This 'so-called' film critic from REDIFF.COM says 'ABHAY' (Hindi Version of ALAVANDHAAN' is a crap movie. The link is given below...
http://www.rediff.com/entertai/2001/nov/13abhay.htm
How crucial was 'music' a crucial factor for a film like ALAVANDHAAN?

Neutral Fan:
After going through your message (that too, twice), I'm quite sure you are indeed a POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC yourself. How else can someone talk for/about a POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC in such depth if he himself is not one?
Now the next logical question, can you smell something? But since you cannot smell camphor (oh wow, the smell of camphor actually exists, so since it does, I'm sure you cannot smell it)...that'd make you something of an ....!
I think we've found Raguvaran-SPB mania's parallel in Neutral Fan with his Kamal syndrome! All the perverted nonsense Kamal is conjuring up when there are some amazing things left to be said reminds me of one thing .... 'kani iruppa kai kavarnthatru'....Thiruvalluvar said this eons ago.

sorry guys for this THIRD post, but i just wanted to make sure it reaches the person it was meant to reach.......
--------------------------------------------------
DEAR BRATS oops sorry, DEAR BHARAT & KARTHIK...after reading through all your postings, it was really pathetic to find that you could not grasp even a single point out the story. That is not KAMAL's problem, it only shows your understanding level is awefully poor. And there is something called POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA which is the NANDHU character. Let me try and explain...I had asked you the following set of questions and your miserable head that u seem to unnecessarily carry over your shoulder could not manage even a single reply. So, here goes.....
1) Why does he say," I can smell her here..She must have been here...where is that girl. Has she escaped.?" (Asks Manisha about Raveena) - You dumbo..."paranoid schizophrenics" often report of smells that are not present at all. Got it?
2) Why would he take a plunge into the Ballon and walk straight towards a speeding car? - Inspite of my giving the clue about POSITIVE SCHIZOPHRENIA, your nimble brain cells could not understand. See, positive schizophrenics think they are capable of anything..the SUPERMAN kind...That explains the balloon jump & walking straight into a speeding car.
3) A local drug peddler produces a knife and kamal says,"Endhu perisu.." (Mine is big)...? - Going by your crap level of "film understanding" you would have thought that this is a "double meaning" dialogue. Poor you. That scene is meant to accentuate the fact that he fully believes he is capable & endowed...
4) Why the cartoon scenes were unusaully lenghty? - BHARAT, u sure must have thought people forgot to edit the movie. Grow up baby critic. When PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENICS go into their hallucinatory trips, "TIME & SPACE" does not matter, rather does not exist, for them atleast. KAMAL has cleverly spun those cartoon scenes around this theme...
5) And why the narration switches over to cartoon when the scenes get bloody? - That was because he (NANDHU) feels it is OK to kill when he conjures up a cartoon ambience when he feels he might turn violent. If you had watched carefully (which you didn't..probably preoccupied with Raveena & Manisha), the doctor asks,"where did you learn so much violence?" and NANDHU replies,"..like from where all children learn...the cartoons."
6) And why he suddenly changes his mind in the climax? ..(The disorder of schizophrenia is such that people often find themselves loosing interest in what they vigourously pursue initially..and in more than 65% of the cases, there is suicidal tendency...(Hope it all falls in place now, dear "self proclaimed" critic)
7) and to top it all, this one is an absolute blinder...can u, dear Bharath, hazard a guess on why NANDHU takes an instant dislike for RAVEENA? - Hah never mind ...After reading through your silly postings, i don't expect you to figure out that...SCHIZOPHRENICS have an instant dislike for anything associated with media/broadcasting...because, these people think media people somehow PICK up the thoughts running in their mind and thus fear that once learning their thoughts , these media/broadcasting people would later try to persecute them...
Dear Acclaimed Critic Bharat, i hope u never see movies that are too much for your miniscule brain. (And did you understand head or tail out of KAMAL's previous mega-effort, HEY RAM...probably u didn't...For your kindest information, IOWA university has now added HEY RAM as a course material..)
:-)I only remember JESUS CHRIST's statement," Don't throw pearls before swines."...I guess KAMAL has given a pearl for the...well, forget it.. :-) [I have been strictly warned not to call names]
------------------------------------------------
The following definition is for you, dear "SELF PROCLAIMED CRITIC" BHARAT annaachi and KARTHIK....see if you can understand the meaning, and consequently, see if you can appreciate NANDHU character better.
------------------------------------------------
Paranoid Schizophrenia - This is the commonest type of schizophrenia in most parts of the world. The clinical picture is dominated by relatively stable, often paranoid, delusions, usually accompanied by hallucinations, particularly of the auditory variety, and perceptual disturbances.

:-) Here is more information on PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA, our "NANDHU" KAMAL, for the sake of "SUPERFICIAL OBSERVERS TURNED CRITICS"..(yeah, there are so many u know..even in a cricket field they say there are a good eleven thousand...)..but atleast now i want a sensible reply, unlike the crap ones some people try to manage....[Karthik, r u listening :-) LIGHTER VEIN MY FRIEND, NOM]..
-----------------------------------------------
Subtypes of Schizophrenia
Paranoid Type - adds suspiciousness projection, and delusions of persecution to other schizophrenic traits, may refuse medications or food for fear of being poisoned, usually highly verbal and will tell about unseen “instruments” that are reading his/her mind, at times may become quite aggressive and combative...
----------------------------------------------
BUT DON'T FORGET TO READ THE PREVIOUS POST...Expecting some worthwhile reply on that...[Because i have other facets of the film to be discussed :-)]

Maybe you can try discussing them with those who deserve it - fellow POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENICS! Say, why dont you start a thread to discuss movies and music which appeals to POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENICS like you and Nandhu since there are so many of such cases out 'ere. Leave us normal mortals out of such Schizophrenic blabber. Like a true Schizophrenic, you might dispute what you say today, tomorrow - 'cos simply put its a condition that results from the coexistence of disparate or antagonistic qualities or identities.

cannot say the goat was missing the aqua terribly. The goat just had to make a wish between couple of devils & the deep sea...and finally decided the 'DEEP SEA' was a better choice :-)

dearest neutral fan, just a few points i want to clarify:
>>Why would he, for god's sake, have to show that? The story is not about "pre marital pregnancy & the gruelling aftermath", is it?<<
It absolutely isn't. I was jus pointing out to bharath that unlike wat he was saying, this story was not serving any social purposes for sex education of the masses.
>>but Indians just cannot use Americanistic slang<<
They can, but I just hope they will get it right, like tigger pointed out. It reminds me of the movie 'Time' which was partly shot in Singapore. Kovai Sarala and a bunch of other comedians were acting as Prabhu Deva's relatives in Spore. So they tried speaking the Singaporean way of Tamil, u know like 'epudi lah irukka' for how r u and so on. They got it so wrong. They spoke in the normal Tamil and just added the 'lah's liberally at the wrong points along the sentence. It sounded really irritating, as I was used to the normal Sporean Tamil accent, tho i dont expect the Indian Tamils wud have given a damn anyway. The point is, if u try a foreign slang, u better get it right all the way or dont try it at all. Of course in Time, it was forgiveable cos the actors weren't taking themselves too seriously. But in a more serious movie, some amount of effort needs to be made. And it's probably not Raveena's fault as it wasn't her own voice, I believe, tho i cud be wrong.
>>u see SEAN CONNERY getting dirty & naughty, it is still OK with u<< Not really. It was pretty annoying to watch Sean Connery's dirty and naughty hands all over Catherine Zeta Jones in Entrapment, for obvious reasons, but then that's another issue...:-)
>>I'm quite sure you are indeed a POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC yourself. How else can someone talk for/about a POSITIVE PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC in such depth if he himself is not one?<<
That was sooo pathetic, Karthik. If you can't come up with any substantial info urself, no point saying neutral fan is a schizophrenic simply cos he knew more than u.
>>finally decided the 'DEEP SEA' was a better choice :-)<<
Deep seas, indeed. Still waters run deep...:-)
