ARR's plagiarism--tamilians are not dumb.

Hi guys,
I am going to india soon.If you want to show your disapproval against ARR's plagiarism please do reply to this new thread which I will eventually print and give it to ARR personally so that he realises that people are not dumb and listen to his fancy copying of music from abroad and boast himself as a musician.
Even his latest much talked "Vande matram" has one songs which has direct lift of a tune from Madonna's latest "FROZEN".
I don't know how he thinks that he can get away with these fancy copying.I think it is time for us to show him that we are not dumb.

  Quality, He belives in Quality than Quantity..
  
  AR records only in his studio.
  He brings out new sounds in each of his songs.
  He waits for good lyrics, works mulitple hours for extract one small pharse. I had an oppurtunity see Ar at work - he was recording a song for PudhiyaMugam - sung by my cousin Anupama..
  July madam vandal ...for each pharse he took around 2 hours. He plays and explains the song talks about feel... . Gives a free hand to the artists. Lets them to improvise.
  and corrects them if they are wrong.
  Most of all he records by himself., (he does a punch in and out - lowest level of work needs much accuracy... )-- for Raja all these are done by others .
  He calls the best musicicans in the country..
  Prasana - guitar, violin by Ganesh/Kumeresh.,
  Keth peters for bass parts, Ranji barot...all these guys are very very busy musicians , he has to wait for them...
  
  AR has forced every one to improve their recording...including Raja.
  Besides the instrumentation ...he the first person to use the slap bass as a slap bass,
  when you compose a slap bass part you should imagine like a slap bass player,....AR has these capabilities...
  I can go more on composing...but thats it..
  
  Your argument is not right. Change your heading to Tamils MD's instead of AR....
  When people like DEVA , Sirpi come around TFM by 100% score theft... ....
  I dont see why you should pounce on AR...the only reason is he is considered as a match to IR....,...
  I had this same feeling against Raja when he moved MSV out of the scene...

  just because ARR spends more time recording,or by bringing musicians from all over india does not mean he produces quality music. If you want to achieve quality , you need "EXPERIENCE" . In 1985 and 1984 IR composed music for 51 and 54 movies respectively. All of them are 'Golden' ones. So what ARR probably needs is the big 'E'. So your argument for 'delay' in 'delivery' in case of ARR is not right. And your statement IR moved MSV out of the scene is not right either. Because, big people make way for young talents and that caused MSV to retire.

  very VERY interesting Srikanth and thanks for fighting the good cause.Let me also take this opportunity to express my admiration for Anupama who is incredibly good and whose Konjam Nilavu is totally unforgettable.
  Btw a previous question I put to you which you appear to have missed is how did you go about trying to meet Rahman and what did you want to discuss with him?

  He has done grades in London Trinity collage..
  Had performed with L..Shanker's Shakti...
  group (international band),
  He had also played for Raja,
  (if you are from Madras....do you remember a small band in DD playing songs like Anne Anne and others - A person called Dilip played the keyboards....He is AR. - this was 15 years ago.)
  He had scored over 1000 ad jingles...that we all all hear day to day.....
  if you dont call this as experiance , I am sorry ...
  I cant talk much further..
  AR produces quality music no one can deny the fact...if anyone does it is due to pure igonorence...

  I knew AR assist. Noel, I called him from US..
  to fix an interview for my web site..but Neol told me AR as very busy, so he told me call when I was in Madras...in madras I called but I got same reply....I tried through other friends but nothing seemed to work out.
  I gave up.

  AR has scored many many many jingles..
  most of it were for private films,
  many came up in AIR, DD, and others..
  1000 - That why I call it as an achievment.
  His studio was built from the money he made from his jingles...

  I agree with the quality ARR has
  given to his songs but only one thing
  that irritates me is he talks like
  he isn't copying from any pop albums.

  about ARR's achivement here. If he
  indeed scored for 1000 jingles, then

  Guys around here just blame AR without knowing much about his work or due a love or what ever it on Raja, not able to digest the downfall of the great man.
  Being a musician myself - often I become amazed by AR's chords and placements etc
  Raja has done great things to TFM, so is AR ...
  Once again it not AR alone who copies...
  all of them do it --- Raja is also included..

  Srikanth, I do admire your appetite for arguments, but when will you figure out your arguments are falling on muted eyes here? You can discuss IR and ARR as musicians because you are a musician. Among most in these discussions, IR is GOD and therefore ARR is SATAN in their opinion. Once someone has been deified, you got to leave any logical discussions alone because you are arguing religion at that point.
  I regret that most Indians revel in celebrating one and tearing others down. Many can only appreciate one thing or person at a time. If they open themselves up to a world of experience it will expand their horizon. If not, let them be, man. There are many here, including me, who silently appreciate all music. I tried and failed to argue logic and never will I walk that path again. You have a wealth of knowledge, Srikanth. Please spend it in discussing worthwhile topics and threads like the one you started about Scales in music. Leave this Prarthanai Club.

  ARR might not be a great composer and might not even be in IR's league but he has done little things like improving recoding quality,introducing new singers and above all what i consider important, bringing a much neded freshness in composing in 1993.
  
  I would always remain an IR fan and would continue to criticize ARR,but it is just to point out some of the few positive things that this young guy has brought about in TFM which other older guys like deva,sirpi etc. have miserably failed to do so .
  
  But i agree with balaji in the fact that i have never heard ARR accepting any lifts at all and all his lifts have been 'inspirations' which is a bit incredible.
  
  also like srikanth I have never probed deep into technical aspects of song composing.I have always been interested only in the end product,the song, which is all that matters to me as a music lover .
  And it always happens that IR's end products seem to impress me more than anyone else's .

  Nalladhu kanne kanavu - from Raman thediya seethai is a straight lift from a western classical
  
  Anubhavam pudhumai - from kaadalikka neram illai is a back to back copy of a latin american instrumental piece. I was just stunned to hear this. May be TKR did the work ?

  in Thiruda Thiruda is a jingle track of AR, sung by Noel for a Bombay based Ad agency which markets time sharing Estates etc..
  These numbers were given by Noel, AR's Asst. when I spoke to him for the first time. That was when Konjum Nialvu was recorded. I had to sit in the reception with him for few hours..He told lot of things about AR compositions etc..
  There are many , if Possible I wil call and get some for you..
  I am now out this argument...bye guys..
  Every one copies...RAJA / ARR/SIRPI OR DEVA..
