Folks
Have you listened to the 18 Vayathil from Kaathal Kondaen. The starting music for 10 secs sounds exactly the Bailamore music from Kaathal Virus. Both the MDs getting inspired from some other source or is it another case of using the same pre-recorded loops ?????

Kamal’s New Film
By Moviebuzz
The Cassandra's can take a walk! Kamalhassan, the actor’s actor is all set to launch his new film under his own Raj Kamal Films. And the big news is that, he will be directing the film himself.
The film titled Chandiyar is the story of three Chenda (drum) artistes and their adventures. All the three are dark, evil and villainous characters. A Mumbai based actress will be the heroine. The shooting will start in April.
Kamalhassan, Satyaraj and Nasser play the three villainous characters. This combination is deadly and a welcome change from the usual mix. The music of Chandiyar will be by Ilayaraja. We can expect a lot of classical tunes for sure.
Hats off to Kamal for taking this bold and daring step, which we hope, will pay rich dividends at the box-office.

Maverick!
I read Bailamore is inspired from Album Saint. I have not heard 18 vayithil. May be both ARR and YSR inspired from same source.

>>>I read Bailamore is inspired from Album Saint.
This was an allegation leveled by a reviewer in ET or other news paper. Karthik S gave a fitting reply.
Still this falacy makes its rounds.

NagaS,
I am quite disappointed with 'Popcorn' especially for a musical film. A staunch supporter like Nasser deserved much better treatment.

STS,
I felt that the songs were wasted in the movie. The music was adequate though nothing great. And the picturisation of the "Kathalagi Kanithu" song was such a big disappointment.I sat thro' the movie only for watching the picturisation of that song and I was terribly frustrated after c'ing the song.Nasser shld have had a better screenplay b4 doing a movie like this. All IMHO.
Raagam.

"Kaadhal kondaen" is the second venture of the "Thulluvatho Ilamai" team, who made everyone raise their eyebrows by their trendsetter, blockbuster film produced in shoestring budget. Yuvan's youthful music was one of the main reasons for the success of the film and here too, Yuvan's involvement is apparent. Fivestar audio has released this album at a lowprice and it's already selling like hotcakes.
The album begins with "Devadaiyai Kandaen" beautifully rendered by Harish Ragavendra. The song is penned by Na.Muthukumar. This is a very catchy number which will get on you on first listening itself. After seeing his girl, the boy adores her and explains the reactions she had caused in him. Harish's voice is very charming and the slight nasalization adds to the feel of the song. This is sure to be a chart buster and is the pick of the album.
Next comes "Manasu rendum" sung by Shankar Mahadevan and lyrics by Pazhanibarathi. Nowadays Shankar Mahadevan's voice features in every album of Yuvan. Here too he has done a good job. He strains a bit to imitate Yuvan's way of singing at places. The charanam part of the song is more interesting and enjoyable.
Next comes a cool melody which is a piece of cake for Yuvan. "Nenjodu" by Sujatha and UnniKrishnan takes off with cool piano and guitar bits and the songs is sure to steal many hearts. After a long time, we get to hear the mesmerising voices of Unni krishnan and Sujatha in a song.
B side starts with "Kaadhal kaadhal" by Vijay Yesudas and easy lyrics by Pazhanibarathi. Once Ilaiyaraja and K.J.Jesudas combo ruled the tamil film music and gave some unforgettable numbers and now their kids are doing the same here. The song is a peppy one which is sung effortlessly by Vijay Yesudas. His voice is very much under his control that it easily soars to high pitch and comes down casually.
"Thottu Thottu" again by Harish Ragavendra is a variety song with haunting interludes and beautiful charanam part. Then comes the theme music of the album which resembles interludes from "Poi solla" song from April Mathathil, played in fast tempo.
"18 vayadhil" by Yuvan shankar begins with the beats which will remind you of the FTV style Bailamore song in "Kaadhal Virus". Better Yuvan should stop singing and spoiling his own songs. The song is a dance number and may become a chartbuster
The recording quality is amazingly good compared to other recent Yuvan's albums. Except for the "18 vayadhil" song, all the songs have decent and poetic lyrics. Thank God! none of the singers are from North and they don't mince over poor tamil. Every month, a Yuvan's album gets released and still he strives hard to maintain his quality. If he avoids some repetitions in his tunes and quits singing, he is sure to be the number one in TFM soon.

Are Yaar,
Who is Karthick S and to whom he gave fitting reply?
I have a feeling you are more biased to ARR.
- From: Are Yaar (@ 203.115.31.67)
on: Fri Feb 14 22:42:52 EST 2003
Anbe Sivam:
Yes I am biased to ARR. If you have not known that before then I can't help that. But I have not unreasonably biased as some here in the other camp. I become more biased when I see my man being attacked for no reason of his. Situation for me determines my degree of biasness.
Okay..Karthik S is a well known person here. He is the creator and maintainer of www.geocities\i2fs site. It has all the details about copies, inspirations and coincidence.
He points out these songs with apt examples.
His site had a mention in Tamil weekly Anandha Vikadan and they said that they couldn't believe certain things but when they heard the song clips in that site, they could not resist believing.
This issue regarding KV and Bailamore was brought up by a reviewer in ET magazine. Karthik S exactly spotted that song and concluded giving examples that there was no similarity. you can go to that site and check.
Mind you he doesn't spare ARR, IR or any body.
He is a ARR's fan though....but as it is natural with All ARR fans he respects other MDs too and critisises ARR when ever he errs.
