  muLLillA rOjA is again one of those early
  songs for SPB. The actor in that song is Sivakumar.
  Perhaps SPB was doing some voice modulation to
  suit the actor, in that song.
  
  Have you heard the song, Aramba kAlam oru pakka
  thALam, adhuthAn kAdhal paNpAdu by KJJ and VJ
  in 'payaNam'? It was a bigger hit than thendralukku.

  1. Vasantha's humming is definitely lovely. That is why I have been looking for 'ponguthe punnagai'. She sang a few lines in that song. 'inru mudhal selvamidhu' humming is also by vasantha. listen to that 'chum chum chum chum chum chum chum'
  
  2.SPB in an interview said and again in a light music programme confirmed that the first song he sang was for a movie called HOTEL SWARGAM and he does not remember the lines of the song. But the first one that was released was 'ayiram nilave vaa'
  thathuvavathi, did he confirm that in your 1 to 1 meeting?

  Has any one heard the tonguetwister song
  'ananthan angathan anban vasanthan manmathan enrum vaNangum en uyir mannavaa' in Thiru*** (APN's movie') I think this is SPB/LRE. A tough song to sing. ( they would have called it Pudhukkavithai had they known in those days)

  In fact the whole movie Muhammed bin thuglak in real audio would be a great treat. We used to hear it in those days for every public meetings. But it had been 20 years since I heard that.

  Ranga, the name of the movie is "Hotel Ramba', it never got released.
  In "indru muthal selvamithu" , humming is by Swarna, the composer's wife (V Kumar).

  Thanks for the info. actually I know the movie name as Hotel Ramba. That was a trap I set for thathuvavaathi. I wanted him to correct it if he knows SPB that personally. This is no 'hihi'. believe me. I have the video cassette of Balu's light music.

  We arranged a SPB concert sometime back here in Texas. At that time I asked him that question and got the answer I mentioned !
  
  The 'light music cassette' that you have: is it 'Paadu Nilaa Baalu' - 30yrs/30,000songs ? I too have seen the video cassette and listened to the CD version ;-) btw, We are planning to have him here next year too... If possible, 'Ranga special-aa unga kitta kEkka sonnaaru'-nnu avar kitta Hotel-onrakannazhagi paththi kEttu paarkarEn ;-))

  given us a lot of memory space. Hence.. all songs
  presented earlier will be made available (permanently)

  I am back here after a few weeks of vacation in india. Good to see that there were lot of uploads, interactions etc here. Unfortunately (but inevitably!), my account with xoom has been locked during my absence for the same reason (violation of TOS) as it was done with other webmasters. I cut short my encounter with xoom admins with just two emails explaining to them the magnitude of effort(s) built in to those sites that were terminated with callous disregard. Anyway, as for as my page tamilmelody is concerned, i think the die has been cast(govindham baja govindham). However, i have collected some good classics of SPB (70s, early 80s) on CDs (about 50 songs) , some SJ hits and some oldies during my stay in india. I have found a new host for these songs as i plan to upload them in the future weeks to come. This week i have some golden classics(NOT featuring SPB) from 50s and 60s for presentation . Since i have the space limitation on my new host, i will be purging these songs after two weeks making way for other songs.
