  I cannot agree MSV had inspiration from GR, during those days most of the scores from GR were based on classical music . You will not be able to identify a song a devotional or a love song, unless you see the movie. More over there was no concept of light music, A song had fixed ragam etc. It was MSV who introduced light music and changed the classical base to something new, ofcourse he had people like MGR, Kannadasan to encourge him.
  Some one has told wihout kannadasan MSV is nothing, Noway,,will anyone sit and hear if read out the lyrics of "Athi kai allann kai song"
  no way -- Air become a tune in flute only if it is blown properly else Addpu than utha mudiyum.

  Srikanth, people who say that "without Kannadhaasan there is no MSV" are truly tunnel-visioned. It means they have no knowledge of TFM or that they don't care to back up their opinions with facts. It also means they haven't heard of Vaali, Maruthakaasi, Pattukoattai Kalyanasundharam, Pulamaippithan, Udumalai Naraayana Kavi, and a host of others who shaped TFM.

  Athikai is a wonderfully written song. It shows
  KaNNaDhaasan's skill over the use of language.
  I think even without the tune/music, this song

  msv n ir are only good melody n tunes creaters....but only one man in this world genius in creating tunes,melody,quality of sound n recording,classic songs,ghazal songs,fast numbers,western,100% original,new voices n what ever u want regarding to music....he'll will be the 1....
  
  kathal rojave,en mel vilenthe,anbe anbe,nila kaigirathe,chittirai nilavu,penalla penalla is some examples of 90's gr8 tunes,music....new mellinium...yetho yetho,anarkali,udhaya udhaya,ale ale......
  
  no 1 in india is better than ar rahman.so plz stop comparing msv n ir...the answer is AR RAHMAN
