Superb Krishnan!...Since the beginning of light music era, we have seen many tunes in Sankarabharana Raagam...tons of tunes produced in this ragam...lingering around our ears all the time...it's difficult to come up with a tune in that raga and yet impress the people about the tune uniqueness and ownership. But Krishna you made a rare difference here...Kudos. Sangeetha Jnanam is the God's Gift -> There's a special feel in the melody there...with the backing vocals and harmony, interesting effect of morphing into Kalyani/Harikamboji melody once in a while is very Good. Keep it up. Continue.
Feel reminds me of Vandemataram "Maa Tujhe Salaam" or "Thai Mane Vanakkam" of ARR.
Best Regards,
Aditya

Kicha:
I am familiar with the PSR brand of keyboards and it's Vocal Harmonizer as I owned one in the past. Let me tell you that you guys used the keyboard tastefully in the score. Wonderful Vocals. It doesn't matter for an Amateur to worry which instrument was used and whether the sounds and patterns were modified or not -> You will soon reach a stage where you have to "make a demo for an album producer" or "score for a serious project" then you should be ready to complement your score with all those minor details. There's nothing like a perfect score:-)) I liked the Vocal Part of your Composition. Beautiful Melody and it dominated everything else -> Demo it to any professional -> you will win applauds and opportunities.
Yamaha or KORG or Roland, it's the MUSIC and ofcourse the recording quality that wins.
All the Best

Aditya

Kicha and others:
I am organizing my compositions in a website of my own very soon. Until then...you can give a listening some of the following tracks
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/vijayaditya/PhilosophicalFolk[1].mp3
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/vijayaditya/Fusion-Orchestral-Eastern-Jazz.mp3
Composing is my passion. Sometimes I perceive that as the only way to learn and understand the Music all by myself. Let me know if I learn and understand things correctly:-))

Dear Aditya...sorry for replying solate..was out of town for a couple of days...Listening fusion -eastern jazz right now..Great track man...what was it arranged/Programmed on..THE ADD-ONS are simply superb..The way the rythm starts is too good..the chord change has been done so brilliantly that no fusing problems have been noticed...Any inspiration as such...I agree with you on the front of learning and understanding music is the best done when you compose on ur own...You are on a right front...wishes and regards to u for ur website..kicha

Kicha:
One of my Objective with Fusion-Orchestral-Jazz is to understand how does Hamsadhwani Melody Structure would sound in different western scales variations with Meter Variations from 3/4 and 4/4
I started like I know only a Hamsadhwani Melody
"Sa Ri Ga Pa Ni Sa" in C Scale and then change the scale to Bflat and then built another phrase in the the same melody structure...like that evolved the whole phrases in several scale variations. You know it surprised me for a while that I thought I was trying to compose in "Kharaharapriya/Sri Ranjani/Bhagesri" -> Ground reality as a performer/composer I know that I applied only Hamsadhwani all the time. Corresponding Backing Orchestration was used appropriately and as i think it should build the Harmony. Looks like this exercise has sounded good to ears of some listeners besides mine:-))
I use Korg Triton "Orchestral Board" and Dance Extreme Boards for instruments besides some software instruments. I could record this better as I know it sounds extremely rich in my Head Phones.
Philosophical Folk is variates between "Keeravani" and "Suddha Dhanyasi".
Thanks for your feedback.
Regards,
Aditya

Dear Aditya...I have faced the same trauma..whenever we tried to compose in "Kharaharapriya/Sri Ranjani/Bhagesri" it ended up in major application of hamsdhwani..Maybe it is because the nishadham (NI) of hamsadhwani is so enchanting that i tend to rope it in many of our compositions...Need to learn more to overcome this...
Hey..i Have a gr8 plan..i plan to compose something with a happy feel in AHIRBHAIRAV which i think is very challenging and exciting..can u please BREIF ME UP with the basic structure of ahirbhairav..any instances of happy songs in this raagam(if u could help me more)????
ADITYA:have you heard VITTU VIDUTHALAI(BHARATHIYAAR)rendered by UNNIKRISHNAN in keeravani..i Think In philosophical folk..You have touched some similar notes..Give me your views about this track!!!!
Regards
KICHA
