Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

dun care about this lah Naga...as long the movie is enjoyable,then the movie is a hit...
a very embarrasing for Sa Re Ga Ma/HMV or Fivestare coz they didint buy Boys audio rights...same goes to Sony too...atlast Boys is the HIghest selling in this 2 years!!!

The problem with a big bunch of posters on TFM is that they are good jalras and kujas or worse thukkuthuukis and nothing else. Or else they wouldn't bad mouth ARR like this. While they think they are paying their dues as an expression of loyalty towards IR; they utterly lack even the slightest understanding of IR's philosophy and outlook. IR has not turned 60 years by being a mere tunesmith. So those who claim to speak for him must first cleanse their mouths and minds of filth before attempting to criticise ARR. Appreciation for ARR vs. IR is not a zero sum game. I like both of them and I believe that certain aspects of ARR's music are ill-understood whereas certain aspects of IR's music are over-rated. This in no way means that one is a gnani while the other is an empty vessel. I have heard several people here talk of how IR's music moves non-Indians while ARR's music sounds just the same as what you hear on the air in the West. I live in a city outside India which is home to the world's finest orchestra and is home to a great jazz and Rock n'Roll tradition. Bombay Dreams is the talk of the town among musical composers. Toronto which is a few hours away from where I live is all set to welcome Bombay Dreams - Broadway is soon to host the revue. This is already being talked about as the next "Chicago" and THE HOTTEST musical of the last five years!
Boyz is a runaway hit and has all the hallmarks of an ARR blockbuster. You need to listen to it thrice and then you are hooked on!
C'mon guys instead of venting your steam let bygones be bygones and wholeheartedly pay your appreciation to ARR.

this was just getting a junk place... 1 being an IR fan and if they are criticizing arr then they don't no anything about music or they are plain fanatics of IR. a lot of arr fanatics are also around.

For the person who was disparaging an ARR fan as being a conservancy worker at Panchatan Recording Inn - let us remember that we belong to the land and times of the the Great One of the Self Respect Movement and let us take inspiration from that half-naked fakir who believed that work is worship and considered no task too high or too low. Abusing a person by referring to an occupation or caste or creed is the most despicable form of behaviour beneath contempt. All those indulging in such verbal abuse should take venom elsewhere. Even a case of vaitherichal can be expressed with ingitham. Let this be the last time this sort of abuse occurs.

I don't think the comparison really fits..A project leader managing a small project team of 2 members is also leader, so is Vajpayee. But there is a level and they are no way comparable. ARR music is good and IR music is also good. But ARR is still in early stages and hardly gives out 2 movies a year. Now compare that with IR...you know where i am getting at.
From outside, both music are enjoyable. I have to revert back to my original comparison of Project Lead Vs. a Big time leader..

But Prabhu.....u must remember...during IR's peak time....there were "almost" no competitor for him..and so...any good project..or any big banner, big hero, something new...or anything at all...he will grab it....(as he is good at that time)..
but now...apart from ARR, we have VS, YSR, HJ, Sirpi, D.Imman, KR...and many more...
furthermore...nowadays....studying in music (i mean college education)..is becoming more n more popular...and everybody is into it...

It is more difficult to be your own competition and getting better of it, that is a gr8 Trade mark of IR. Nothing against ARR, just highlighting why IR is so different from rest of the MD's.

BOYS remake of FAST FORWARD?
There is a talk that the much hyped film BOYS is remake of Hollywood flick, FAST FORWARD (1985). This latest film from Shanker has been generating much response from youngsters as the peppy music by A. R. Rehaman has already topping the chartbusters. The film, FAST FORWARD, is all about eight talented teenagers.
They come to New York City to compete in a national dance contest. During the course of the trials, each of them learns to cope with both success and failure. Likewise, in BOYS too five teenagers try to create sensation with their own indigenous Band. The film's release date once again advanced to August 21, 2003.

You could probably call it a remake of pudhu vasandam or thulluvado ilamai if you want. it doesnt matter if boyz story resembles so many other stories. Be assured that Shankar will make every effort to make his movie look different
