His weekends, and after office hours have completely occupied with music. By now you must have guessed who it is...Annan "Srikanth". Long live Srikanth
My Best wishes to Srikanth's family.

naveen: awesome! the recording also sounds good (in my cheap earphones :-) ). i have been listening to it on repeat mode for the last 20 minutes! :-). the bridges are delicious; the dynamics are well controlled. there is only one kuRai i can say about this piece tho: when tms says "peNNAka" he really makes us long for such a peN :-). in your interpretation that's lost, imo. you should serious consider releasing a full album of your piano interpretations of tfm classics. this one beats even "enna enna vArttaikaLO", "attAn".
i am starting a rasigar manRam for naveen :-))

Friends,
Thanks for your comments. I'll work on some more melodious songs..
Arul, I need to learn a lot... ippave fan club ah!! Professional Pianists will get irritated..
Well, I think I didn't give emphasis to a main note in "Pennaka"..
Thanks for pointing it out.. next time I'll take care of that..

Hi all!
If any of you folks are in Tamil Nadu, or are able to receive Raj TV, please checkout K.Balachandar-in Chinna Thirai between 8pm and 9pm (Mon to Fri) both this week and the next (if you get the chance). I've acted in this week's story "Appa Pass" and have done the background score for next week's "Vaazhkai Paadangal". If any of you have ever seen K.Balachandar-in Chinna Thirai, I've done the title score for that series.
If any of you get a chance to check these out, tell me what you think.
Belated birthday wishes to Srikanth. Hi Arularacan, nice to see a posting from your side.
Will check back later!

RajaG's voice is juvenile...I am glad that srikanth has been working with all the newtfmpage aquaintances...
Song is in general familiarly different in nature...style is soft rock...Arrangements have close resemblances with a Songs in "Anjali"
- Vaanum Nammuku
- Anjali Anjali
I enjoyed it thoroughly - 70's style of music with good melody phrases...
Good Job Srikanth...

Aditya

rAjAjI: i second vidhyA. vaRalARu-la oru book ezudhiTTInga :-). and very controlled (unlike some "famous" ghazal singer :-) ) spb-yOda influence migavum therikiRadhu, but in the second charaNam when you sing thAngumA (paruvam ini thAngumA) you sing like kjy :-). looking for tougher songs sweeter songs from you rAjAjI.
udhayA: vairamuththu influence? rombA thAn adhigamA irukku :-) kambam vITTil vari is good. in this song too, the lyircs sit tightly with the chandhams. good job, udhayA.
srikanth: this is not one of your better achievements. you can do better. i felt the melody was boring and the beginning of the second charaNam reminded me of another song you composed. it was like listening to some uninspired composition that gets aired in oli96, a.i.r. now and then. sorry to be this blunt, but you can do better.

hihi,
Thanks for the compliments. But where's the VM influence? I haven't used an alogrithm or the following words:
-viyarvai
-echchi
-thaaimozhi
-swaasam
-garvam
-raajasugam
-kollaathae
-thinnaathae
-kasakkaathae
-pidungaathae
-arukkaathae
-nasukkaathae
-posukkaathae
-urasaathae
or the pairing of:
-saadhi sanam
-aasai thoasai
-thinasari anusari
-kattil thottil
-dheebam theepandham

:-))))) i was refering to the way the word "thAn" is used in the second charaNam. you cracked me up with the list.
ps: i really don't know who started this usage of "thAn" almost as a filler word, but vm is a good target :-))

Interesting observation on "thAn". I wonder if it's a Madhurai usage. I grew up hearing it all the time.

Good song!!! The lyrics, tune and the singing fall perfectly in sync with what the song intended to convey/express. Catchy tune, very apt!!! I liked rajaG's extra 'roll' in 'mALigayil vAzhgiRAi' after the first charaNam. Forumers who are used to reading rajaG's mischevious postings now know that his singing too packs a puch in that area. Overall, a song that keeps the listener engrossed and one would never tire of listening to the song.
On the negative side, from the point of view of a layman, the interludes did not carry on with the carnival spirit created initially. There was this distinct folkish touch to the second interlude, I guess a more 'colorful' sound packed interlude would have accentuated the gaeity that was supposed to be conveyed. Moreover, the slow ascent of the pan flute(?) after a pause, after a flurry reminds me of the 'kAthal pAthayil' interlude.
Overall, a song that keeps the listener engrossed and one would never tire of listening to the song. The main reason being, the tune never loses track of the end objective. Apt lyrics...Udhaya, I am sure the current TFM producers would not accept 'Kamban', 'Byron' may sound more 'modern' :)))
