bb,
thanks for your comments. I'm using good mics and mixer for piano recording. Thats the reason the quality is good.
Srikanth,
Listened to your latest composition.. cool.. keep up the good work. I'm sure that you'll become a Music director soon.

Srikanth, RajaG, Udhaya,
Good job! RajaG, the 'attitude' in the voice is very unique and good. The voice has so much reach and kuzhaivu. Great singing!
Srikanth, the music has thousands of little ideas, you have ornamented it very well. Unfortunately, in a fast song, people will not notice the nuances. Percussion is so varied.
Interludes are good. Harmony is used well.
Udhaya, netru varaikkum thanikkadu, inru amaipom pudhu kilikkoodu - every line brims with fresh imagination.
Scope for improvement:
Mixing. Most of the music sounds too low volume.
On the positive side, the voice is heard well, but the music has to be brought up forward a little. Also the voice some places sounds as standing out.
Udhaya, suddenly you mixed colloquial tamil - ezhudi vachu pattu padhicha. It does not fit with the varalaru, maaligai usage. Other than that, you have surprises in every line (sabalam, sulabam). Good!
Aditya, you have nice ear for styles. The first interlude has stylistic similarity to Vaanam namakku veedhi.
Final Judgement: Another hit that establishes the energetic funky style of Srikanth.

Guys, Finally I get some time to visit here.
Thanks for all the comments.
I would say this album is a perfect example of what we can achieve by Teamwork. We all met thru this DF. Everyone played his or her part very sincerely and with full dedication. Our goal was produce a real and original piece of Art.
Rajag, Udhaya, Balaji (BB) and Ragavi put lot of effort on the lyrics, song interpretation etc, and Krishna worked very hard on the postproduction part. I am very lucky to have associated myself with these talented folks.

Sentamiz Nadu - Tamil"
The current generations are attracted more towards popular music. I feel current generation should know about Bharathi’s poems and its greatness. This is possible only if we are able to convey to them in their own language. I came up with this score with basic ingredients of pop and rock. But I also maintained the traditional music, like song is composed in Ragam Thilang. Ravi, A good friend of mine has done the Vocals. Ravi popularly known as Rjay in the Tamil midi circles needs no introduction. We had great time working together. Rjay being a composer himself, it was very easy for me to convey the exact nature of the song. He understood my interpretations and perfectly produced I wanted!, if not more. Please email your feed back to us. Vocals: Ravi Annaswamy, Composed and performed by: Srikanth. Digitally Recorded and Mixed in Studio1234, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Folks:
I have made a honest attempt to make a full song...Please give your opinions on this...Incidentally even I touched tilang phrases in my composition - mixed bass lines and rhythm as traditional composers.

rjay: way to go man. your voice sounds manly! the "sakthi" enunciation is cute :-). also, the "kAdhal" is beautiful.
srikanth: first, a kuRai (odhaikkAdha please) the guitar at the end of the second interlude is cut off abruptly. the pauses in the first interlude are "halting". your interludes are a little "rough"; at the end of the song for the line "sakthi piRakkudhu mUchchinilE" you have added more strenght by adding another voice track and slightly increasing volume (?), it sounds a little too much. now for the good points: this one is way at the top; great singing, interesting arrangement; i especially liked the piano and pizzicato strings in the charaNam. in the end, the countermelody (hummning) moves from the right to the left; the panning is done very well. i see that you have taken liberty with the lyrics (like leaving out the words nalla and iLam in the first charaNam and nalla in the second charaNam) for melodies sake; while you need to be cautious about it; with this song, i think, it's okay!! (i don't know who gave the right to write this comment on "meddling" with someone else's poem :-), but hey who cares? :-))) )
very well made song.

Arul thanks, :)
Imho Halting is something I like :), makes you enjoy the next lines, brain gets some time to think about the score (oh oh:) :) also as far as, we dont add to the existing lyrics it is ok! (evan sonnan)..:). Also I took real care (for your sake:) in pronounciation. :) and i see no comments from you on that!....so assume to be near perfect!...Rjay knows how I kept bugging him on this:)
Just an experiment!....the usual version is in 3/4, I changed this to 4/4, and did you hear the 7th note harmony at the end, I tried to be different, thats all. I will be happy if people likes it.

Srikanth and RJAY, good job!! I never knew RJAy had "Ganeer" voice! Good selection of Raagam.
I have trouble though listening to actual sounds of instruments. You have set all instrus to sound so sharp man...sometimes it sounds so unnatural and "Rahmanesque". Please preserve a snare sound to sound like a snare and brass to sound like brass. I can hear none of those clearly. The all sound with a ringing sound you hear soon after u listen closely to an atom bomb blast. I think you can make sounds more "full" if you know what i mean.
The compositions have changed though. We all know you are upto something else new! Continue with good efforts.

swamiji: atom bomb blast-a close-A kETTum you are still alive! i think you should be a real swami :-)) what you said it true, the snare, brass are sharp; in fact it's difficult to identify the snare, unless you know where to hear a snare.

UV,
Here comes the long-delayed Tambura (tanpura?) soundfont I owe you.
I have mapped it around middle C for an octave and half. (Maybe unnatural, but I stretched it as long as it sounded good.) Let me know if it is useful for your purpose.

Friends
Thanks. It was real fun singing this song. Seeing Srikanth in a recording session is thrilling. He makes you totally relax and give your best. I never knew I had a presentable voice in the high octaves.
Above all, I am a die-hard fan of Bharathi, it is a satisfying experience to voice his words which boast the greatness of Tamil nadu (and India, I would say). Thank you Srikanth.
First time I have heard rock/pop arrangement for Tilang, that too for a fast song. It is yet another showcase for Srikanth's talent.

Srikanth and RJAY:
What I liked in this song!
- Around 2:55, there was humming in the background seems to be in Bhageshri raaga running on the Tilang Phrase (pallavi lines ) in the foreground.
- Conclusion lines with some vocoder effects really having a great feel to this song.
RJAY sounded really cool in the above mentioned points. RJAY good singing!
Raga selection isn't important as srikanth's arrangement brings the intended style as he wanted. Even if he had selected Subha Panthuvarali, he seems to bring this rock style...
Good Job!
Just my personal opinion... Till date I think he did complete justice to the music in "Bharatha Desham", "Wedding Song" and his Instrumental Compositions.
Regards,
Aditya
