Yea Bombay Dreams.. is probably one of the worst album.. i have ever heard.. I heard just once.. yuk.. Just as i was wondering if anything can go worse than BD.. ARR didn't disappoint me.. he came out with Baba... It hit the bottom...
All Baba cassettes were illegally forced to buy..
Without even look at cassette cover they bought it. By now all the cassettes must have reached koovam river. Bombay Dreams.. Get out of your illusion folks..

Uthaman, what is wrong with you?
You are in a complete state of denial!
Did you see that Bombay Dreams is the No. 1 musical in UK now?
As for Baba, the songs captures top three spots in TFM page: http://la20.newtfmpage.com/
(Ivan & En Mana Vanile are not even in the running)
I ask you again: Are you on some kind of grass?

I think this Ayo and God should take some therapy..
Don't you guys have any other job other than this?
Where are you from? I saw Baba couple of weeks back in theater. Nobody liked the songs. The following comment was in theater
" Padathukku yaru kusic Devava"
This is 100% true .. That was the kind of response.. God change your lifestyle. I guess you are still searching for a job right? Better do some useful work or put some useful postings.. instead of launching personal attacks. You guys poked your nose in all the threads... I don't know why this Ayo is obsessed with the word 'kadi nai'.. Valarungal Tamilargale... Ippadi Kurugiya Manapanmaiyodu irundhal... you will never come up in life..

Sasi, that you have selective reprimanding words, is evident enough about your sense of judgement on Baba songs.
So, take a hike.

"... there is much to admire in Bombay Dreams - notably Rahman's wonderfully fresh, exciting and sometimes yearningly romantic score, in which traditional Indian sounds are brilliantly combined with the beats of modern dance music

And it brings to a mainstream audience the astounding musical talent of A R Rahman... Rahman's riffs, Westernised ragas and thumping, rhythmically shifting chorales, with beautiful little vocal variations and wrenching key changes worthy of Lloyd Webber himself at his best, is continuously beguiling.

Guys, why are you wasting your time on Ivan, avan and such stupid stuff?
Fact is no one outside this forum talks about Ivan. "
Nice Try God.. Ok coming to Bombay Dreams..
Richard Morrison of The London Times: "Because the heart wants Bombay Dreams to succeed, this is a hard review to write. Heaven knows, the musical theatre badly needs fresh ideas, and Lord Lloyd-Webber's £4.5 million baby is nothing if not brave and different? Consider the writing talent that Lloyd-Webber assembled for this show: the film director Shekhar Kapur; the veteran lyricist Don Black; the Goodness Gracious Me creator Meera Syal. Then consider the results. Scenes that lurch into each other like blind elephants. A plot that disintegrates into a ragbag of sitcom skits on Miss World, women's lib and the like. The lamest ending in West End history. Trite lyrics. Cardboard characters. Dialogue that would test the patience of Mother Teresa."
TESTING THE PATIENCE OF MOTHER TERESA good one..
Rhoda Koenig of the Independent: "A £4m budget, a large cast, a story about the mad Indian movie-making industry--Bombay Dreams may have the right ingredients, but the whole samosa is less than the sum of its parts. It suffers from an uncertain tone, an identity crisis that isn't much of a drama. The show leaves one unmoved despite all the colour and movement--and there isn't even enough of that. Meera Syal's book has plenty of tart lines. 'Goddess of love!' a non-fan sneers at a movie queen's sobriquet. 'Of love handles, more like.' But she is less successful at the big, heartfelt emotion this kind of show needs, settling instead for unconvincing sentimentality."
If you want to watch musicals watch movies like Sound Of Music which ran for 4 years non stop, My Fair Lady, Singing in the rain.. Some people have seen Sound of Music more than 200,300 times.. The some people i mentioned are Indians who live in U.S. Musicals mean even conversation is done musically. Not with additions of junk music like Shakalaka baby.. sure watching any damn music live will be fun since the sound effects will cheat you.
But is it worth? Absoultely not.. All the Indians felt cheated.. because of his recycled songs. For the whites who visited the show with Indian friends
must have been a nightmare. U.K people usually have kind words for these new fusion attempts.. but even then it is heading towards a disaster.. Since so much money has been sent.. Shekar Kapoor and AWL are at wits end how to recover it. This is what my cousin who visited the show had to say "It was one of those stupid hindi love storie with recycled music." Generally nobody liked it..

Who the hell cares about Bombay Dreams the stage play?
The music seems to have taken everyone by storm, as is evident by the ratings, except...for some people here.
Awe, why are you trying so hard to put ARR down?

how wud u like it if ppl come to IR threads and post %^*$%#$%^#$ msgs like u do??
as a matter of fact, u'd understand it only if someone gave u a taste of ur own medicine....
but then, ARRFs dont stoop to such a low level.
So pls.. get the hell out and dont come back.

EMV caste sale stories are all merely a hype. If world wide sales of EMV achieves 5% of Baba sales, then its worth talking about these songs. Till that we can assume that these songs are for donkeys only!!!
"
Yea this was a new level set by your friend ST in EMV review...
