MSV and ARR - THE ONLY LEGENDARY COMPOSERS FOR TFM TO CHERISH!

The melodies of MSV are longlived and cherished even today as new. They sound fresh.
ARR, though young in age can be considered as a current day counterpart in composing songs intact with melody, well orchestrated to the mood, giving importance to the lyrical content, the same way MSV did then! I think there is a similarity between the two geniuses.

  Alarmingly Repetitive Rahman is ARR can never be called a legend.
  
  the Late Shivaji did not get a single national award.he hardly acted in Hindi movies. yet his acting and reputation will never get surpassed.would yoy not call him a legend just because he did not act much in other languages?
  
  MSV/TKR, KVM and IR are the true TFM legends.
  Cut & paste , cleverly manipulating old tunes +plus a bit of natural talent are the secrets of ARR's success. in the days of MSV/TKR or KVM or even IR's initial years audio cassetes were not at all widely used. People were listening to LP/EP records. TV was unknown till 1976.and when ARR arrived the cable TV channels started penetrating even rural areas.hence his tunes which are/were catchy but short lived have captured the market. further for all the hype, he has hardly composed music for 70 movies and in that itself so much of recycling.
  
  he has brought tanglish cuture in to TFM and in the pretext of introducing new singers he has paved way for Sadna sargams, UNs to kill tamil with impunity.compared to this the singers like KSChitra,mano,harishragavender, sujatha, madhu balakrishnan and even swarnalatha(though her voice got spoiled after singing for ARR) introduced by IR are really good.

  I think u guys should be comparing MSV & IR not ARR, arr is legend in mixing using pc, his music is computerised, with nowadays technology any can be a MD , where ARR became a master of this technique tha's all.

  Seeing so many people saying IR is the everest, a born genius and what not makes me wonder:
  If each of these guys buy CDs of IR's music as soon as it is released, then the sales of IR's Cds will be more.First of all, the producer will reap more profit on music.Then,the mega-producers too will be inclined to book him for projects which could be creatively challenging and commercially massive.
  My question is:are the posters(people) really buying IR CDs?If they are, then what seems to be the problem?
  
  This could inspire IR more and also give him the confidence that his fans surely have faith on him.
  If most people think worship alone is enough for faith then I'm completely wrong.
  
  For me,being an ARR fan would benefit me in the foll. sense:
  Sachin performs better when he knows Lara or S.Waugh is breathing down his neck.

  good one! I'll add to it. If the assumption is taken that all people who like IR (leave alone worship) bought IR's CD's (or cassattes) then IR wud sell more .

  It is very true that the era of MSV followed by a era of ARR after a small break with other MDs, is truly golden to TFM, since their songs reaches overseas too. The golden songs of MSV reached in an era of records, when facilities to record or make music was not available. Now ARR does his best with latest facilities and gets the world look into Tamil film music with great surprise.
  Have you ever seen a tamil melody (even in MSV, KVM days) being seriously looked upon by Bollywood or Hollywood for usage in their films? ARR proves it! MSV though great, did not get his deserved technical promotion due in his days like ARR,

  there was a concert telecast on vijay tv this afternoon, in which SPB and Anuradha Sriram sang Swaasame. It was amazing to see how this man's voice remains so sweet after having sung so many songs over such a long time. He's simply too good, man.
