I read an article on Kandukonden Kandukonden`s audio cassette release function in todays online Hindu in "talk of the town" section.VM sems to be very much frustrated with ARR especially the way in which his lyrics are treated by ARR of late!. Is it his response to the comment about the so called `lyrics` in Alaipayudhe?. Infact VM seems to have quoted the songs of "kandukonden Kandukonden" as one those examples. Guys, any comments.

Well VM seems to be misssing Tenali completely!(todays HINDU)
Is ARR trying to do what IR did 15 years ago? May be a knee jerk reaction from ARR?
By the way," Ayiram kodi" from Karisakattoo poove is simply superb!

Suren ---> 'naan vakapattu' songula first interlude, Mani padathulla missing. Mani "alaipayuthe" song composing pothu yenge pooneenga.
'alaipayuthe' is releasing in Dallas this Friday. I shall give a revie once I see the movie. Mani is just too good in romance. Hope he doesn't disappoint as he did in the songs.

A big "hi" to all the musiclovers. This topic is an excellent one.My support is for vairamuthu, jeez this guy is genious. He has written one of the best lyrics of all time. His frustration with ar rehman is very reasonable, particularly with alaipayuthe and KK.I just can"t understand why this bloke ar rehman bringing all sorts of singers from outside tamilnadu. Its not their fault, because they don"t know tamil. For example this track 'yaro yarodi' from alaipayuthe is absolutely nonsense ,we hardly understand what they are singing. So in future, Mr Rehman would you please record tamil songs with singers who can understand tamil, thus avoiding irritation from vairamuthu.

Yea, absolutely. he is writing songs for all the times, "kannadasan sonnanka.. vairamuthu sonnanga", "ithu kamban kanatha sinthanai", "kannadasan sonnathunka... ------ naan kandu sonnathunka", "ennai mattum iruthile kandu kollungal."

So,
Does this feud lead to IR + Vairamuthu action. With ARR going to UK, does this favour to getting very good melodies from this duo, like in those days of 1980's except it is 2000(does time matter for delivering creativity?).

Is there a tamil word for Olive? I have seen many people criticise VM's lyrics "i viral idukkil olive yennai poosi sevaigaL seiya vendum"... I dont see anything grossly "non-tamil" in this sentence. May be, a tamil-word could have been substitued for "Olive" - but whether it would have conveyed the same meaning, if any, is doubtful.
The same is the situation with "strawberry kanne".. I am unable to find a tamil equivalent of "strawberry". But it is certainly questionable if "strawberry" is a right word to describe some one's eyes. "kayal vizhi", "maan vizhi" are all common forms of usage.

hi chandy and other friends,
u guys have started a very good topic. it is absolute nonsense ARR using singers who don't know (i mean pronounce) tamil. this female saadhana sargam doesn't even have slightest knowledge how to pronounce tamil words. her numbers with ARR are big blunder. and even when our singers do not pronounce correctly sometime. do u all remember the dialogues read by aravindswamy in iruvar? they were really nice lines but destroyed by aravindswamy's pathetic pronunciation.

sorry for the discontinuity in some lines in the above message. and guys, in the strawberry kanne song, prabhudeva and gang are supposed to comment and tease about kajol's looks. that's why they say she has got a pair of strawberry sized or shaped eyes.

Vairamuthu...a genius??
Vaayikku vanthapadi kaduppaadillaama aladiravaikku pEr velaiyathavaiyye, not genius. Kandathu kaana kathaichiddu ippa mollikiraar:-)). Whatever said, it was pretty rude of him to talk on stage about that issue, when he could have done so without controversy alone with ARR. I can't help but think that the guy was just looking for some publicity. I mean, just think of how many newspapers carried this news with scope!

One interesting observation on the recent `word combining' of VM: I'm referring to `muththa nivAraNam' in `mudhalvannnne; an extremely impressive combination of words, but apparently has a usage error (or suggestive mischief?) as explained below:
`XXXX nivAraNam' can loosely be translated as `relief' or `redemption', `easing out' etc from XXXX difficult situation, condition. Popular usages are:
`vaRatchi nivAraNam' : relief from drought
`veLLa nivAraNam' : relief from flood
`pAva nivAraNam' : redemption from sin
`dhukka nivarthi' : conclusion of the grieving period by the bereaved
Going by this usage, my `sitRaRivu' fails to get answers for the following questions related to `muththa nivAraNam':
1. Why should the longing wife get herself a relief from `muththam', is it so difficult a thing to tolerate, like drought and flood?
2. OK, granted she wants to get relieved of the `difficult' condition of `muththam', what is the suggested remedy:-) (This why I called the phrase a `suggestive mischief')
Can someone with a better `aRivu' (that is at par with VM) clarify?
