6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

"And all the reviews that said it's hopeless have been from Websites that have almost competed against eah other to put up a review before the others about Yuva. "

Who on earth is this pArA?
It is one of the most hilarious review of AE. The guy seems to have a good sense of humor. And his sole intention of the review was to make people reading it laugh. Thats it. Nothing to do with what the movie is actually...

Wondering: It is a "sick" pattern ;---) what can we do. MBA's are sensationalists pretending to be realists. all Mani does is sensationalize dull realism and copy Steven Spielberg and the new Spielberg, Shyamalan. Sensationalism of Spielberg like back lighting, oversmart dialog overlappings and intonations,
Shyamalan' quick endings with a twist. With this, Rahmans comes copying songs of French Madonna "Mylen Farmer" in Ayusu Ezhuthiyachu. What else do we want from MBA turned filmakers and journalists who are considered people withh low self-esteem (realism) who depend on party people and sensationalists like Mani Rathnam.
I WANT ORIGINALITY, SIR, ORANGE NAAL TEA, AYYA.

J Uthaman/Awe always remained in own small IR-centric world, constantly exhibited his bitterness towards more educated, civilised, successful people.
Looks like JU has managed a successor!

After seeing AE, all I can say (IMHO) Mani is fading down the alley. This is not surprise and it happened to all the stalwart directors of Tamil cinema. Be it Sridhar, Mahendran, Balachandar or Bharathiraja, their creativity note had a noticeable fall. You could see it for yourself in their last 2-3 movies.
For Mani it all started with Alaipayuthe, where he collaborated Mouna Ragam with Idhayathai Thirudathe. His next movie KM was the most irritating of him I've seen. I just cannot see an Einstein in that 8 yr old girl he tried to project.

at the end in yuva, a SI come to abishek. Says, tomorrow you will be hanged. And AB does not care abt it. so, he is still a don care master. Is that same in AE also with maddy? is ther such scene at end of AE

Thamizhan:
--- BTW even Mani himself has never declared that the movie is his own and all that bluffs, even in the interview b4 the movie's premiere,Ratnam said that his movie will be very close to 'Rashomon' than 'Amores perros',whatever be it...,Ratnam acknowledges that its a inspirational venture(well,in other words ppl like calling it as lifting)...this is much decent than Kamal's case in 'Virumaandi' where the man cleverly followed the technique from Kurosawa's Rashomon but maintained it as though he did it all.
Can I ask you one thing? Did ever ratnam admit anywhere that Godfather was his inspiration for Nayagan/Agni Natchathram's hospital sequence (where they replace his dad to a new room just like done in godfather)? Kamal has lifted but Maniratnam has done that too.. I don't know why you always bring down Kamal alone in this issue.
In AE/Yuva, RKC has copied/adopted the same cinematography technique used in Amelie (which is a lovely entertainer). Has he acknowledged his insipiraton? Not yet, he talks like he did it for the first time.

Kamal&Mani bashing has really gone beyond tolerance levels in this forum.First i would like to ask ppl to list the scenes that was common between Avvai&Mrs.Doubt fire.As far as i am concerned expect the basic story, the screenplay for Avvai was original. Also,Kamal never gave any interviews before Virumaandi where he told anything about the style of presentation.Even after release i have not read any interview which goes in detail about the making of the film,so where is the question of him bragging.Coming back to AE,i saw the movie yesterday&was fully satisfied with it.The screenplay was on target, the pacing was right, performances was outstanding, technical aspects was as usual damn good&Except the age of Siddharth in relation to standing for election i can't think of any major flaw.Even the ending was smooth&the entire 2hrs 45min was a very satisfying experience. So what's all this fuss all about?I believe Mani is a damn good director&this movie has only strenghtened my view irrespective of what the Taran Adarsh's,Normal man's,Gyan's,wonderings's,Aswathama's etc of this world tell me.

Aish, don't u think the ratings are unfair- just in terms of sms-ing up "ARUL" it gets 1st place and pushes down the 2nd place Nenjamellam to 3rd! Its good that finally Fanah got a place in top 10.. Arul doesn't deserve that position. These dumb people who go after "Masala.." might as well go and stay in the cookeries

A big time director falls flat by showing 22 year old students competing in election. It is a BIG FLAW...
