I'm a new visitor to this website. I couldn't see anyone discussing about Vani Jayaram's songs.
Let me start this one.(It had been there previously pls. forgive me!)

  Suresh, could you please tell me where these potshots are ?? My apologies, in advance...but I seriously am unaware of any such slurs...unless you mean the Mammiperumari thing?? We were discussing (cf. Priya and Neel D's posts) "mukkal mungagals" and it was in that context - to distinguish between gimmicks and versatility, that I mentioned it. What's wrong with stating that?? Is that fanaticism?
  How come my other posts regarding SJs songs (in a few other threads) and my interest/admiration for them is overlooked?

  kik, yahoo lists your folder as empty. I had the same problem with my account. even after I declare my folders as public, others couldn't access it unless I post the actual links to the songs. I think you can only share jpeg images. for other file types, you'll have to send the direct links themselves.

  Naaz, "kArththigai mAdham" - there is no mention of the MD in the credits. The other singer's name is Vidhya. The song has a nice mood and rhythm.

  I am glad you pointed that out, Neel, as I thought the other (mostly humming) voice was not VJs. I did enjoy the song. It had traces of an old hindi tune, which I can't recall...but if it does crystalise, I'll try to give you the cross-reference. The first song from Uzhaikkum Karangal sound fine qualitywise. The pazhathottam song was a bit static-y. I can't speak for others, but I do visit your site every morning and listen to your latest additions with my hot mug of java. Bliss! :-)

  Does anyone here have the KJY-VJ duet "Thangaththil Mugam Yeduthu..." from Madurai Meeta Soundarapandiyan - in mp3 format? Or is there someplace that you know of where I might be able to download this number? I'd appreciate your input. And thanks in advance!

  kik, try accessing your briefcase without logging on. you'll not be able to see the songs. the problem is yahoo does not allow anything other than jpeg images to be shared. Instead try this:

  OISG - thanks for point it out. I guess you are right. I was confusing that song with another duet by VJ-KJY "Thendralil Aadum Koondhalai Kandaen" from Madurai Meeta...
  GV - yes I have listened to the realaudio version. I am looking of for a copy for my collection...any idea where I might find a download-able site?

  Here's a request/idea for participants in this thread:
  Neel D's Webpage of VJ's Rare songs is an admirable and commendable venture. It needs all the PR/publicity it can get. Could we all please commit to sending the information regarding this page to all interested/likeminded individuals in a address-books?
  Also ask those recipients to forward the info to those in their know....a sort of chain press release?
  I think the site deserves many many discerning listeners...and I have no doubts that the posters in this thread will agree.

  I am in the East Coast.(close to the capital!!!!). Only problem is weekends I am busy at home running after my 3 1/2 yr old. That is why you never see any postings of mine during the weekend! I will try my best to tune in on the 14th. Just send out the details once again.
