Firstly, where the hell is he? I know he did some concerts or something but where are all his latest movies and hits? Parasuram should be opening soon but what happened to the rest?? I was looking fwd to Yelelo, Boys, New, E18U20(something like that!), etc. All these films supposed to have opened some time ago but they have vanished. Did he delay these films again or the producers withdrew the films?
What's more, nowadays his music has become so mundane that the feelings I use to have looking out for the release so eagerly have also vanished. Has the upsurge in quality by other newcomers made his music so mundane? Has he given up film music. His Bombay Dreams has been a total failure and a waste of time listening to it. Just where is he & what is he up to?

hey martin,
i'm from canada and no white person here knows who is ar rahman. are you really in canada? i mean mentally. face the truth...ar rahman's style and music is getting weaker by every release and soon i think TFM will say bye bye we don't need you. sounds mean? yeah it is for what ar rahman does: he is high paid, delays movies, and now the music sucks --> who wants him? maybe BD does...

Hi all,
I am in the UK and just went to Bombay dreams. It was good. Good modification of ARR's earlier works. One or two (or is it?) are new. Everyone there seem to like the musical and not necessarily for the music. Because of all round performance. Also, not many of my friends here thought its revolutionary music. Its a decent album. Not many know about AR Rehman here other than desis. Not many know about Indian music here.
I dont care alot about non-Indian views. I dont think an average music listener will understand Indian melodies. So it will be better not to
have thoughts based on what a westener thinks. Lets have a subjective view of what we think about our music.
I found the "Bombay Dreams" album lacked creativity. Though you cannot call it a right musical for creativity. Its a parody on Bollywood movies (his music would not have been taken that seriously and with theatrical environment, where there are live performances, his music didnt sound great as it sounds in a casette).
I see a great dip in ARR's music in the last 3 or 4 years. The last great album he released is Alaipayuthey and Kandukondaen Kandukondaen. With the way he goes, I dont think he is going to get to that level. I hope he comes good.

To all IR fans... Okay fine, IR is the best!!! He is the most awesome music director ever. He is known all over the world. He has conducted a symphony. ARR is nothing compared to him.
But we like ARR's songs much more than IR's. Do you guys have a problem with it? If so, please state exactly what your problems are? For 'us' ARR's music is the best. Why do you want to try and convince us otherwise? For us, IR can never give a kadhal rojave or a sax lullaby(duet) or a radha kaise na jale(lagaan) or any such music. We dont care if he delays moves(if that is true), we dont care if his cassettes dont sell that much(if that is true, again) and most of all, we dont care what non ARR fans say...
p.s. HJ fans(if there are any). This is what HJ had to say when asked about the bit songs he composed for Minnale('maddy maddy' and 'nenjai poopol' and then was forced to do a similar thing in 12B. "It has become a headache for me... Now everyone wants bit songs like those. This is an extra headache for me now-a-days". When a music director considers composing music as a headache, it tells you how good he is and how involved he is in his work...

Phenom, you try to argue with no points? If you do not care then why care to state it? We use this forum to state our opinion and to get feedback from others around the world. It seems to me you just don't care about anything, even good music. I do agree ARR is much better than IR and I do agree ARR was the best until the mellenium. HJ will take over TFM i'll gurantee it.

I appreciate ARR's past music and his effort to make Bombay dreams.
He shouls avoid giving the worst music like PP,alli arjuna,kadalvirus,udaya,parasuram,boys.
