why IRcan't achieve national awards?

IR is a music genius.still today he is unbeatable in BGMs.eventhough he done saga musics in some films like SIRSICHALAI,HEY RAM,SETHU.AZHAGI,
he cannot achieve national awards frequently,
shall we discuss why it happens?

  Whether IR/ARR gets them..What is so great in having them on your head. It serves no purpose. If you have people to lobby for, you may even get a one without even doing music..

  The underlying meaning is that I don't give damn importance to NA whether it is given to A or B as IMHO these awards are totally worthless. If you feel that way let it be that way. But obviously you know who all have been winning all these years.

  Fliflo, no one is going to believe ur "whether IR or ARR gets them" principle, bcos the truth is, ur a HCIRF whinging tat NAs r garbage at a time when ARR has won one and IR hasnt for some time. Sorry mate, the scenario is jus too predictable for ur story to sell.

  I donno whether there is a way to browse my last year's postings. My opinion was the same last year too and I had lot of counter arguments for that. So if you derive that I am allergic to ARR winning national award then I don't think I can help you. FYI, I haven't commented anything on ARR winning this award. My point is as such the award itself is defective and lost any true charm.

  Was there any charm in the awards any way. See only slow moving, still picture malayalam and bengali movies have won awards for 90% of times and this is happening from the time of inseption. So, this award is basically like that. If you are from Tamil nadu, or AP you won't get award because you make moving and popular films.
  If some body from this side has got an award against all the odds, then we have to feel proud of it. ARR won it for an hindi film. First time in the history that a tamil MD gets it for Hindi. Isn't it a thing to celebrate. ARR met the lion inside its den. He has won it.
  So, charm is there or not, he made it.
  Whether you like it or not BD is a hit and has been extended. Certain things are like this and you have got to accept it.

  Don't waste your time explaining to certain posers here. If its a true rasigan of music/ARR/IR, he/she would analyze/accept what you have said. If its someone who has appreciated a certain music before jumping onto another bandwagon in 1993 only to criticize what he had appreciated before, then you must realize what they stand for. And what they stand for is something that even the now all too famous terrorists won't be able to do or comprehend. Believe me you :), it's only a matter of time before they 'switch' sides. They already did once. It's in their blood.
  
  There's a souless group in here who play mind games and who think they're an elite. But i've have seen when a JUST person like Suresh(@ 202.88.155.34) and many others who have asked sensible or intelligent or factual questions/statements, these whatever beings just turn a blind eye or just not that humanly intelligent enough to rebut. Some have left and I hope its permanent(thank GOD). When we listen to the music we like, very often we get goosebumps or tears. But such is not the case of these gypsies. They come and go. They are the 'move-on' types. Do you think they are enjoying as much as us in music appreciation? It's not possible. Geez..aren't we glad for the 'sixth sense' we have and ultimately enjoying every bit of it? Something that these 'move-oners' don't have. Gosh!! can't imagine.

  Hindi field is not a Lion's den!! Come on give me a break!! These awards don't mean anything. To clearly explain why awards mean nothing i borrow examples from hollywood. In 1992 Alpacino won the Oscar for blind colonel role in Scent Of A Woman. But same year Denzel Washington put up a wonderful performance for Malcolm X. He didn't win it. This year Russell crowe gave a spectacular performance in A beautiful Mind. He didn't win it. Denzel Washington won for Training day. I can quote 50 such undeserved Oscars. This year three blacks won Oscar. Denzel, Halley Berry and Sidney Poitier. You get my point? Oscar panel consists of eminent people. When world's biggest and most famous award panel shows such inconsistencies think about National Award panel. You think they scrutinize each and every music? Most defenitely not. It is more like Miss World. Priyanka Chopra won Miss World. When she was asked who is your favorite living legend? Her answer was Teresa. She was not even aware if Teresa is dead or not. Yet she won the award. Everybody knew by default ARR would win NA not because it had good music. But because Lagaan reached top 5 in the Oscar. Sivaji is the best example. He should have got Oscar for his acting in Deiva Magan where he played triple role. But he didn't even get NA. So i do not respect any NA as it doesn't speak of genius of an MD.

  Will you apply the same concept for IR the three times he won it. Would you agree that in all the three times some one else should have got it. Some one from assam, or orisa or from deep east manipur.
  
  Come on talk sense. All you people sound very much same as all those who polambify after defeat. Your tone of the language easyly says that you have taken the defeat into heart.
  When, ARR didn't win last year and it went to AM, I have read in this forum, some one write that "Okay..AM has won it and that's it ..we have got to accept it..we like it or not.." some thing like that. He probably was an ARR fan. Magnanimity only comes when you are confident in what you believe. Do you have the confidence in IR?

  Fliflo, if tat is sincerely wat u think, I'll give u the benefit of the doubt (since I know ur one of the more decent DFers here). I was jus disapointed to see ur comments in the ARR won the NA thread. I personally dont believe awards mean alot either. But i feel they serve their purpose in some way or other. and I also believe tat the non-winners (and their fans) shld jus accept it wit grace.

Why dont u do urself the favour of ignoring posts/posters u dont like first (jus like how many people here ignore u). I dont mean any offense, but ur interfernce was unnecc.   I am not polambifying!! The point i am trying to make is, in consistent with the topic, IR doesn't have to win awards to prove anything. It doesn't mean he scores badly. Hey Ram was a masterpiece as the topic started mentioned. Siraichalai is also a class act from him. Within the scope of the movie, he does his best. Who cares if he doesn't get NA? Most of the people are his fans not because he won 3 NA. But because of his revolutionary music in late 70s and 80s. To be honest i don't know what are the movies he got for NA. I am not very particular about whether IR got award or not. I know his Orchestration got accolades from Zubin Mehta, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, K.J.Yesudos, Balamurali Krishna etc etc..
  He doesn't have to prove anything. He has already achieved what others can only dream. We all know he is the most verstaile MD India has ever seen.
  So let us not belittle his achievements just because he doesn't win damn NA awards. Ivan score is wonderful. I don't know if he gets award or not. But that won't change my opinion about his effort in that movie.

  IR has won national award for best MD (atleast) 3 times.
  
  1) Sagara Sangamam (Salagai Oli)
  2) Sindhu Bhairavi
  
  I do not remember the third movie..
