  I too believe Album is qualitywise better than KV (and En mana Vaanil or kaathal samrajyam or run) ...

  whats the relevence of the name album to the movie anyway? the story does not sound anything close...
  i hate irrelevent titles.. if you cant name a movie, then just name the movie as the name of the hero.. like the most of our un-creative directors.. and ofcourse our RK...

  It is depressing to note that songs are no more evaluated based on how it sounds but based on who composes it.
  
  Album is one of the best I have heard in recent times. It would be a pity if it went unnoticed because of the film's failure and/or poor reviews by these magazines.

  Jeera, That is the most unfortunate things happening in TF industry. People go by who did it rather than how the songs are. My greatest worry, all KR movies are quite decent. Only D*3 is mentioned a bit. I like very much about kadala*2, UKP etc. But no word about those films. Somehow YSR could break this jinx. I do not know under what basis the movie & song being reviewed. AV putting marks to movies for ages. No one knows how they do it. If you start putting marks to Teleserials also, then all Vikatan Televistas serials would score negative. Infact Director Mahendran once criticising about the mark podum business. Hell with them . Sorry for becoming upset. They need to put a big prominant disclaimer clause before every review saying that this is their personal opinion. One guy who does movie review in Times of India, will give great remarks for Khan movies, while use foul language in south indian made movies. Thats the standard of reviewers.

  Saw ALBUM yesterday.
  
  "The movie has got much better music than what it deserves"
  
  This is an OK movie. I would place ALBUM between [AVERAGE and GOOD] movie.
  
  The minus points are:
  weak screenplay and sentimental scenes,
  the songs are not inserted in appropriate situations(first half has 5 songs),
  Logic kickings in some places(common in tamil movies).
  
  Plus points:
  Music,
  Comedy scenes. Karunas always get claps on his appearance,
  A decent movie which you can go with your family and enjoy 'U'.

  Guess, if these magazines had made similar reviews about some good ARR movie. Eg: PP. It too had some great experimental songs. But some people here good night's sleep after so many days after reading those reviews. Don't mistake me. It happens. Why are you people bothered about what these magazines say. You know, one whou writes the review ought to be a fan of some rival MD. So no point in complaing. I heard album. Decent effort, but not a great one. NagaS compared it with KV. I respect his opinion, but mine is different.

  Please do not have assumption that anybody who likes KR music, does not like ARR or any other MD's music. Many people (including me) like good Music from any MD. I found ALBUM is better album compared to others like KV, EMV and others.

  What? 'KAdhal vAnoli' song padathil illyA? Who is to blame? Teh director or the production house, 'KavithAlaya'??
  It's the best song of the film and by taking it off, the makers have done a great disservice! I feel sorry for KR. He comes out with an inspiring, original, fresh work after a hiatus, and this is how it gets treated!
  
  ALBUM is probably one effort which was unanimously rated as one of the best albums in recent times by everyone in this forum!
  Hope this stumbling block doesn't deter KR from composing more such inspiring work in the future!

  Kaadhal Vaanoli song is there in the movie. It occurs in the first half; when the hero and heroine keep looking each other in the train. But picturization is not up to the mark.

  I don't know if you have a big 'vetRi sirippu' in you ... but I feel very sad for KR, Album is not an album that all magazines can write-off like this ... KR is really - really unlucky, thats all I can say !

  believe me I have read the sify review all I can say whoever done that review is a earless moron.
  And most of those self proclaimed experts/critics hardly know anything on music.
  If that person says album songs are worst then he must have stuffed his ears with tons of cottons.
  Pathetic.
  But Vikatan review had said the hero of album is Karthik Raja for great songs and bgm so all is not last.
  Wether its Carnatic concert review,film music most of these critics are so biased its time these idiots be challenged to come out with valid justification as why its bad
  I dont think everyone is a 'subbudu',esp film music is totally different place.

  you are right. most reviews have only stated that the music in Album is not upto the mark without giving any justifications for their opinions which only means that they have no reasons for their opinions. so, sad for KR for lack of support, but if he knows what he is doing, let him carry on to discover his limits of creativity, success of which - will be progress.

  Bad picturization could be another reason, however good the songs may be if it is badly executed then people who dont get a chance to listent the audio cd will hate it.

  I have smile not a big one. That too the smile(laugh) is because I could see many here having to take their own medicine. I am sad on one thing that these people won't learn. Remember how people ridiculed when some thread rated magazine or site commented about KV. I just want to state that the sites and magazines are as biased as you and me. So no real review any where at least in TN sites.
  
  I have already stated that Album is a good album to me from what ever I have listened so far.
