Kamal as a singer

Kamal everybody knows him as a versatile actor. Each film he tries to make something different, whether it satisfys us all the times or not. But he his also a good singer. After yester years were the actor was suppose to be a good singer also, he had sung a very good number of songs.

Can you contribute to this list of his songs.

  doubter - well iam sure the song u said "aadip pattam" is from MKMR..... the song from Ponnumani is "aadi paatam thedi parthu vedhaikanum kannaiya", and its sung by Mano.... anyway both of them are not by Kamal....

  Iam almost sure if Kamal had taken up a career in singing, he would have replaced many of the mediocre singers who are crowding the scene currently. he is the best singer amonsgt heroes in India and is perhaps heavily under-rated.
  I agree that "Pottu vaitha kaathal" and "sundari neeyum" are great renditions. Replace Kamal with Hariharan in "Pottu vaitha kaadhal " and you will instantly find out Hariharan struggling in higher octaves. also the way he sings "Maarugo maarugayi" with all those additional expressions(inspired by SPB perhaps?) is simply too good.

  I like his song from the film Oh Maane Maane titled "Pon Maane Theduthe, en Jeevan.."
  beautiful cheerful song by raja, but the song is not so famous for whatever the reason is.. anyway, do any of you have any info on the movie itself, director, actor.. etc..

  'Pon maanai thEduthE en veenai..', kamal sang for Mohan. I think, it was the first song that he sang for someone else. I think that the movie had Mohan and oorvasi in lead roles, but a medicore movie!

  Kamal long back sang in a movie - Saranam Aiyappa - "Annan vaada, Thambi Vaada"..... i don't think Kamal acted in that movie...... if that is the case, that's the first song (or may be there is something else) Kamal sang for others...

  Sabesan, Anna vaada thampi vaada in Saranam Aiyapa By Chandrabose came after Andtharangkam.
  Andtharangkam is the first movie for Kamal as a singer.

  anbodu kathalan, are two of my very favourite
  songs that always play on my mind. They are
  simply beautiful, lovely rythm and the his voice
  is simply superb. In fact, I love most of the songs played in his movies, especially thalatethe

  Does anyone know the origin of his name?
  
  According to his website his name is spelt as kamalhaasan (kamalhaasan.net). I recall hearing that the name met person with a lotus smile, suhasini being person with a good smile, etc. I have heard differently recently. Could someone please clarify? Thanks.
