarathukku IR mathiri oru isai amaipalar irunthar, ippo irukkaratha pathi pesarathukku kooda orutharayum kaanom. though isai-puyal did some dramatic changes a few years back, now after hearing to monotonous MTV, V CHANNEL music, we find it not so fresh/innovative.
Athunala thaan IR is a super star, being a competition for himself and giving the best music, that is the most hardest thing to achieve. People might blabber whatever they might want, but nobody can dispute the facts.
